Hereford Voice Posted March 5, 2022 Report Posted March 5, 2022 The Welsh Marches Express, pulled by the 7029 Clun Castle locomotive, will start its journey today at Tyseley Locomotive Works, near Birmingham. It will arrive in Hereford at 11:01 this morning. Photo Credit | Paul Williams The train will speed along Great Western Railway main lines with authentic steam motive power, following a circular route: Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Welsh borders line through Craven Arms and past Stokesay Castle, pausing at Hereford to visit the city, climbing Llanvihangel bank, journeying through the Severn tunnel, then along Brunel’s Bristol to London Great Western Main Line and returning via Oxford and a climb over Hatton bank.
