I completely and utterly agree. Unfortunately they were all caught off guard with the image of the little boy on the beach (who's father should of been arrested in my view) but as usual too little too late.

I attended the BRPC Meeting last night at the Northolme Community Centre. During the public participation I asked if we could have at least 3 salt/grit bins for Glastonbury Close. One to be situated at the top of the close near Sydwall Road, another at the bottom of Glastonbury Close situated in the turning point on the final bend and the 3rd positioned near to the open space at the very end. Last Winter I drove to Tesco and collected grit on a few occasions and gritted the whole of the close from top to bottom as it is like an ice rink when the temperatures fall below zero. Over the years I have seen the bin lorry struggle and slide like you would not believe as well as vans and cars. I remember seeing some yellow bins some years back but they have since disappeared. I will also write to the clerk to request a few additional bins in and around Belmont too.

I mentioned these signs again at the BRPC meeting the evening with a view to getting them either updated and used or removed altogether but we are now 5 years on from when I first highlighted this and they are just rotting away which is no good to anyone.

The new skate park is being built by the same company who built the skate park in Holmer Road.

Yes I have seen this being operated quite often in and around the city centre in fairness. I do not believe 'we' have paid for this as this funded by Hereford BID.

I spoke with Peter earlier and he explained that they did not need to go to planning provided they only use the same foot print as the previous skate park, hence why no additions or lighting at this stage, however, he is keen to set up a local group and will also assist with trying to source additional funding from any schemes/grants that are available, which is really good to hear.

The work on the new skate park in the fields at the top of Newton Farm has begun. Contractors had already fenced off the old park and have starting dismantling it today. This skate park was built in the 90's and is well used and in much need of replacing. The project is being funded by Hereford Housing as it is their land.

This was approved at the beginning of the year, so I am not sure what has happened since because no building work has begun but Glenda have a look at the planning link, it clearly says 'Sheltered Accommodation'
