I was talking with a young guy who cycled into this post and hurt himself the other week. I am surprised that he has not taken legal action for some sort of compensation. This post is well redundant and seems to serve no purpose, so why is it still there? obviously dangerous in this case... While I have been out and about, I have noticed that there are lots of dead unsightly posts. Why is this? is it that Amey or who ever is responsible can't be bothered to remove them or what? I found another here near the top of Newton Farm, on the walkway down towards the school and another one here near the 'hardly ever open waste of money' Newton Farm police station. I am sure there must be plenty more, feel free to add any that you find, can these be removed at some stage?

And how often has the police station been open full time within that period? complete waste of money in my opinion.
-
What a waste of money this police station has been. Has it ever been open? When was the police station opened?

As nobody seems to read updates (that is when a story re-appears back to the top, it means someone has replied to it, regardless of how old the topic is. So if you see a topic re-appear at the top please read it)I have created this addtional post at Victors request;

Report from initial meeting of the Website Working Party. (Taken from Sept 2011 minutes) Members have been provided with a copy of the initial report from the Website Working Party which recommended: that the parish council pursue the option of creating its own website, rather than use another community site that a .gov domain be obtained to confirm that the site is a formal site for Belmont Rural Parish Council that the initial site be kept as an informational site only but with an option to develop into a more interactive site at a later date and that consideration be given to ensuring that maintenance of the site is sufficiently user friendly to keep the time required for updating to a minimum. Members noted comments from a member of the public in attendance at the meeting that a community website managed by Mr. Colin James could be used for parish council purposes, and Mr. James comments that parish councillors could use the website forum as a means of communicating with members of the public, which he felt was more appropriate than the electronic noticeboard being proposed by members of the working party. After a brief discussion, and noting in particular the recommendations of the National Association of Local Councils on this subject, it was agreed that the recommendations of the website working party be accepted and that the working party be authorised to progress this by obtaining a .gov domain name and setting up a draft site for Members approval at a later date. It was further agreed that a provisional budget of £100.00 be agreed to support this activity.

Colin James replied to Adrian Bridges's topic in Newton Farm

Ok folks I think we have exhausted all these arguments. Can we please get back to the main topic of recyling.

I am totally confused as to why Jim Key does not seem to know the source? We all know it is serwage! Councillor Powell is also aware and so is Rob Hemblade. This was partially addressed in this topic July 2010 over a year ago in an email from Mark Schoffer to Rob Hemblade Here is the culprit

Yes Bill, the water flows where I have put the arrows. Glenda, I think you mean the Newton Brook, not the Withy Brook, but yes it looks a lot better now, I had several conversations and meetings on site with Neil Davies, who was very helpful in getting all that I requested sorted for me. It looks much better and a lot more light coming through again now, just as it used to be 21 years ago even a few of the neighbours said how much better it looks, which is great.
-
To be fair, Neil Davies has been very helpful, he was here again yesterday and we had a chat, loads of the tree's and brambles have been cleared, we decided between us which ones needed clearly. Neighbours are all really happy, lots of light now again, just like it used to be, have a look

Ok two team members arrived back around 1pm. Neil Davies has just called in to see me, which was very kind of him, he is calling the rest of the team up to help out this afternoon. Excellent!! and what a gorgeous day too
-
Just a quick update. As I thought they have been disappaeared for a while due to a nail in the tyre, apparently Neil is going to call in on me later, but the team will be back today.
-
Hummm, Amey have been this morning and cleared away the branches and did some cutting back, but left about 30 mins ago, so they were here no more than 80mins, I have rang and left a message for Neil to give me a call as what we discussed has not been completed, I can only assume that the team have been called away and that they will be back later?
-
Glenda, yes they were Amey staff! I have today met with Neil Davies from Amey who informed me that the reason that the tree's have not been collected is because 2 members of the pilot team needed training to be able drive with a trailer (wood chipper) and that they will be returning tomorrow. We also both agreed on several area's that need additional work to be carried out before the job is completed, which will happen tomorrow at the same time. Thank you Neil for all your help today.

It is now Wednesday and nobody has been here since last week.
-
It is now 5.50 on Monday 26th and it looks like nobody came today, so all the cut branches are still there. They have been scatterred around over the weekend, by kids I think, so I have put them back into a neat pile.

You cannot put foil in the wheelie bins and it has been like that ever since I had my bin delivered. H Wilson is completely correct in the above post, stickers were provided to all households, so if you have the plain white sticker then you should have the rest as it was all in one sealed pack. Go Here for full details. I have also attached a PDF file of exactly what you can and cannot recycle recycling_guide.pdf

Adrian, if you right click on any of the images you should be able to download them.

Mmm maybe I should of waited before posting yesterday, when I got home yesterday afernoon, I was suprised to see the field half full of the cut tree's But I did not leave any comment as I assumed that their lorry was probably full and they would come back today to finish the job...WRONG! 5.50pm and nobody from Amey has been near today so looks like this little lot is here for the weekend. Lets hope no idiots set fire to it eh..
