Roger
Who knows? Hopefully Rotherwas but sherborne is closer!! If you can't pin some fly tipped rubbish on a person then eventually The Council will have to cart it away ..... Just what happens after several weeks of moaning .... Glenda Powell
The council doesn't remove rubbish in these areas as the housing belongs to Herefordshire Housing, you can now add Pixley Walk to these area. I asked HH when the redevelopment started round the Oval if the green waste bins from the flats could be put into these areas, they didn't take any notice in fact the developers are crushing them as they pull each block of flats down, I have seen them doing it on a daily basis as I live close to the development. Denise Lloyd
Perhaps not the best place to put this but it will do. Does this mean that some of those grossly overpaid coffee swilling suits are about to start feeling a bit twitchy but I suppose they could always come back as consultants or temps Bibliophile Retweeted Shirley Burnham â€@ShirleyBurnham 37 mins37 minutes ago The ‘atomised’ council is here to stay ... http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/dec/02/atomised-council-stripped-basics-services-future-local-government … Who wants to be implicated in this process, or complicit in it? @VftL_UK
megilleland
Bearing in mind that the flytipping on the pathway has now been there for 4 months (See post 90 - 3rd August 2015), it is obvious that Herefordshire Housing has no inspection policy regarding the cleanliness of their estates or any plan to maintain and clean up these areas in the future. People are beginning to think this mess is a permanent art installation.
Glenda Powell
Having spoke to the HHL estates manager for Newton Farm on another matter yesterday (Fri) he mentioned the fly tipping and I asked when is it going to be cleared as it had been there for months. He said the fly tipping behind the electric station on the fields is Herefordshire council area, which he assured me he has reported to them. I did tell him again about Sherborne close, Pixley walk and the garages in Brampton road, and that it has been there quite some time, I told him if he wanted further clarification to come on here and see the pictures and comments!. megilleland
Not much action for two years since the last post above - gave up complaining. Any way the cavalry are on their way. Glenda Powell
Is this the Newton farmers group that was started up before the election in 2015? as I haven't seen them in action for long time
ragwert
Fly tippers, bane of my life for the past 8 months whilst looking after what is left of Holmer Trading Est. I have caught four people red handed tipping rubbish, another left some junk mail in his name so I went around to his home and told him to remove it within 24hrs while he was protesting that it was not him.Hey presto,24hrs later it was gone. The police were called around 1am in the morning when a neighboring house saw headlights of a large van.Police caught them and told me they had came from Gloucestershire to dump rubbish. We now have Harris fencing all down left side but they still come and dump rubbish. megilleland
Good job done in cleaning up the footpaths/verges around Muir Close garages and Sherborne Close electric sub-station today organised through Alexandra Nicholas from Herefordshire Housing with Hereford Community Clean Up Group. 49 sacks of overgrown hedges and kerbs today within Newton Farm Ward. Compare pics in Post 131 above to see difference.
Glenda Powell
This was excellent work done if there was only the five people in the picture. I notice Cllr Rone was in the picture, who was the man in the red cap picture blurred.
Denise Lloyd
I would say more likely 4 people Cllr Rone does not look like he got stuck in might be wrong but I don't think so. The other 4 must have worked very hard to achieve that well done just hope it will be kept tidy now. It makes so much difference when you live in a clean tidy environment

megilleland
I took the photo later in the afternoon. There had been several other people helping out so altogether about 8 people. I didn't realise that Cllr Rone was present, but I can vouch that he did contribute to the action. Glenda the man in the red cap was Phil Edwards. It just shows what can be done. If this good work continues I will have to change the title on this thread to "I told you it would get better"! I notice that this topic has been viewed 31,125 times - lets hope it encourages others to get involved. I have tried to get our local shop to stock a few litter pickers, but nothing for sale so far.
