They are having a laugh surely? I wonder if I can get away with paying my community charge to them? So they expect free electricy and gas central heating too?

Cabinet today, Thursday 20 October has approved the next key step in the delivery of the South Wye Transport Package which will see the construction of the Southern Link Road. This will deliver the first phase of the Hereford Bypass. Planning permission for the Southern Link Road was granted in June 2016 for the scheme and cabinet has today approved taking steps to acquire land for the road. The land required for the road is primarily agricultural land and the council seeks to purchase land by agreement. If the council is unable to purchase the land by agreement, it will consider seeking powers to compulsorily purchase the land in due course. The Southern Link Road will run from the A49 Ross Road/Rotherwas Access Road roundabout to the A465 and the B4349 Clehonger Road. The delivery of the road will be complemented by a package of active travel measures in the South Wye area, including proposed bus lanes, improved cycle ways and easier pedestrian access. The South Wye – Active Travel Consultation can be completed online at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/south-wye-transport-package

I tend to agree, we do have to have some modern buildings and I do not always buy into new builds have to blend in with the surrounding area there is nothing wrong with missing it up a little. I drive all over the UK with my job and a mixture of buildings can look really good.

No reason why they cannot install chargers in the main supermarket car park but it would be a waste of time having them in the garage as the trips to the garage are only for a few minutes in most cases.

Young Drivers & Litter - Spur Retail Park Hereford
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Bobblestock and Westfields
Well the retail park owners have now put up signs and the managers onsite are enforcing the gate closures every night. The problem has now moved to the retail park next door, hopefully these people will have the sense to realise by making a nuisance of themselves and leaving rubbish around they will get moved on. I will add that this is obviously not all of the car enthusiasts and as usual it is the minority that spoil it for the others. -
And yet another Syrian suicide attacker in Germany
Colin James replied to Paul Jones's topic in Open Forum
We have another today see this topic. German police are hunting for a suspected Syrian bomb plotter after raiding a building in the eastern city of Chemnitz. The suspect was identified as Jaber Albakr from Damascus and police urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. Police say two people have been arrested in the main station in Chemnitz and another arrested in Fritz Heckert area, but it is not clear how they are related to the inquiry. Tom Bernhardt, spokesman for the state criminal police, urged caution. A tweet from Saxony Police said: "The manhunt is under way looking for the suspect. Currently, we do not know where he is and what he's wearing. Be careful." An image released by police showed a dark-haired man wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He was said to have been wearing similar clothes when he was last seen. Police raided an apartment in the Fritz-Heckert-Gebiet neighbourhood after a tip-off from the domestic intelligence service. -
I will have a read through that later, thanks

Roger, I put my request in for Glastonbury Close last Winter, see the original topic here. Cllr Des Parish objected (this is because I requested it and she has taken something said about her precious Northolme Centre a few years ago on HV personally) so the decision was referred until last month, I was away on business so was unable to attend but she was of the view that Glastonbury Close is flat on not a on decline, having lived in the close for the longest period since the house were built back in 1989, I think qualifies me to know different. The amount of money that the BRPC are sitting on in their account is obscene! This money is for use around the parish, do not worry I have every intention of following this up and I will also lodge a central complaint if necessary because ti really is like an ice rink in our close when the temperatures drop to below freezing, for the last two years I have collected buckets of grit myself from the salt bin in Tesco and Haywood lane and scattered it down the hill, hence my request...

Young Drivers & Litter - Spur Retail Park Hereford
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Bobblestock and Westfields
They will be soon be moaning that they have nowhere to go when they start locking these gates permanently at night -
Young car drivers gather most nights on the Spur Retail Park Holmer Road Hereford. (Halfords | Dunelm | Hobbycraft | Maplin) most of the time they are sat in the car park in their cars. Gates were installed only a few months ago and it is down to the last manager to leave the park to lock the gates. This happened during the first few weeks only and now the gates never appear to be locked at night. These drivers sit there for hours and just throw all of their rubbish out onto the floor, this is disgusting! There are bins provided so there is really no excuse. It would be good to catch the culprits and have them prosecuted, I have already taken a few photographs and logged number plates.

I hate this! In this day and age there is really no need to hold a mobile phone especially in modern cars which usually all have Bluetooth. I passed a chap driving a Mercedes on the motorway the other day doing exactly the same thing, holding his phone, why?

Less disabled people in Spain compared to the UK?
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford City
There was only one disabled bay in this street, at the top where you can see the white arrow, again this bay was empty, funny that... -
We have recently returned from Calella, which is a very busy and popular town on the Costa Brava. While travelling around we could not help but notice that in most of the very busy streets particularly around the commercial centres that there were very few disabled parking bays (unlike the UK where there are far too many in my opinion) and where there were disabled bays they seemed to be always empty. It was the same in Barcelona. So am I to believe that there are less genuine disabled people in Spain or are there just more scammers here in the UK?

Maybe I was misinformed then but there has been a seat installed right next to these words since I took this photograph, which sort of suggests that it may not be a seat...
