Colin James Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Hereford Times - Someone Using Same Name As Hereford Voice. They have registered using the names Herefords Voice and also Hereford Voices (Notice the S) I have written to Clive at the HT as someone has registered as Herefords Voice on their website, notice the S on the end of their name. We are: Hereford Voice Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I read it and thought that's not Colin then I saw the s. It could cause upset amongst posters. There are some truly very odd people around nowadays Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Try this http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/13888758.VIDEO__Work_starts_on_Hereford_s_multi_million_pound_link_road/?cmpid=cmt Quote
Colin James Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 Yes we have an idea who this is already, nevertheless, it may cause some confusion. I have sent an email to all our members. Quote
Colin James Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 Get them removed asap Colin Well I am not that bothered but it is confusing but we have an idea who it is anyway, quite flattering really Quote
Roger Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I saw it and think that although technically probably within the rules' it should be removed (or adequately changed) to avoid any possibility of confusion. Quote
Bill Thomas Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Comes to something when someone has to start using names so close to other members, all I can say is you must be getting to them and yes take the flattery lol Quote
Adrian symonds Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I have seen them, but realised it was not Hereford Voice. Quote
Mick Posted October 24, 2015 Report Posted October 24, 2015 How pathetic and sad are some people Quote
DILLIGAF Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Has this been resolved yet Colin? Quote
Colin James Posted November 22, 2015 Author Report Posted November 22, 2015 Has this been resolved yet Colin? I will tell you all about it next time your over. Quote
Roger Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Has this been resolved yet Colin? Obviously not. They are posting today in the comments ... HT Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 And on the Clehonger PA report in the HT for 90 houses Quote
Roger Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 And on the Clehonger PA report in the HT for 90 houses I think the poster, who seems reasonably intelligent to my untrained eye, is being deliberately controversial. But fair enough! He/she has a point tho about housing. There is a chronic shortage Nationally and so do we try and protect a rare newt or meadow flower/hedge or get people housed? That said I wouldn't want it by me! Quote
Colin James Posted January 15, 2016 Author Report Posted January 15, 2016 The idiot is back HERE, so just to remind everyone HV account is just HV, no letters or symbols before the words or after. Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 One comment by him/them has now been removed by the Editor at my request. Off topic totally Roger Gladmans are a particularily ruthless development company and 70 plus houses have within the last couple of months already been passed in Clehonger. Again off topic just seen this Solar firm to build 8,000 homes with Chinese firm 15 January 2016 | By Yoosof Farah WElink Energy and China National Building Materials announce £1.1bn deal to build 8,000 affordable zero carbon homes in sites across UK Quote
Roger Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 One comment by him/them has now been removed by the Editor at my request. Was that the NIMBY comment? Never saw a lot wrong with it meself. But I can't remember what it said word for word ... Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Roger it was not the content of his comment everybody is entitled to their opinion it was the fact the he was using the sign in Herefords Voice. He has also been very busy on another article the one with the cyclist. Quote

He has also been very busy on another article the one with the cyclist. Yes I have also received an email and Denise is right it is their name not particularly what they are writing. The editor has advised them to change the name, which is really appreciated as it only leads to confusion (which was their obviously intent) Quote
dippyhippy Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 There are a lot of posters with similar names, over at HT. Wyecider and Wyesider are incredibly similar, and there are lots of Mr Hereford/Mr Herefordian Herefordian07 etc. I can't see HT banning a contributor just because they have opted for this name. It is different, if only by a little bit! Most regular readers/posters will have spotted the difference immediately.....I honestly don't think this is a conspiracy! Quote

Seems like half baked amateur hour moderating just to delete a post as opposed to suspending the username until he/she chooses a less confusing one ... Quote

dippyhippy Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Blimey. You may be right there Alex! Perhaps this is a deliberate attempt to confuse folks about posters! I wonder if this is the same person?? If it is, then they would appear to delight in mischief making! What next? Combo, Dennise Lloyd, ?? I guess the possibilities are endless....! Quote
dippyhippy Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Or Jesse Normal! Greenknite?? Twowheelgood? We could have a competition! It's either completely harmless... and somebody just doesn't have a very good imagination...(I had given them the benefit of the doubt... Hereford's Voice is a nice name!) Or, it's a wind up! I guess we'll have to keep our eyes peeled, for impersonations of other posting names! Quote
Bill Thomas Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 HT is becoming a joke, that just would not happen here because the admin would not allow it. HT should really have some rules and common sense in place. I do not post over there anymore for this reason. Quote
Frank Smith Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 I honestly don't think this is a conspiracy! Changed your view yet? I agree with Bill, it is not what it used to be. No moderators in place almost a free for all. They just delete posts that are reported. Quote
dippyhippy Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Err, yes Frank! Hence posts 26 and 28 above! I'm always happy to hold my hands up if I've made an error in judgement! As I said, giving 'whoever' the benefit of the doubt, was perhaps not the wisest decision! Quote
