A previous application for retail and flats on what was known as the Old Market Gateway looks to have been
shelved.

PREMIER INN has submitted plans for a new 65-bedroom hotel to be built in Blackfriars Street in Hereford City Centre, opposite the Old Market. 

 

If the plans are passed, once the hotel is built it would generate 25 jobs. 

 

Plans include proposal for hotel, restaurant and car park.

DFKE own the land.They have leased it to Whitbread

I am sure that this is part of the new HFC stand at the Blackfriars end.

The site is the other side, from HFC, of the access road from Blackfriars Street into Merton Meadow. I don't think you would get a very good view....
