So has Daniel Price sold up then?

Its a busy hair salon generally so when the kids are off its extremely busy but still the best in my opinion. A lot of the time its about timing, you can drive past look through the window and see just a couple of people, park the car come back 10 mins later and its packed, which is frustrating especially if you only have a 30 minute parking window.

I didn't realise you were there, I wish you had of come over and introduced yourself.

To be fair to Superintendent Thomas, she did her utmost to explain in great detail the lack of resources she has to work with but went on to try and reassure local people that she has been given some extra funds which she will be using towards additional CCTV and other plans from my understanding.
-
To be fair there was a good turnout. Lots of local councillors and even the CSO's which was good to see.

Personally, I thought it was a good meeting and was certainly needed. It was informative and I think a lot of people learned a lot this evening. The police brought us up to speed with the murder enquiry of Christian Bagley. It is welcoming news that the first CCTV camera is currently being installed on the GWW and will be operational in September with additional mobile CCTC camera's in other key locations along the GWW, so the campaigning paid off, unfortunately though, I believe Christian's murder has contributed significantly in speeding up that process. I thought that the police were candid in explaining the constraints and lack of resources and funds that they have to work with, which not everybody fully grasped and as a result a few people walked out but probably through frustration more than anything. I was the first up with my questions and concerns as blogged by Jess Phillips from the HT 7:40pm Colin James, from the Hereford Voice website, says a friend of his was murdered on the lines in 1991. "Why has it taken two murders to discuss CCTV? We've been asking for CCTV, a clearance on the lines and additional lighting for some time." I also managed to take a photograph of the panel.

The LED lights are more cost effective and give off less light pollution, they are not less bright but there is no pollution being wasted from above, the solution to this problem is to install more! Another idea would be to cut back more of these tress and overgrown buses as this is where potential crimes could hide.

Yes, unfortunately, the xmas stock will soon be arriving and then Boxing day out come the Easter Eggs! However, I see no real reason that the old fashion out dated Sunday laws cannot be changed. Quite often I will forget something on a Sunday only to rush to Asda as they are the latest supermarket open on a Sunday closing at 5pm and guess what, its always full!! If this is turn creates possibly more jobs then that could be good too, especially for students like my Son who is always looking for more hours. Im sure some will not agree but I think times have changed and we need to get into the 21st Century now. I was in Lisbon last year and the Vasco Da Gama shopping centre is open 7 days a week until midnight.
-
Personally, I think if shops want to remain open on Sundays then they should be able to stay open.

Chris I have been campaigning on here for additional lighting and CCTV since 2010 see this topic. Glenda Powell also managed to get tree's and bushes cleared and also requested CCTV. I thought she had secured at least one CCTV camera which is to be installed in September? It would be nice to have more than just one camera.

I have added this to the community calendar.

Councillor Chris Chappell has arranged a public meeting, mainly for the residents of Hunderton but for anyone who is worried about using the Great Western Way at the moment, with the police, at the Kindle Centre on Thursday at 7pm. Officers investigating the recent murder, and related matters will be attending, along with the local police commander, Supt Sue Thomas and the local south wye police team. The police will give as much information as they can about this investigation, and will answer questions from the public. This is another opportunity for anyone who thinks they may have any information, however slight,to give to the police and also an opportunity to discuss latest plans for CCTV on the Great Western Way. Any questions for Chris beforehand, please log into our forums where the discussion is taking place right now.
-
Well done Chris, I am in Leeds that day but will do my very best to get back in order that I can attend. I added GWW to your title of this topic so that it stands out, hope you don't mind. I have also added this to our FaceBook Page too Chris.

Completed online there are savings to be made but maybe they should of spent less in Plough Lane! I agree with the majority of what you have written dippy, no problems paying an additional 5% as long as services to Blackmarston School and Ledbury Rd are protected, however, I do not agree with higher parking charges/meters, we need to attract people to our city but as it has already been pointed out the local car park in plough lane is cheap, funny that. :Cha ching: :Cha ching: :Cha ching:

A single CCTV camera could act as a deterrent and would also show local activity,it would also need to be HD quality however, more lighting!! and additional police patrols is essential, that said, going back to my tram idea, this could also help illeviating some crime with lots more people and activity, especially if it was 24 hour at the weekends.

I was going to try one of their burgers yesterday until I saw that they were £7 each

Great Western Way - Do You Feel Safe Along Here?
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
Did this work ever get done? Any tree's bushes cut back? Was extra lighting ever installed? I don't think it was and this was orginally being discussed over 5 years ago now! How many more assaults or murders have to happen before anything is done?- 19 replies
