Good point, it might be a lot easier if I select the main County Wards: Hereford County Wards Aylestone Hill Belmont Rural Bobblestock Central College Eign Hill Greyfriars Hinton and Hunderton Holmer Kingsacre Newton Farm Red Hill Saxon Gate Tupsley Whitecross Widemarsh Racecourse will fall under Bobblestock and Victoria Park will fall under Holmer.
-
Okay, I have added a few forums basically so that I was able to cover all the city wards. Have a look at all of the forums HERE. The Racecourse ward is ridiculous! Not even worth being in a category of it's own in my opinion as it only appears to cover The Starting Gate and a few streets surrounding but only as far as Ingram Avenue? What's that all about? Anyway, I created a forum simply called The Starting Gate, I can change that to something more appropriate at a later date but open to all suggestions.
-
Frank it is worse, Whittern Way and Seaton Avenue are no longer in Tupsley they fall under Aylestone Hill, not sure how to list the forums now as it is all over the place.
-
It is quite confusing when the City website is wrong, Aylestone Hill is not on there website yet it appears in their drop down box, think they need to sort out their website.
-
I did...hence my reply to Glenda
-
Hinton and Hunderton is the new ward yes? You have stated it is Hunderton and St Martins?
-
So do I sit in Belmont ward or Belmont Rural ward?
-
Well I thought that, it is called Belmont Rural yes? But then I had a look on the Hereford City website and now I am confused because it is not listed...
-
Belmont sits in 'Hinton and Hunderton' I trust this is all correct, I'm sure a member will correct me if I am wrong. Aylestone Hill Belmont Rural Bobblestock Central College Eign Hill Greyfriars Hinton and Hunderton Kings Acre Newton Farm Racecourse Redhill Saxon Gate Tupsley Victoria Park Whitecross Widemarsh I need to update the various forums into the new wards really, so will try and do that this week.

I use my car most days to take my mrs to work and back as there are no buses that offer the same route! I also then leave the city most days as I work on the road. The tram idea has been discussed on here for many years, you will find one of the tram topics here. My mrs would definitely use it daily as well as many of her colleagues. It would be mainly funded privately by sponsors etc as for buses what buses? My mrs works near Holmer and there is no direct bus from Belmont on any day, there is a bus that can take her to Tesco (town) then there are only 2, yes 2 buses per day that go to Holmer and one is in the morning and the other is around 4pm, no good when most staff work until 5-8pm. A tram however, could go all around the back of Holmer using the old infrastructure which goes right up to the top part of Wiggins and also into the train station in the city serving the whole of; Holmer|Whitecross|City|Moorfields|Hunderton|Newton Farm|Redhill, right now the old lines is just used for cyclists and pedestrians and that is mainly limited to daylight hours, but it could accommodate all.

Planning Committee Approves Southern Link Road
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Planning
Herefordshire Council Capital out turn report 2015-16 has been published for the Cabinet meeting next Thursday you can find it HERE. There seem to be similar accounting errors on the Southern Link Road, already flagged up on the City Link Road, and which may have contributed to the departure of Mr Robinson the chief finance officer... -
Yes offline for me also, seems to be a glitch somewhere

Taken from the HT: Photo from HT A RECYCLING service which provides low cost furniture for those on low incomes is closing. Full House Furniture Recycling Service in Holme Lacy Road, Hereford will close its doors for the last time on July 31. It was set up to provide, from donated goods, low-cost furniture and household items to disadvantaged families and individuals, those in poverty and housing need, those on low incomes or receiving state benefits. Chair of the board, Nancy Ellis, said it is with great sadness that the decision has been made. She said: "But while we are currently solvent, a number of significant factors have led us to the conclusion that our long-term financial prospects are poor. "In the last year of trading, we made a significant financial loss, despite every effort being made to manage costs tightly. "The recent introduction of the new National Living Wage has had a significant impact and forthcoming increases up to 2020 mean intensified cost pressures on us." Ms Ellis said auto-enrolment under the new pensions legislation will also potentially add to their core costs and they are worried about an increase in rent. She said a viable future strategy would also call for an investment in management staff. The charity also offers work to people who might be unable to find work elsewhere that is within their capabilities and provides a sheltered environment and work experience to individuals with special needs and/or disability, including those who are homeless. Ms Ellis said: "While we are extremely grateful for the support of a number of funders, such as the Eveson Trust and the EF Bulmer Foundation in the past, we do not believe it is right to seek charitable funding to subsidise day to day running costs, when other charities locally can offer a broadly similar service, albeit without providing employment opportunities for vulnerable people." She said they are discussing ways in which services and staff can be transferred with minimum disruption. Collections will continue to be made until June 30 and there will be a major closing down sale over the next few weeks.

Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Planning
I created this decision passed today as a separate post as it is really, new headline etc -
Herefordshire Councils planning committee has approved the Southern Link Road (SLR) planning application today, Monday 6 June 2016. The SLR marks the first phase of a bypass for the city and will assist in delivering new homes and jobs. The roads construction will also facilitate the implementation of active travel measures in South Wye. Plans include prohibition weight restriction on Belmont Road, shared use cycleways, new pedestrian crossings on Belmont Road and new speed restrictions in residential areas. Councillor Philip Price, cabinet member infrastructure said: The SLR is scheduled to be completed by summer 2019. The rest of the bypass will be completed when further funding can be secured from the Government. Subject to funding the bypass in its entirety will be constructed between 2022 and 2027. The council has secured £27m of Central Government funding for the SLR.

Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
I wasn't going to get into a debate about the toll prices however, I thought prices were slowly being reduced according to this article. -

Griffiths of Abergavenny is announced as the contractor for the City Link Road. The regeneration of Hereford City takes another step forward with the appointment of Alun Griffiths (Construction) for the construction of the City Link Road (CLR). Herefordshire Council and Balfour Beatty Living Places evaluated the tenders submitted through an open competitive tender process prior to the awarding of the contract to Alun Griffiths. Five tenders were received for the contract and Griffiths was the best overall bid. Councillor Philip Price, Cabinet Member Infrastructure: The City Link Road will transform Hereford’s city centre, creating the infrastructure to support 800 much needed new homes on the old Edgar Street grid site. Construction will begin in July 2016 and will take around 15 months to complete. The project will be officially presented at a community ‘drop in’ event which will be held at the Starlight Rooms, Hereford FC on Tuesday 14 June from midday until 8pm. This event is open to anyone who wants to know more about the project and meet the team.

Thank you

First of all it is not the police! Secondly, they have picked the ideal day to catch people out when the kids are off school and there is for once! A lot less traffic, motorists are the easy target yet again, so yes this was clearly pre-planned and in my opinion a money making scam! The driver then drove this van along the footpath path before joining the road further up, I am sure the police would have something to say if a another motorist had made the same maneover.
-
Out walking on this beautiful sunny morning and saw this eye sore! 2 mattresses just dumped on the footpath between Sydwall Road and Belmont Road, what is wrong with people? I noticed there is plastic on the one end perhaps they can grab a finger print and prosecute these vile people.

I spotted this speed camera scammer outside the Three Counties Hotel again this morning. Annoys me because there is no school so this is obviously pre-planned with less traffic about! I took a few photographs of the van which was clearly not appreciated because as soon as I did and stood in view of his money making lens it suddenly moved away.
