This never came to anything then...

That's an unacceptable response from Amey in my opinion, so basically this letter that he sent to you back in July; Was to just fob you off! Because clearly they have done NOTHING! That's even more evident is his reply to you today, oh it's a 'Balfour Beatty' problem now, what's the betting they will not recognise Amey's work reference numbers or something stupid! So when you contact them again Councillor in September it will probably take another month, so half a year to replace one little duck warning sign, I have no words...

Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
I have now unlocked all the new forums. Most of the updates have been completed, hence the forum being offline for a few hours but there are still a few more to do during the course of this week. -
Belmont Voice About To Get A Whole Lot Bigger!

Councillor, do not worry about me, while I appreciate your concerns, I am not bound by any silly rules and regulations like Councillors, so I am free to say and do what I like and that is what they do not like. -

I have already set up just the 7 wards, I did this a month ago, members cannot see the hidden forums and their layout just yet, still working on all the various forums permissions and settings and believe me there are lots of them -

Themes, so you have a choice from the Standard, Social - Social is the default theme but to change to one of the others, simply scroll down to the bottom left hand corner of the site and select Change Theme, a drop down box will appear showing you 3 options (ignore the mobile theme, that is used when surfing the web on a mobile phone or device)simply select the one you want to use, if you don't like it, simple follow the process again and change it back. The default Social theme has a colour selection very cleverly within, simply scroll to the top of the forum when the Social theme is being used and you will see 3 colours Pink|Blue|Green click on any of them and watch what happens. -

I will be upgrading the whole site over the next few weeks, so if you see the odd glitch please just ignore it until I announce that the upgrading process is complete. I will be extending the site to cover the whole of Hereford, I have been asked to do this quite a few times by some members and I think it's the only way forward, if we are to continue growing our membership. I have registered another domain herefordvoice.co.uk - Hereford Voice will be our new name If there is anything that you would like to see or forums that you would like added or any features you think you would like, now is the time to ask and If I can accommodate, of course, I will. You may see the forum turned off from time to time but this is quite normal when upgrading (can't start a process if a member is in the middle of posting) but once that particular section has been completed the forum will be turned back on, so you may see new features popping up. Finally, if you look at the forums as they normally would appear click HERE (You will see the top 6 recent posts at the top then all of the various forums listed below, on here however, I have what is called a 'Portal' installed, (Front Page) which allows articles and pictures to appear just like a newspaper, I also need to upgrade this, so again, if everything looks like it has disappeared, don't worry, it's only me messing with the Portal, just go into the forums as normal, photo's and files still appear inside individual topics. Any questions, just ask.

Why am I not surprised Chris... Councillor Vaughan-Powell is now on the case so it will be sorted

Well instead of the road sweeper coming around Belmont and Newton Farm on a Monday, it would make more sense as Biomech has mentioned to come AFTER the refuse has been collected, so ideally, Tuesday afternoon or better still on the Wednesday or Thursday. We have a big problem with sea gulls and cats ripping open black bags and although the bin men carry brooms on their lorry, I am yet to see them used, I say this because last week they just took the rubbish and left the chicken carcass and used tea bags on the roadside from my neighbour. I like the idea of black Wheelie Bins for household waste, this would stop the cat and sea gull problem!

Tutorial Tutorial: How To Create New Topic & Add A File/Photo
Colin James posted a topic in Open Forum
To add a picture/photograph to a new topic do the following; First of all, you need to select the correct forum or most appropriate, to do this go to the top of the front page and select Forums from the drop down box in the Navigation tab. (or click on the word Forums on the right hand side menu) You then need to select the Forum that you want to use (i.e. The Oval, which is a sub forum of the Newton Farm forum) Once inside the chosen Forum (In this case The Oval) select Start New Topic You will now be in the posting screen (the area where you type your post) Select an appropriate topic title (please use your imagination and keep it as brief as possible but clearly it needs to represent the main topic in question, so please do not just put something like HELP, something more appropriate would be i.e. Help Required Disposing Of Old Bed) you can also add Topic Tags (Click it and you will see various choices, select as many that are appropriate, this makes it easy when searching for topics in the future)but it is not essential. Type your message in full then near the bottom left hand side you will see Attach Files underneath this you will see Choose File, click this tab and choose your file or photograph, then you need to click Attach This File, you will then see a little circle spinning while your file is uploaded, once uploaded click Add to Post Then it will look something like this That's it!! You need to do this for each file or photograph that you add, then just click Post New Topic at the bottom. -

I immediately rang Mr Powell asking for the timescale of priority 3 works, he said no specific time, I then pointed out that it had been over 3 months since my original requests and felt that was sufficient time for a priority 3 works to be carried out, he stated he would go away and see if he could move the request forward. Sign has still not been replaced, another month has passed since your correspondence with Amey, so over 4 months now just to replace one little tiny sign.

Amey works to be carried out in Newton Farm and Belmont
Colin James replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Open Forum
Well the stumps or rather tree's again have not been touched Glenda. They have made what I would consider a pretty poor job of it, compare the pictures above with the ones from a few years ago and you will see, this looks like a real rush job, last time they took 2 days, okay they came back I think 4 days later but in total it was 2 days. I did not even see them arrive or leave this time so they could not of been her for too long... Can you get them back to cut the stumps?- 26 replies

I think I know what you are trying to get at but normally in business you pay VAT on the difference between what you buy and what you sell. As for the consumer we have already all paid income tax in theory so why we have to pay again, again and again is also in my opinion daylight robbery.

Here is a good example because it really makes very little difference whether you are registered or not, its swings and roundabouts

Colin James replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Open Forum
This is the years completed work compare it to the last time they did it, although we are grateful you have to admit not done anywhere near the same standard as last time, did not cut the grass this time either as that was done at the same time last time, still better than nothing.- 26 replies
