  1. You don't see this everyday in Hereford
  2. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING!!! Read all of this here
  3. They play the percentage game and that most people would just pay it.
  4. Both your friend and Alex are correct IGNORE IT for now and certainly Don't pay it! As it is not a ticket! It is merely a 'Speculative Invoice' there are loads of forum discussions about these scams. You have not committed any offense and you’ve been ticketed by a private company whose tickets have no status unless a case is brought at the expense of the issuer in a civil court. Under no circumstances get involved in any so-called "appeals procedure". The "charge" is alleged under contract law. Despite what they may call it, what you have is an "invoice" (a decidedly dodgy one at that) from a private parking company who allege you have breached their terms and conditions by failing to park in accordance with their rules. The ticket is not backed up by statute, unlike those issued by councils and police. The “ticket” is virtually unenforceable and the truth is that the Parking Company will probably not even try to enforce it by legal action. Instead they will use debt collectors who will threaten references to credit agencies, personal visits by bailiffs and removal of property. These threats have no foundation. The reality is they would need to bring civil litigation in the county court against the driver and prove a breach of prominently displayed terms and conditions. They will go to the DVLA to identify the registered keeper of the vehicle but you have no responsibility to tell them who was driving (even if it was you) and enforcement can only take place against the driver. These cases are largely dealt with by threats and bluster rather than any real action on the basis that most people pay up to avoid hassle. Completely IGNORE them, you may get a few threats but they will eventually go away. What you have is a "Speculative Invoice" look it up. Don’t be a mug – stand firm don’t be bullied. 7. Yes I would be happy for any help with any of the above, I have been a little inactive recently due to a slipt disc, so struggling a bit but still driving around and working, hence why I have not managed to replace the signs on the Belmont Road yet. But any help would be appreciated.
  8. Royal Mail is the single largest deliverer of unaddressed junk mail in the UK; roughly one in four leaflets is pushed through the letter box by the postman. The opt-out form Royal Mail will send you can be found here: Opt Out Application.pdf Please note that filling out and sending this form will not speed up the process of opting out. Royal Mail will simply send you a new form to complete – just one example of how needlessly complicated the opt-out process currently is. After you have completed the form Royal Mail will post to you, your postman should stop delivering unaddressed items within six weeks. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail or write to Royal Mail yourself: optout@royalmail.com Freepost RRBT-ZBXB-TTTS Door to Door Opt Outs Royal Mail Kingsmead House Oxpens Road OXFORD OX1 1RX Consequences of opt out At the moment, Royal Mail is allowed to deliver three unaddressed items per household per week (a limitation that is likely to be scrapped). The main consequence of opting out is therefore that 150+ fewer leaflets per annum will be pushed through your letter box. It should be noted, however, that according to Royal Mail many of the 150+ items are unlikely to be unwanted. The opt-out form therefore warns you that if you decide to opt out, you may miss 'important information from local and national Government'. Our advice is to simply ignore this warning. It is unlikely that important information is ever sent using the door-to-door scheme, if only because more and more people are opting out. If local or national Government has something important to tell you, for instance about elections, they will make sure that the information is widely available. Door-to-door leaflets are just one of many ways in which local and national Government can communicate.
  9. This made me smile so I thought I would share it with you all...
  10. The traffic lights were out of order again all morning yesterday and again no traffic issues, I wonder when they will get the message... Great Quote:
  11. I noticed that the lights were out of order again this morning and guess what...THERE WERE NO TRAFFIC QUEUES!
  12. Spot on Bob, the government need to get back to basics again
  13. Yes Bob, I have just been reading about these idiots online.
  14. Here are some more images
  15. This must of happened last night. This is disgusting and it is clearly now getting worse! The Police need to start patrolling in this area more in order to catch these vandals!
  16. As I have said before my Fiancee is Polish, she just thinks it's quite sad and just laughs, it does not really bother her. What bothers her more is that people are that ignorant that they just assume every European person they see or hear they assume is Polish, when in fact most of the time they are either Romanian,Latvia, Lithuanian or from Portugal or in some cases even Russian.
  17. I noticed this on the wall next to the bus stop along Abbotsmead Road. I am surprised that nobody else has reported it yet, not sure how long it has been there, maybe it was done at the same time as the welcome to Hereford sign? certainly looks like the same style again
  18. I see that the Welcome to Hereford sign has been defaced yet again! Looking at the style of writing I would bet that this is the same idiot! I have reported this to Herefordshire council today and given the reference number CAS/222865 I was told that Amey will be informed.
  19. I have been thinking of a few idea's especially about a paper petition, think they run separately, however, I think we can still join the numbers. Would just need some help knocking on doors. I did think about walking through the cars on the Belmont Road between 7.45-9.30am a few mornings... Not sure what to do but need to get more people signing, I have advertised this on my Facebook, the more people that we can get pushing this the better my friend.
  20. And that one on the Great Western Way was only cut with an angle grinder and left protruding very sharp above the surface, See this post I will have a look around over the Xmas holiday and report back and maybe then if still nothing is done write to the Hereford Times, I am quite happy to name, shame and quote people.
  21. My letter of reply is in this week's Hereford Journal.
  22. Maybe they would not have to put our costs up if they reduced the amount of council offices that they have! It's ridiculous! Town Hall St Owen Street Franklin Barnes Building Commercial Road (how much was wasted on the now vacant Garrick House?) Planning Offices in Blue School Street Large Offices in Plough Lane (Former HP Bulmer Offices) Brockington Hafod Road Oval Offices Council Offices Widemarsh Street There are loads more, come on guy's remind me where they all are, think we need to remind the Hereford Times about all of these various buildings and costs!
  23. I see my little campaign in several other publications I4U News Autoballa
  24. I have also replied to Mr Brian Phillips Letter in this week's Hereford Journal
