jbfc Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Plenty of opportunity to do it, especially since the Spread Eagle sits between two other empty shops. This corner is beginning to look pretty despondent. Quote
Ubique Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 The lack of a planning application for FC signage has also not had the attention it required from enforcement - I'm assured this is now being addressed ... Will be interesting following these developments how much " enforcement " the Council officers put into this paint job ? Quote
adamski Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Notice on pub window, opening at 7pm Friday 2nd September!! Quote
Denise Lloyd Posted August 31, 2016 Author Report Posted August 31, 2016 What is it opening as and will it be by the same owners? Quote
adamski Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 The implication of the handwritten note is that it will just be opening as a pub, or at least, there's nothing to suggest otherwise! As for the same owners, I doubt that, this is a "PubCo" type lease premises. This often attracts new operators on a short term lease - sort of "suck it and see" approach to opening a pub. Time will tell....... Quote
twowheelsgood Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Will be interesting following these developments how much " enforcement " the Council officers put into this paint job ? Co-incidentally, I followed up my complaints to Planning Enforcement a couple of weeks ago as Freedom Church continue to abuse the planning system with no application submitted and of course the Spread Eagle left half painted. Yet another enforcement officer has left, and I've had no reply. Quote

Denise Lloyd Posted August 31, 2016 Author Report Posted August 31, 2016 Yes indeed TWG keep them well and truly on their toes Quote
adamski Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I saw there was a lot of work going on there recently. Anyone know if it's open, what it's like etc... Quote
twowheelsgood Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 It's been painted yet again, this time terracotta wall with black shopfront - it looks a whole lot better than the colours allegedly chosen by Planning and left half finished. Obviously they haven't bothered with anything so inconvenient as a planning permission, but hey ho. Quote
adamski Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I was just hoping against hope that we could see this establishment restored to its former glory. I'm talking decades ago. We could do with a really good, independent, steak house/pub in Hereford. It's HEREFORD for god's sake!! Quote
Colin James Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Apparently, the Spread Eagle opens next Saturday Quote
adamski Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Think it opened after the refurbishment on the 24th, but they have a planned "grand opening" sometime early this month. Quote
