Roger, your missing the point, of course they are lazy people around and that will always be the case. The point here is, if someone is prepared to pay for a service, in this case, a taxi, the distance of the trip required is irrelevant. There are many people waiting for hackney carriage licenses and in my opinion the driver should be given one warning and if this behaviour continues then licenses should be revoked. Rebecca is correct with her comment 'its a lottery' sometimes there will be a queue of people waiting for a taxi, some will want to go a mile or less others will want to go further. A driver can not pick and choose the better fares, what next?

Traffic The Reason For The Traffic Jam Today
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum

This is the reason it took an hour and 5 minutes to drive from Belmont to Holmer this morning. Another nightmare morning on the A465 Belmont Road. Apparently a trailer carrying sheep overturned. You see, one problem and the traffic extends out past the Clehonger turning on the A465 coming into Hereford and out as far as the bottom of the Callow on the A49 Ross Road. Still, we have a relief road coming soon eh... More river crossings please!!

Use Trams On Great Western Way
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Good thought but going into town would have to be a separate project to this one. This idea stems from being able to possibly use/accommodate the old railways lines (GWW) initially, if we can get this project live then we can look at all the other alternatives but right now, I think we need to keep this one line as our goal, thus keeping it as simple as possible otherwise it will all become too complicated and people will loose interest.- 246 replies

Well, I have not told any lies as far as I am aware, I know that Mr Edwards regularly reads the topics and post here on HV, so maybe he would like to defend himself if I am wrong... -

Use Trams On Great Western Way

I drive across the country in my capacity as National Manager and I totally agree with your comments greenknght above. I would much prefer to drive across Haywood Lane, then to Ross-On-Wye and along the M50 anyway rather than the nightmare of driving on the A roads. Okay folks can we get back to the topic of Trams as we are going off topic now. I can create a separate topic for the other traffic discussions if required. Anyone else hear the Free Radio interview this morning?- 246 replies
