WirralPC Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I certainly was. And today's news from the Local Government Chronicle certainly did the trick... http://www.wirralglobe.co.uk/news/11851526.From__abnormal_to_inspirational____Wirral_wins_Most_Improved_Council_award/ Quote
bobby47 Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 It's wonderful isn't it. Remarkable achievement. They've quickly gone from 'Abnormal' to better than 'Good'. Quote
flamboyant Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I managed to hold my composure until I got to "The Most Improved Council category is one of the most prestigious awards in local government." Then I fell off the sofa! Not sure whether it was hysteria or some kind of fit, I'm going to make an appointment with the Doctors just to check. Quote
GrowlTiger Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I thought the part about working together with residents a particular belly laugh. The very last thing officers want is to face a resident to discuss a disputed local issue. They push something through without consultation and convince themselves their decision making is faultless and above criticism. In reality it is more likely to be based on lies, corruption and mal administration. I have noticed in recent FOIs that WBC is refusing to provide information about the content of officers’ meetings on the basis that putting the information into the public domain may inhibit officers’ future ability to take decisions. If they have nothing to hide why would a little openness and transparency inhibit them? Quote
dippyhippy Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Hmmm. Not just good. Not just great. They are now in fact..... inspirational. Amazing. Quote
