The reality of the contemporary United Kingdom is of a Conservative Government (in Coalition and on its own) and two sets of ineffective Labour Opposition that have failed to live up to any realistic vision of effective, fair, democratic Rule of Law applied to the treatment of well-meaning contrarians, clear majorities, personal liberty, free speech and the provision of a decent standard of education, health, safety and living to all our demographics and cultures.

Economic and welfare policies have spectacularly failed to get within light years of their targets, and are opposed by a Party whose tired old ideas have failed before. Both major Parties are strangulated by archaic, dis-proven ideologies, and use a positively prehistoric method of indirect representative election to the legislature. They do this purely because they know that any well-constructed alternative would be their death-knell.

But go to the commercial breaks, and there you will find products and services developed to deal (albeit inappropriately) with the real world that these two behemoths have produced. A world in which planned governance has been evaded in return for power: financial regulation, planned retirement welfare, real job creation, reversing the slide in manufacturing, being honest about currency values, media law-breaking, corporate tax evasion, employment life-balance, multicultural problems, blatant ballot rigging, contempt for free speech, misogyny, racist narcissism, lawless litigation and all the other features of globalist corporatism that make it the worst possible system to tackle the myriad problems facing all the inhabitants of Planet Earth.

You will see, endlessly to the point of bored nausea and beyond:

* Loan sharks offering usury lending to get people through to payday.

* Dozens of 3rd World charities begging for “just £5 a month”.

* Equity Release from properties older citizens can’t sell and can’t afford.

* Direct response ads for gold by post and online.

* Lotteries and every other form of desperation gambling.

* Hard-sell campaigns by lawyers offering to screw everyone on your behalf.

No level of genius is required to see what abject failure by the politico-corporacratic class all this reflects. ‘Jobs’ that are trumpeted, but don’t support families. A chronic lack of investment and broad scale corruption in 3rd world government that our well-meaning ‘aid’ budgets only encourage. The embezzlement of 3.43 million State pensions without due notice or fairness. Lies about the solvency and spending power of currencies, when smart people of every age and both genders can see with their own eyes levels of inflation that make a mockery of official statistics. The sort of social alienation which, when confronted with media that seem to recognise only greed as a form of achievement, turns to gambling and drink. And a culture that increasingly refuses, on an individual level, to accept any responsibility at all when something bad happens.

To bring it all back to Brexit (and God knows, I wish with every sinew and brain synapse we didn’t have to) the final obscenity of the farce explodes all over the audience when Theresa May tells victims of austerity “there is no such thing as a money tree” – and then blithely hands over £39 billion to an unscrupulous bunch of demagogues in Brussels….quite needlessly, and for nothing in return.

And today we have another attempt to destroy or prolong the agony of a drawn out Brexit with the two head numpties shackling together a deal that benefits only their parties survival and sells us down the river.

Newport West by-election being held today . Hope the people give Parliament a clear message on Brexit. With eleven candidates standing it will be interesting to see how the voting splits - no doubt to the advantage of the two main parties.

After dozens of indicative votes that only gained the support of a handful of MPs, the House of Commons has finally voted in favour of the so-called “Narnia amendment” to the Brexit plan.

This amendment allows for MPs, instead of filing into either of the division lobbies to vote “Aye” or “Nay” to the proposal on offer, to go through the back of a wardrobe and out into a magical world where anything, no matter how contradictory, is possible.

However, they were warned to stay clear of the so-called Ice Queen whose touch is so cold it can drain the life out of any living thing, prompting one back-bencher to say “Bloody hell, Theresa May’s there already?”

Instead, they should put their trust in Boslan, a rather shaggy and unkempt lion who frequently lays down his own political life only to confound expectations by somehow coming back a short while later.

However, when MPs tried to put the plan into action, they found the wardrobe already full of Lib Dems, who acidly told them “Find your own closet, dearie, this one’s full…”

Turnout was down 30% on the last election. In reality, nobody wanted to vote for Corbyn's Labour, Theresa May's Conservatives or for Neil Hamilton's UKIP. The present voting system suits the two major parties and nothing will change toy town politics. The public need to get serious.

Brexit is fast turning into a Dog’s Breakfast and though I don’t have a lot of sympathy for Mother Theresa, I do feel that that villainous quartet of Barnier, Junker, Macron and Tusk have shown her very little mercy in these last few days.

With the annual May Fair due to arrive in town very shortly, I’d like to suggest that the operators rig up an extra stall, which I think would prove extremely popular with the crowds. It could be one of those old-fashioned shooting galleries with air rifles and lead pellets and there would only be 4 targets to hit to win a major prize: cut-out coloured tin profiles of the arch-villains of Brussels.

Recently some members of the Parachute Regt have been taken to task by their bosses , MPs and certain newspapers for apparently  using Corbyns face as a target whilst they were target shooting on the Range ...........perhaps somebody else would be more acceptable ? Start of another week of Brexit fudging. Does anyone remember E F Schumacher's book "Small is Beautiful - a study of economics as if people mattered" published 1973, an international best seller. He was a follower of author Dorothy L Sayers who wrote the Lord Peter Whimsey detective novels, but she was also a student of classical and modern languages and her translation of Dante's Divine Comedy was considered to be her best work.

By the mid-fifties E F Schumacher had developed an interest in Dante, and through Dante, had been introduced to the writing of Dorothy L. Sayers. Schumacher described Sayers as ‘one of the finest commentators on Dante as well as on modern society’ and quoted at length from her Introductory Papers on Dante, which had been published in 1954:

There was no deal on the referendum paper. As for the "Backstop" if Ireland allows a border to be created by the EU against the decision of the Good Friday agreement then the the Irish goverment have failed its people.

MPs took control of parliamentary business for a bill to prevent a no-deal Brexit. Jesse Norman and Bill Wiggin supported Boris. However 21 Conservative MPs went against Boris and will be collecting their P45's. Let's hope the British public don't screw up when the election is called and get Brexit finalised ie OUT.

We’ve got just over 600 parliamentary constituencies. Around 420 parliamentary seats voted to Leave. A pretty good working majority you’d think to Leave the Union and yet, because of the will of the ruling elite, the establishment, our celebrity culture and a highly organised Remain Protest Group, it never counted for anything.

Seems to me that Democracy only ever works when one side, the losers, accept the outcome of the vote. In this case nobody from the Remain side ever accepted this democratic vote and so we are now where we are. Knackered!

Well, you reap what you sow and in our forthcoming near future my guess is that now, because of all this, no election result will be safe from any contesting group who claim they were robbed. And why should people accept any electoral poll? If you don’t like the outcome, get yourself organised, create anarchy and aim to get your preferred Candidate placed in power. F.u.ck democracy and the notion that one vote from one person counts for something.

The next General Election, if you can be bloody bothered to waste your time and cast your vote? Then vote for the one who’s face you like, is least likely to burgle your home or kick you senseless outside the Commercial Ale House. It’s no more or less irrational than selecting the Candidate who you believe can represent you in Westminster and fulfill manifesto promises.

how many of you have heard of Tarshish?  it is mentioned over 20 in the bible it relates to a nation & that nation I believe is Britain if that is the case? Then it is undoubtedly assured that Britain will have a political separation from EU Europe given that the bible is 2/3 prophecy

Tarshish was also a source of tin a rare commodity although in ancient times a very sought after commodity as when you mix tin with copper you get bronze.

Anything to stop Brexit. Comment from The Slog.

Attorney General Cox assured Team Johnson that proroguing Parliament was “entirely lawful”, and objections to it “are nothing more than political rhetoric”.

These are the eleven judges who unanimously overturned that judgement….

Lady Brenda Hale (Chair) is a lifetime academic and former Law Professor who went straight into being a Judge with no history in commercial law at all. She is a feminist, a great believer in diversity, and a lifelong liberal. I would be amazed if she voted any other way than Remain.

Lord Robert Reed (Deputy) is a Scot who also sits on the EU’s European Court of Human Rights. He was an expert advisor to the EU/Council of Europe Joint Initiative with Turkey. No prizes for guessing where Rabbie’s sympathies lie.

Lord Brian Kerr is the former Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, and the first Catholic ever appointed to that post. In 2014, he had this to say in a lengthy interview:

“The Law has changed enormously since the enactment of the Human Rights Act. The central point about the Act is that it has given judges free access to the rich vein of jurisprudence that is provided by the Strasbourg Court…..we now have the ability to draw on jurisprudence from all over the Council of Europe on matters that critically affect the balance of power between the citizen and the state and I think that that can only be a good thing.”

Draw your own conclusions.

Lord Nicholas Wilson is left of centre and on the record as saying, ““In pursuit of its economic policy, the UK government has recently felt the need to dismantle much of our welfare state, namely social security and the National Health Service.” He is a passionate supporter of the ECHR in Strasbourg. The activist site Divorce & the City is currently preparing to impeach Lord Wilson for alleged corruption and ‘pro State’ bias. He is, reputedly, not a fan of Boris Johnson or Brexit.

Lord Robert Carnwath is an unknown quantity who appears never to have expressed an opinion about anything, except he sits on the advisory council of the English School in Poland.

Lord Patrick Hodge is another Scot. He was a civil servant in the 1970s, and then Counsel to the Department of Energy from 1989 to 1991, and to the Inland Revenue from 1991 to 1996. Ergo, chummy with the unelected State, 99.99% of whom are anti-Brexit. I’d imagine he’s also a wow at parties.

Lady Jill Black is unique in the Supreme Court in not having been to Oxbridge. You can see from this just how inclusive the Court is, and thus totally in touch with the average person.

Lord David Lloyd-Jones is another scholar who wound up a judge. He was a Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge from 1975 to 1991. From 1999 to 2005, he was a visiting professor at City University, London, and was then put onto The Bench. He has always specialised in international  and EU law. Only two months ago, in a Supreme Court hearing involving Kuoni Travel, Lloyd-Jones ruled that EU Law had primacy in the case. He gave the judgement in Welsh, which was a first. Highly unlikely to have voted to leave a Union in whose law he specialises, one could reasonably argue.

Lady Mary Arden became a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague in 2011, and sits as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg blah blah yawn etc. In 2015 she published a book about the impact of the EU and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on the domestic law of the UK. 

Not a Leaver then, we suspect. This is all getting terribly predictable, isn’t it?

Lord David Kitchin coxed the team that won the 1975 Boat Race for Cambridge. More pertinently, he has for many years been a strong advocate of more harmonisation of the Law between EU jurisdictions. In May this year, he gave an interview offering the following opinion in relation to patent law, in which he is a specialist:

“The situation is improving and that is because there is now much more discussion and communication between judges in different countries. Judges now meet regularly to discuss these and other difficult issues. We consider each other’s judgments; all of us attach importance to the decisions of the Technical Boards of Appeal and the Enlarged Boards of Appeal at the European Patent Convention….there might not be jurisdiction to make references to the EU Court of Justice in these cases, or any cases after Brexit.”

And so this would be a bad thing, wouldn’t I? Get real: Lord Kitchin is a Good European who lectures about legal alignment in the EU.

Lord Philip Sales really is a case of leaving the best until last. Sales has had something of a meteoric rise: he is the youngest of the Supreme Court judges, and was a practising barrister at 11 King’s Bench Walk – according to The Guardian ‘a network of old boys and cronies’ that enabled him to be appointed First Counsel at the Treasury…a department of State with a long and grubby history of undying support for the EU. The recommendation that he be appointed came from Lord Irvine and Tony Blair’s old chambers.

Philip Sales is New Labour through and through. In 2016, he was a member of the Court of Appeal which ruled that 130,000 Labour members who joined the party after 12 January 2016 would not be able to vote in the leadership contest. This overruled the previous High Court decision to allow the 130,000 disenfranchised Labour Party members to vote in the 2016 Labour Party leadership election. In short, it was a bid by the Blairites to keep Corbyn out.

Finally, he was one of the three judges forming the High Court in proceedings concerning the use of the royal prerogative for the issue of notification in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, R (Miller) v Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. His role in this judgment meant that he appeared in an infamous front-cover of the Daily Mail  – Enemies of the People – as a solid-gold Remainer.

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom reflects the liberal élite Establishment to the letter. It is 90.9% Oxbridge, its members are willing participants in European institutions the Government has always found questionable, and it does not reflect in any way at all a decision by the People in 2016 to leave the European Union. The last thing the Supreme Court does – whatever Lady Hale’s propensities might be – is reflect British diversity or democracy.

It has voted unanimously to overrule an Attorney General and the Queen’s Prime Minister. In doing so, it has failed to take cognisance of the blatant attempt by some 415 MPs, the UK media, Whitehall and Brussels itself to both interfere in and ultimately block a supreme decision-making role, awarded by a majority of MPs, for the British People to take a decision on Brexit.

The Prime Minister’s wish to prorogue Parliament (one of the longest-standing in history) was to in turn defend democracy by blocking the sabotage of 415 in favour of 17.4 million citizens. Neither I, you, nor any of these Supreme Court Judges can know what his motives beyond that might have been….let alone whether he misled the Queen or not.

Lady Hale’s scathing summation of the decision to prorogue was light on precedent Law, and seemed in denial about several other instances of it being used – most notably by John Major, the hypocrite now ludicrously demanding that Boris Johnson apologise to the Queen.

This is a terrible precedent, and one day these eleven people will live to regret very bitterly their decision to side with the unelected State, indulge in conjecture, present it as fact, and side with an undemocratic bloc.

They are on the wrong side of history here, and whatever one’s views about Johnson might be, it is for the time being the duty of every genuine liberal democrat – including Nigel Farage – to give the Prime Minister their support in this, a time of deplorable anarchy. It is nothing less than the preface to corporatocracy, and the Supreme Court has foolishly awarded entrance to those who support the right of might.

The Brexit Coordinator for the European Parliament took to Twitter to demand an EU military. He claimed that the US is “not a reliable ally anymore” with Donald Trump as President.

Almost a year to the day. Does this come with Boris's latest deal. We need another warfare organisation to join the US and NATO to guarantee full employment for those displaced when the bombs start falling.
