Bill Thomas Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Traffic is at a stand still south of Hereford again! What's with the half mile of cones all along Victoria St, for a little hole that they have dug in Edgar St? No wonder the traffic is backed up for miles south of the river! They could of placed the cones on the lights at Edgar St which still gives enough warning for the little hole. This country is mad about traffic cones and warnings, for miles before any road works beware of this and beware of that, in the rest of Europe you have a few cones explaining that road works are up ahead, what's with the endless empty lanes of just cone after cone!
Roger Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 More to the point, I think, is why was that gas hole not being worked on yesterday evening when the traffic situation was quieter? It was totally closed down for the evening when I drove by at 17.45. There seems to have been a total lack of urgency in fixing whatever was leaking underground. The only reason for no activity would be that a spare 'part' was being waited upon. But the hole was there all day so there should have been plenty of time to get one across to Edgar Street.
Biomech Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 The mile of cones is for the resurfacing that started last night. It was horrendous again today. Best bet is out Holme Lacy and round the back. MUCH longer but takes about 10 minutes. It was 45 minutes from Broadleys to Asda this morning
