  1. until
Hereford May Fair from 6th-8th May 2014
  2. I am with you on this Steve. We visited Saturday at just after 5.30pm, (thinking it was open until 8pm, I must of been half asleep thinking shops would be open later at the weekend...) we went into Next and within 10mins or so an announcement , shop will be closing shortly anyway, had a very quick look around, Debenhams had the sense to stay open until 7pm because it was still busy, but other than a few shops most are still empty, so how the hell can they justify still charging full price to park a car?? We were parked for an 1 hour and 6 mins and it cost me £2.40!! (See ticket below) The parking machine does not take card payments either and there was not a cash point anywhere to be seen, what's that all about?
  3. Yes your somewhere new the truth, the adjoining property is owned by Alan Williams and this building work also blocks any future access to the second property but planning was granted, once the builder went too far over (so to speak) Mr Williams exercised his right to sue, hence the delay.
  4. They halted the work because of a legal battle ragwert, trust me, I know.
  5. I will speak with John Harrington later and see what he intends to do because he sent the original letter out but yes a reminder may be required or maybe another brief letter explaining that all of the Councillors replies are being published, that may force a response or not as the case maybe. The Lord Mayor, Cllr Phil Edwards also asked if a letter of support from the Mayors office would help,(at the meeting) we all agreed that it would, so I wrote to him last week for this letter and I have had a disappointing reply so far but I have written back, so I will publish those replies once I have his full correspondence.
  6. Good luck with your new book, lets hope some local bookshops see this topic! Kind gesture to donate your free versions (if you receive them) to the local library service.
  7. Yes dispute was between Alan Williams (former Mayor) as I understand he owns the property next to the Palace and when they started building they disturbed his boundary, not 100% sure of the details in full.
  8. I see that work has restarted on the former Palace Chinese restaurant in Hereford. There was a dispute which had halted the building work but I noticed yesterday that work had begun again.
  9. I think your title mislead me, Lights Out A Success? considering we have our 'Lights Out' campaign. I think I would prefer to edit it to Power Out if you have no objections?
  10. No mention of the alternative 'eastern' route I notice...
  11. Michael Owen has just tweeted his congratulations to Hereford United for staying up, nice touch.
  12. Anyone else confirm this? If so, his is great news
  13. Well with these prices they have just killed it in my opinion! Most decent shopping centres have FREE parking, no attraction here at all! Not even the first 2 hours are FREE... So they want us to pay to park our vehicles in order to visit their stores and spend our money, yeah right
  14. They need to get in the real World
  15. I am not surprised to be honest, they were outside my mums for a couple of minutes in total.
  16. Well done to them!! I have looked at some of the street signs locally myself and they are faded and not looking their best, I have also looked at the Algae on some of the road signs, I cleaned a few along Haywood Lane last year on the sharp bend where there have been a few serious accidents because drivers could not see them.
  17. They ere crap! Shame I know, but that's how it is...
  18. Ooo that's good I wonder if any of the others take-aways are open later this weekend? Anyone know?
  19. My prediction Tamworth win, lets see...
  20. Thank you. Yes the have some brilliant systems in place in the USA and throughout Europe it just seems to be the UK that need to play catch up and stop treating us like we are kids.
  21. This is a very good question, to be honest although this is labelled as a service yard I just automatically assumed that any traffic would enter and exit from Blackfriars Street side, it never once occurred to me that they may enter and exit via Edgar St, surely this is just while the building work is continuing?
  22. I have now implemented phase II of our traffic lights campaign and that is in the form of a petition from the very start! [Please note that this is totally separate to our lights out campaign. This petition deals only with the traffic lights at night] We would like both the Highways Agency and Herefordshire Council to allow the traffic lights at the junctions where the A465 meets the A49 (Asda roundabout/junction) and where the A49 meets the A438 Newmarket St (Old Market roundabout/junction) to become part-time signals during non peak times from 7pm-7am with exception to the pedestrian crossings which would still be in operation for the safety of pedestrians. All of these traffic lights are relatively pointless during off peak times and often motorists become frustrated and impatient while being forced to sit at red lights, this can often be at 2am when there are clearly no other vehicles in sight! By signing our petition you are in strong favour of these signals being changed to PART-TIME status from 7pm-7am Please read the petition and you can offer your support by simply signing it. #trafficlightshfd Part-Time Traffic Lights Petition Here
