Colin James Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 The garages in Usk Close Redhill are a complete disgrace! These unmaintained garages not only make the surrounding area look terrible but are also an advert to invite vandalism. Who owns or is responsible for these garages? Would this be Hereford Housing?
Frank Smith Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 OMG what a mess, how long have they been in this state?

Paul Jones Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Bring your own doors ha ha. I never realised they were like this, not been across here for a few years.
ragwert Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Possibility some are private as they used to sell garages connected to the sale of Council houses
Adrian symonds Posted December 14, 2015 Report Posted December 14, 2015 I bet they will be demolished, like the ones behind the College green shops.

You will probably find that the garages that are in desperate need of repair are the ones that are not currently not being rented! These are owned by Hereford Housing, not the Council. I have written to HH to highlight the poor state of these garages requesting that they be properly repaired and maintained.
Frank Smith Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 They must of been like this for some time by the look, what a shame.
Colin James Posted May 6, 2016 Author Report Posted May 6, 2016 I see that the garages that I previously photographed above have at least now been boarded up, this is a result of me highlighting this issue with HH however, I am surprised that HH chose to board them up rather than replace the broken doors with new making it all in keeping with the rest, boards to me only encourage graffiti and vandalism. Maybe they have ordered new doors..

Paul Jones Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 I'm not surprised at all that they have not been replaced looking at what happened to the last ones Well I feel sorry for the other people renting these garages, if they cannot be bothered to replace broken doors they may as well knock the lot down.
Denise Lloyd Posted May 7, 2016 Report Posted May 7, 2016 and build some one person bungalows or similar in the space - a nice bit of infilling could be done there
Irena Sulecka Posted May 7, 2016 Report Posted May 7, 2016 A little unfair on the people who are renting the other garages, if they repaired the broken door then it could encourage new tenants but as it is, I do not think I would feel confident about leaving my car in these garages.

All of the Council garages have 6ft 6" doors,ok if you have a mini but any other vehicle you have no chance of getting in and out properly. Most are used for storage
