twowheelsgood
Massive rises - 20, 30, 40% and more. Except Plough Lane staff car park, which got off quite lightly - why ever would that be? Didn't realise they took the revenue from Maylords Orchards car park - they flogged off the above ground leases years ago.

Ah.. but dont a lot of the Council staff actually use the 50p parking facility at the back of TPG Disable Aids which is a private facility? Roger
I see the newish car park at Station Approach is going from £3 to £5 for a days parking. That's getting towards a figure where people will think twice before using it. In addition if you tend to use it every day in the week (for work maybe) then it's cheaper to use the NCP railway station car park where a weeks pass is £23.20. That equates to £3.31 a day. Or £4.64 if you only need the parking Mon-Fri. Better still is the free parking opposite the railway station entrance by the Sorting Office post box. Seems to be a bit of a loophole there. Until they start building that new internal road to nowhere I suppose ... NCP

Some of these prices increases are far to high
twowheelsgood
£3 to £5 is a 66% increase! It's come to something when the NCP is cheaper than the Council!
megilleland
Except Plough Lane staff car park, which got off quite lightly - why ever would that be? From Hereford Live The proposals include an increase in parking charges for council staff. In June 2013, the council introduced a staff parking policy in which car park charges were payable in a number of main office car parks in Hereford. The office car parks which currently have staff car park charges in Hereford are at Plough Lane, County Offices (Bath Street), Shirehall and Town Hall. Business passes are available to staff who meet a strict criteria where they need to have continual access to their own vehicle on each day they are contracted to work, in order to deliver off site planned / reactive council services to clients, residents and businesses. These passes allow users user to park free of charge in the office car parks and designated public car parks whilst on business.
Roger
Park and Shop offer 08 February 2016 Shoppers visiting Hereford will be able to stay longer for less after 3pm in March 2016. Colin James
Shoppers visiting Hereford will be able to stay longer for less after 3pm in March 2016. The council’s Park and Shop offer allows shoppers to park in West Street, Gaol Street and Garrick multi-storey car parks in Hereford, purchase a one hour ticket between 3pm and 5pm and stay until 6pm every day throughout the month of March. Councillor Paul Rone, cabinet member transport and roads said: “We are keen to promote Hereford City as the vibrant and diverse shopping destination it has become in recent years. With the Old Market now fully let and High Town experiencing high occupation rates, we want to support shoppers to experience the full retail offer across the city. We hope that this parking offer will encourage people to stay longer and explore Hereford; not only the extensive range of independent retail outlets but also the thriving emerging independent food scene which I believe, complements the retail and leisure offer of Old Market.†Interesting, only for March though, obviously a trial but lets hope this incentive proves successful, they may decide to run it permanently. Roger
Interesting, only for March though, Very generous of Cllr. Rone to promote parking for shopping for 1 month out of 12. Although I'll concede that something might be done for late night shopping at Christmas ... For the shops that struggle to reach that point without having to close down ...
