Have had a good chuckle about this as a relative newby to site. It looks like Maple or perhaps Ash and it needs the stump treated as the roots are under that concrete. Heh at least it's not Japanese Knotweed.

On another thread it has been mentioned that this area (Oval Flats) will undergo some serious upgrading ... Unclear as to whether this persistent weed is included in the equation ...

Well Roger if it was Japanese Knotweed they would probably knock the structure down and take several tonnes of soil away to boot. A friend of mine had it creep into his garden from a railway embankment and landed up with a £20K underpinning repair bill!
