H.Wilson Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 Good it might tidy up this area. More jobs for people too. 1
Ubique Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 Appears a very good location for a hotel . 1
Alex Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 This will be good for business people too. 1 1
megilleland Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 Let's hope they tarmac a decent surface down to Widemarsh Street. 1

ragwert Posted March 13, 2018 Report Posted March 13, 2018 It looks like the original planning application for the Social housing is still going ahead. The hotel will replace the retail units originally proposed in the first application.
H.Wilson Posted March 14, 2018 Report Posted March 14, 2018 Hereford has a lack of modern decent hotels, this ticks all those boxes. 1
SON OF GRIDKNOCKER Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 Ticks all the boxes, including the one marked: "Looks like an army barracks".

It's a hotel... I am sure it will look a lot better than is there currently, hopefully this will encourage HFC to tidy up the stadium
twowheelsgood Posted July 8, 2019 Report Posted July 8, 2019 With the scaffold down, some of the worst quality face brickwork I have ever seen is now on view. The workmanship is just appalling. It's even worse than the photo suggests! 1
Aylestone Voice Posted July 8, 2019 Report Posted July 8, 2019 Frankly I was not very impressed with design of the HHA flats but compared to this they are an architectural gem. Setting aside the design the choice of the colour of the brickwork and the finish are truly awful
ragwert Posted July 8, 2019 Report Posted July 8, 2019 How the look of this shower of shite got through planning I'll mever know.
twowheelsgood Posted July 8, 2019 Report Posted July 8, 2019 Here's another. Look at the brickwork between the third and fourth bays from the left - the quoins are a completely different coloured brick (that happens in the first photo above as well) it's not intentional, just no care in picking and sorting the bricks.
Roger Posted July 8, 2019 Report Posted July 8, 2019 Punters' are after cheap and cheerful functioning rooms. This facility ticks those boxes. Guests will not be arsed if a 'brick' could have been selected more carefully to make the building look more aesthetic. What people want is a painless hotel experience. And wi fi. That aside .... The appearance and design is poor here. In fact dreadful. In my opinion. As for use of the site ..... It could have been used for permanent social [flats] housing for people on some sort of list. But it's a hotel. The option chosen is low risk. Promotes tourism. Keeps out riff raff 'tenants'.

I use them! There is an army of cleaners'. In my experience they [cleaners] all have a usual demographic. Minimal non cleaning staff up front.

The constructed elevation does not match the plan in your first post [pic] from the plan!
