I disagree, a friend of mine has just opened a new hair salon exactly there, she moved from the smaller shop in the same row to the new bigger shop. She has spent money and invested in her business and is very busy. The new salon looks beautiful, so a lot of these places just need money and someone with a vision. It is easy to walk away but I do think that the landlords could do a lot more. The footfall along this stretch of the road is more than you may think, this is the main walkway down to the subway into town and people walking from town to Sainsbury's and Whitecross

I took this photo of Whitecross Road at 1am simply to show where the light beam is cast, this is more evident during conditions of fog which we have now. I think the LED's are much better than the original yellow lights and there is clearly a lot less light pollution above, the beam is concentrated more on the path/road below as you can see from the photograph below.

Yes this has been on the cards for a long time. There was or is a problem with the canal that it runs over, there are also water/sewage issues with the new house on the former site of the Bridge Inn. Houses have been built but unable to connect to sewers as yet.

To be honest, I am just comparing with the same units as in previous years. Units 18 and 26 were definitely shops last time I looked. Dave Clements used to run his CB Radio shop from unit 26, and unit 18 used to be a butchers so unless these have been converted into a houses now? Units 2 and 3 are empty shops, okay unit 2 was previously the Kamal Indian but it is an empty shop as far as I am concerned, I think it has already been altered inside. Unit 39 in King St is a retail unit. I appreciate unit 50 has been let but I can only base my finding on how the shops/units were New Years Day and it was empty, hopefully next year it will not longer be on the list, I am sure Lauren will make a success of her new restaurant but it is still a fare way off being open right now.

So 50 so far will a few more to add which is more or less the same as the past few years. I was surprised because it feels like there are less empty shops right now but obviously that is not the case. I still need to add the empty shops in Maylord Orchards but not had time to go and check which ones are empty, will try later. There is little surprise to learn that apparently Hereford is the least attractive place in the country to start a business... According to this article in the HT

Another year has passed since I last did this exercise. I was out in the city on New Years Day, this is the first opportunity I have had to upload all of my findings. (January 2015)lets see what has changed in the past year and see what the differences are from the original topic in December 2013 and from January 2015. 1.

Welcome to all our members both new and existing.

They appear to be using a very basic system with no security.
-
He has requested that they change their name. Makes sense to me.
-
Yes I have also received an email and Denise is right it is their name not particularly what they are writing. The editor has advised them to change the name, which is really appreciated as it only leads to confusion (which was their obviously intent)

The idiot is back HERE, so just to remind everyone HV account is just HV, no letters or symbols before the words or after.

There is a lovely tribute to Brummie here

Going off topic here, this topic is not about ISIS, it is about West Mercia Police using drones. Please keep to the original topic in hand or feel free to create a new separate one.

I thought that the PM spoke very well and made Corbyn look rather more amateur than usual

Good to see the unit will not remain empty.
