  1. A good point Councillor but again, I think that would be for a separate topic, this topic is about rubbish and fly tipping.
  2. A 3 storey sheltered housing project in Belmont Avenue Hereford has been approved. The new homes are to be built in the little car park with garages near to the footpath into Asda. I assume the footpath will remain? West Mercia Housing Group applied to build a three-storey building with 10 one-bed flats, and three off road car parking spaces. Full planning details here
  3. This is a separate topic Denise but for the record a lot of the land at Rotherwas is obviously privately owned, so I guess any new owners can build what they like providing they pass the planning stage.
  4. Due to the fact that when this topic became archived (until I corrected the admin parameters) we have unfortunately lost the beginning of this topic and a few others within the database and I cannot find a way of retrieving them. I would suggest starting a new topic in which case I will lock this one (preventing any further replies) or if you prefer I can remove a few posts from this one a re-title it with an image, if that is the case please suggest a suitable title and I will make the amendments.
  5. You need to have a look at the photographs posted my friend. The clothes shop opposite Bodycare is already closed. When you say the suit shop is closing, are you referring to Moss?
  6. The Booth Hall closed its doors last Sunday.
  7. I have added a few more empty shops bringing the total to 54 (with the exception of Watercress Harrys). I have not included any pubs, clubs or any empty units on retail parks. Based on these figures there are 13 more empty shops compared to the same time last year when I did this exercise, so shops are closing in Hereford at a rate of one per month which is unbelievable!
  8. 51. 52. 53. 54. 55. I am sure there are still more to add on. So some unites are still empty but there are more empty units than there were a year ago and I was pretty bleak numbers back then.
  9. Another very depressing gallery 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
  10. Well we are just over a year on from the last time I did this exercise in this topic (December 2013), so lets see what has changed and see what the differences are... 1.
  11. Yes growing up in Redhill we would often start our pub crawl from here. We often played darts here too and also at the Gamecock good times indeed. Shame the pub has come to this but in fairness, I do not think that the brewery have been forth coming with any money to upgrade etc for Tina or for the previous landlord Carl.
  12. Herefordshire Council have received a planning application to turn the Broadleys Pub into a Co-Operative store according to Tina Carey (Landlady) I think we have enough supermarkets, I would rather see this turned into a Toby Carvery rather than another shop personally. This is the message that Tina Carey put out on Facebook Last night.
  13. Or an extension to the tiny hospital, we don't have enough beds as it is.
  14. So you have to pay an addtional 30p in order to pay for your parking? Do I understand this correctly? But you do receive free texts NOT! (You have paid 30 p for the privilege) From my understanding the previous service which was provided by PayByPhone was subscription free, so I am confused as to why Herefordshire Council have opted for this more expensive company? I see Oxfordshire Council have done the same see this article In London the Council have opted for the reverse, The London borough of Southwark have changed from RingGo to PayByPhone, see this article So what's the difference between these two company's other than one being free?
  15. I was in Worthing the other night and there they have a standard £3 set charge for short trips. Alternatively, if you are in Commercial Road and want a cab to say Saxty's jump in the Taxi and say something like Tesco's Belmont please and as soon as you are on the ring road, say oh sorry can you just drop me at Saxty's by which time the driver has committed themselves, sneaky I know but play them at their own game.
  16. My Nephew Jason was the manager at Sticky Carpets for years, some great memories were had there.
  17. Depends if you want a dance I guess but it's like this throughout most of Europe. Most clubs do not get busy until about 1am. I have just come back from Poland and they had a good mix of pubs and clubs and the law in Poland states that while you have customers drinking you cannot close some many are open all night.
  18. I have to continue to repeat myself, It's about choice! I appreciate exactly what you guys are saying but this never used to be a problem years ago, there was always people about and you could always grab a curry after 2am. All I am saying is allow the restaurant/take-away owners to decide if it's viable to stay open but give them that choice to make in the first place. I do agree with Rebecca that these silly decisions to prevent licences being issued after 1.30am for hot food must of had an impact of trade and the slow demise of the city as Rebecca said.
