    Well in fairness to our Councillors I actually emailed them all invites over the weekend, these are the ones who have chosen to register and join HV, so lets cut them a little slack eh.. otherwise they will be gone before they have chance to say or do anything!

    Upon reflection you are probably right, so annoying that these planners never thought it through properly in the first instance. I travel the country with my job and other cities seem to have a better understanding of how to make it work, I appreciate it is a bigger city but Cabot Circus in Bristol is a perfect example of how it should be done in my opinion. Modern glass buildings that are attractive and easily accessable, I was totally in favour of a new modern shopping complex with cinema etc in Hereford but all I see at the moment is an ever increasing large red brick wall with a roof that almost replicates the old cattle market or some industrial units in Rotherwas...

    They had the opportunity to build a footbridge when Maylord's and the multi-storey car park were built, so what was the excuse back then? Poor planning! This should of been part of the planning conditions/agreement for the new Old Market development, no wonder the retailers in the City Centre are fed up! I still think it should be considered and I will be doing all I can to draw attention to this simple compromise with existing traders and connecting the two. The multi-storey was built mainly for Maylord Orchards, this car park now serves both, so I cannot see what the problem is to be honest. A glass roofed footbridge directly from the multi-storey car park. Shoppers, retailers and visitors to our City would have the best of both worlds, they can visit the Cathedral and the surrounding pretty cobbled streets, admire the Old House and City Centre but with ample parking and direct access to the Old Market Development and Cinema's etc, It's a no brainer

    Police are appealing for information about a sexual assault in Hereford as a woman was using a cash machine. It happened outside the HSBC Bank in High Town, at about 2.35am on Saturday, 31st August. The 21-year-old victim had withdrawn some money when she was grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground but managed to get the man off her and get to her phone to call 999 at which point the man then ran off through High Town in the direction of Commercial Street. She described him as Asian, 5ft 6ins in height, of slim to average build and with short dark brown hair. At 12.45am on Monday, 2nd September, police were alerted to a man seen acting suspiciously near a woman using the cash machine at the Natwest Bank in Commercial Street. A man was arrested nearby, but police are trying to trace the woman. Detective Constable Mel Reynolds of West Mercia Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the first incident when the town was quite busy, despite the time of night. Pubs and clubs were closing and there were lots of taxis in the area at the time. “We are also trying to trace the woman in the second incident as she may have information which would be of benefit to the inquiry.” A man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and is currently on bail pending further inquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Reynolds at Hereford CID on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incidents 94-s-310813 or 17-s-020913 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

    Urban village group have had their plans for a 10 one bedroom apartments next to the Freedom Church in Coningsby Street Hereford.

    Here is a link to the Old Market Website, I thought that they would of come up with a more modern attractive name other than 'Old Market' and I was expecting new modern glass fronted buildings, but it looks like it's mainly bricks.. Why on earth has nobody had the sense to built a glass roofed 'footbridge' from the new 'Old Market' complex over the main road directly into Maylord Orchards or somewhere near Tesco's? Thus having the best of both worlds and connecting the City Centre, instead of possibly isolating it. (This is what they have done at Cabot Circus in Bristol and it works perfectly) This would also be safer for pedestrians, and would also not interfere with the traffic flow by having pedestrian lights stopping the traffic.
