  1. The hypocrisy of the left .....
  2. Well said Bobby, I could not agree more.
  3. An unreal amount of rubbish, great job guy's especially in this heat today. Thank you everyone, here are half the team from today
  4. Belmont community action day loads of progress at Glastonbury Close Well done to Tracy Bowes, Derek Preedy, Neil Hooper, Mandy Preedy and a local chap called Mark. I was not aware until I saw the post on Facebook otherwise I would of most definitely been helping out. A great job clearing many years of rubbish and overgrown bushes and grass. Thank you to all the team who worked so very hard today.
  5. A row has broken out between Labour’s new Kensington MP Emma Dent Coad and her Conservative predecessor over the Grenfell Tower fire. Ms Dent Coad, below, has accused Tory-led Kensington and Chelsea council of failures that led to the blaze, claiming “poor-quality materials and construction standards have played a part in this hideous and unforgivable event”. But as a councillor she was on Kensington and Chelsea’s housing scrutiny committee, which oversees “community safety issues”, until May 2014. A 2014/15 report, in which she is named, says the committee scrutinised work on Grenfell Tower. Full Story
  6. Victims from the Grenfell Tower disaster have met with Theresa May in Downing Street. This was Prime Minister's second meeting with those affected by Wednesday morning's fire, which was described as "unprecedented" by London's Fire Brigade Commissioner.
  7. No real surprises here then Glen, they have wanted to close it since it was first opened.
  8. To be honest, I think the media have done a complete u turn and now it seems that Corbyn can do no wrong and even though the PM did everything right and put more money and also immediately ordered a public enquiry, she is still in the firing line. Personally, I think a lot of people are seeking "credit" through this tragedy, including the likes of Lilly Allen.
  9. The English Audio shop was a general store before it became English Audio
  10. The Kamal has been an Indian restaurant for the past 33 years and originally opened in May 1982. I am pretty sure it was a restaurant prior to this but not 100%. English Audio, was a commercial property before it came English Audio, I know Adrian English pretty well, so I will have to ask him. As for the commercial properties in Eign Gate, yes many do not look the best however, a revamp is what is required here not flats! The butterfly hair salon had a revamp last year and looks excellent in fairness. It is 2 doors along now from the old Butterfly that you see in the photograph.
  11. Kamal Indian Restaurant before and after; Now English Audio Whitecross Road Before Now Magenta Holme Lacy Road: Before Now
  12. I cannot help but notice that more and more commercial properties are having a change of use to become residential. Personally, I would prefer to see an empty property being used however, for me, it is about finding that balance between satisfying the need for homes or allowing the constant shrinking of Hereford's commercial properties. One of my concerns is, if the council allow the change of use from commercial to residential to often, how long will it be before residents start to complain about the 'business's next door', being to noisy or about smells, lights, people, traffic etc... I think that this conversion in Eign Road looks terrible.
  13. Just goes to show how nuts some of these people really are..
  14. I am fully aware my friend.

  17. Nicked from someone else, but a point I have been making for a while. "Tax the rich more they don't pay enough!!" - says Deborah who doesn't work because she has 3 children and claims benefits A simple analogy to help those unsure of the way it works. Suppose that once a week, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to £100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this... The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay £1. The sixth would pay £3. The seventh would pay £7. The eighth would pay £12. The ninth would pay £18. And the tenth man (the richest) would pay £59. So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every week and seemed quite happy with the arrangement until, one day, the owner caused them a little problem. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your weekly beer by £20." Drinks for the ten men would now cost just £80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free but what about the other six men? The paying customers? How could they divide the £20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? They realized that £20 divided by six is £3.33 but if they subtracted that from everybody's share then not only would the first four men still be drinking for free but the fifth and sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fairer to reduce each man's bill by a higher percentage. They decided to follow the principle of the tax system they had been using and he proceeded to work out the amounts he suggested that each should now pay. And so, the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (a100% saving). The sixth man now paid £2 instead of £3 (a 33% saving). The seventh man now paid £5 instead of £7 (a 28% saving). The eighth man now paid £9 instead of £12 (a 25% saving). The ninth man now paid £14 instead of £18 (a 22% saving). And the tenth man now paid £49 instead of £59 (a 16% saving). Each of the last six was better off than before with the first four continuing to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got £1 out of the £20 saving," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, "but he got £10!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a £1 too. It's unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!" "That's true!" shouted the seventh man."Why should he get £10 back, when I only got £2? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison, "we didn't get anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next week the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important - they didn't have enough money between all of them to pay for even half of the bill! And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy and they just might not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier. For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
  18. Good! I should be able to buy a takeaway at anytime of the day or night, if some company is happy to provide.
  19. Points to note about the election. For those that are arguing over the result. The Conservatives won with an increased share of the vote. Labour lost with an increased share of the vote. The Lib Dems got a decreased share of the vote . . . . . . . .but more seats. UKIP are seatless and pointless. Theresa May beat a Labour Party! Remember that 792,248 more people voted Conservative than Labour. But The Labour party on the other hand, whose own MP's have voted to have Corbyn removed as leader in a massive vote of no confidence. Corbyn couldn't beat a Tory who ran the worst political campaign in living memory. The winner has been told to resign by the loser. The loser has been congratulated on great campaign, despite being a loser. An alcoholic racist who continually embarrassed herself and her party, with possibly the worst political interviews ever, gets an increased majority. The wicked witch of the north won in her area of concern, but is considered a loser. The Tories and Labour combined got less votes in Scotland than SNP and are happy with that. So to sum it all up. The winner actually lost out. The loser lost but wants to claim to be the winner. Personally, think everybody should thank goodness it's over and go and have a beer. Whilst we all have reasons for voting a particular way, let's remember we are all in this together and none of us are right or wrong, we just do what we believe is right
  20. Why should she resign? Just to be clear, Labour didn't win
  21. Unbelievable! No more freedom of speech Yesterday evening I had a knock on the door from the local police. Two young police officers asked me to confirm my name and asked if they could come in and have a word, I said of course, so I invited them in. They showed me a 'Tweet' that I had replied to in light of the recent London Bridge terrorists attacks and asked me if I had written it? I read it and confirmed that yes, I did indeed write those words, they then said it has been highlighted to them as the police monitor the internet and social media and although they are not investigating it, they had merely come up to give me some advice. I was in total and utter disbelief, I asked them if they were serious? to which they replied yes, they could not comment themselves but were instructed to pay me a visit. I asked them what advice would they like to offer me, they looked slightly puzzled, again, I said what advice are your offering me, the one girl said you just have to be careful what you write online because the police monitor the internet and social media. I asked them if I had broken the law? They said well, it’s a bit of a grey area and we have just come up to advise you. They never really advised me of anything, it was more of a tick box exercise and although these two girls were very professional and polite, I am in total shock and disbelief. I told them that a complaint was made some time ago about a car that had its windows smashed in and also that a prowler was seen climbing the hotel fence opposite and the police never responded, due to lack of resources however, I now find you two police offers in my house over what I wrote online! Now, find attached a screen shot of my actual Tweet, make up your own minds however, I will be making an official organisational complaint. I am not complaining at all, in any way, shape or form about the two police officers, it is more about West Mercia Police using public resources on this when in my opinion it should be utilised to the maximum in catching the remaining 23,000 other nutters waiting to murder some other innocent person.
  22. I don't read tabloids but this front page is superb
  23. Then I am afraid those should be sat behind a desk. Times have changed and we need to change, as a tax payer the police are there to serve and protect the public, they cannot do this with their hands tied behind their backs or simply with a truncheon. How can a young police officer faced with some nutter with a gun supposed to defend themselves and the public? Oh yeah, ask the terrorists to hang on for 15 mins while they wait for the armed unit to arrive.
  24. Spot on Bobby! Personally, I think we should bury the 3 terrorists shot dead with pigs! Smearing pigs blood all over them! That might make them think twice. There should also be a 'Shoot To Kill' policy.
  25. Try telling that to the copper's family who was murdered outside Parliament last month and to the copper that was attacked last night.
