Adrian symonds Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 So do anyone know that the City won gold, do anyone care? There was a small piece in the Hereford times, a larger piece about someone losing weight To be honest I am not sure what to think about this Britain in bloom stuff, I like the way the city centre looks, but could we not do this anyway without pampering to some organisation that very few people know anything about?
bungospoon Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 I think Hereford Bloom do a great job in organising displays and encouraging businesses and groups to have sort of floral display outside their places. A gold award is another very good achievement - the challenge is to keep places off the judges route, to join in and also to keep things going for the spring/summer/autumn rather than just a couple of weeks before judging day.
Cloudberry Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Very well done to all those who work so hard with Hereford in Bloom! The colourful displays do make a big difference and hopefully they will help encourage more tourists to keep on coming back to Hereford.
greenknight Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Yes I agree with bungospoon and cloudberry...we have some great displays on the few roundabout s that we have. But as Ubique1 said on the HT site there is not a lot of mention for activities outside the city.
Adrian symonds Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 I think they do a good job as well, but it would be nice if it was done to make the city look nice and not some competition. Herefordshire council have no interest, come to think of it they have little interest in anything unless it brings them money
Roger Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 So do anyone know that the City won gold, do anyone care? I don't care. Official.
