The council’s new approach to quality assurance for adult care and support services across the county has been launched. The new quality assurance framework will ensure that service providers offer appropriate high quality care and support services to meet the individual needs of the county’s adults. We continue to build positive relationships with service providers and residents to ensure this is achieved, as supportive partnership working will enable quality improvements to be delivered with better, innovative and cost-effective outcomes to promote the wellbeing of those who need our care and support. The key principles of the new quality assurance framework maintain an approach which is person-centred, intelligent, supportive and proportionate. This moves away from planned monitoring visits to informed monitoring activities undertaken in partnership with service providers, residents and their carers. As part of the framework, new quality standards will also be introduced in conjunction with Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). These will reflect what good practise looks like and all service providers and partner organisations will be required to work towards these standards to ensure high quality care and support is delivered. The Royal Mint produce the new pound coin, I am not sure I like the abbrievation of the Integrated Secure Identification Systems being used though. (isis) George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, revealed that HM Treasury believes there is a strong case for introducing a new £1 coin to help reduce counterfeiting and ensure the integrity of the United Kingdom’s currency. The Royal Mint has developed world-leading anti-counterfeiting technology which will enable Her Majesty’s Treasury to modernise the United Kingdom’s circulating currency with the production of a brand new £1 coin. The Royal Mint has produced a prototype for a replacement £1 coin which utilises multiple layers of cutting edge technology and would allow the United Kingdom to rapidly reduce the rate of counterfeit coins entering general circulation. The proposed £1 coin will be the most secure circulating coin in the world to date. A public consultation will be held over the summer focusing on how to manage any impacts before a final decision is made on the precise specification of the new coin, including the metal composition. The Royal Mint will work closely with key industry stakeholders to conduct a full consultation in order to understand the potential impact for industry. A public design competition will be held at a later date to choose the design for the reverse, or ‘tails’, of the coin which is expected to be introduced in 2017. The proposed £1 coin design is distinctly British, with a twelve-sided shape which evokes memories of the pre-decimalisation threepence piece. It will be constructed from two different coloured metals and contain an iSIS security feature - a revolutionary new high security coinage currency system developed by The Royal Mint. iSIS - Integrated Secure Identification Systems – enables not just coins, but the whole cash cycle to be more secure, protecting the public, vending machine operators, retailers, and the wider banking system.… Full story here

Temporary CCTV for Hereford Cemetery
Colin James replied to K.Butt's topic in Broomy Hill & Breinton
This is a positive move by the council. How distressing for those who have had their loved ones graves damaged and items stolen, some people are just vile. -
Okay guys this is becoming a little confusing as we are now way off the original topic. I am closing this topic as it has now been exhausted, however, please feel free to create new topics where appropriate.

Your welcome, I thought you may like this one. My cousin Gail used to run this little pub sometime ago but sadly passed away at a young age with cancer.

It will appeal to local Polish people and is already attracting a lot of positive comments especially on our Facebook page here. A Polish restaurant in Hereford is very welcome within the Polish community, lets hope the new business is a success.

Yes my gf of 10 years is Polish and she is delighted that a new Polish restaurant has opened. We visited today and we were so impressed by the food and service that I told the lady, I would write an article for her. The Polish Night next weekend is being hosted by our Cllr and member Jim Kenyon and as we will be attending, I thought I would give that a plug too.

There is a thriving Polish community now in Hereford, so it is good to see that a new Polish restaurant has opened. PRL Restaurant 48 St Owen Street Hereford HR1 2PU They offer only 3 or 4 dishes on the menu each day because everything is purchased on the day and cooked from fresh. I had the pleasure of trying the restaurant out today with my good lady and we had two really nice meals and it was very reasonably priced. Regardless of whether you are Polish or not give them a try, I am sure you will enjoy some good home cooked traditional Polish cuisine.

I agree Roger, footballer was treated differently because of his high profile, this all appears unfair and there is no consistency here in sentencing, this inconsistency by the courts needs a complete review and overall in my opinion.

Police Seize Cigarettes From 'Kurdish Owned' European Shop
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
I agree. The ONLY real Polish (owned) shop in Hereford as far as we are aware is Edysia right at the bottom of Eign Gate and the windows are not covered here as they have nothing to hide. -
First of all my lady is not Eastern European she is from Poland which is CENTRAL EUROPE now that I have got that across, Bobby you are correct my good lady is slim and eats like a horse but all the right food, no tv diners, usually good healthy food and dinners are always cooked and not packet. When it comes to fruit juices my good lady like myself only drink freshly squeezed juice and NEVER from concentrate.

To be fair they don't take crap from Brussels in my experience and neither should we. I think each country should do what is best for their country and citizens, I am sure many might disagree but that is my view. All these terrorists are having free movement and are clearly mixing in with migrants and refugees. Don't be surprised if Germany is targeted next...

I can't say I blame them and to be honest and at least there is a government out there somewhere that recognizes that it`s first duty is to it`s own citizens. Full Story
