  1. Jamal's in Bridge Street Hereford make a superb kebab
  2. Voting is limited to allow 10 x positive votes and ONLY 3 negative votes in any 24 hour period here. Below is a image of what I can do within the admin section. I can also turn on a feature that allows members to view who voted and how they voted but I think turning that on may cause more hassle that it's worth, that said, as the Administrator I can view who voted. Finally, unlike what I am reading about the HT you can't fiddle the voting on here.
  3. Hi Pete and welcome to HV. You have my sympathy with the useless broadband speeds that your guys are suffering with, I had this in Belmont for many years, lets hope that they can pull something out of the bag for you sooner rather than later.
  4. Welcome to HV Paul. I am looking forward to meeting up with you in the near future to discuss the whole T4C concept. Good to see you joining in the debates. Welcome!
  5. Hi Beth and thank you for your comments, your frustrations are echoed by many other people in Hereford. I will be writing again to the HT and the council to see what can be done to get this reversed. Watch this space!
  6. Graham Powell ‏@cabbagegrower 2h Commercial and contract roll out means nearly 40,000 premises in Herefordshire have access to great Broadband - need to reach remote corners
  7. I came past earlier this afternoon at 3.40pm and there were the usual 4 druggies who are always very loud, there were also 2 other sruffy looking guy's drinking cans of cider, ALL WERE ENGLISH.
  8. Paul has added a link on his website here
  9. Bill I had the exact same thoughts so I have split now these comments away from ragwert's original Scoot topic and created this individual topic as this was unfair to ragwert and we had taken over his discussion.
  10. Unfortunately, you will get this I guess from certain members which is quite sad really, ultimately I can turn this feature off or just allow the LIKE feature but I am not sure that will then give a true reflection as I have previously said. I can also hide from view the totals from members profiles
  11. Pauline, I have obviously missed something here, can you show me where you have been named or in which post because that is unacceptable.
  12. Well currently you have a reputation of +130 bobby47 which is classed as Superb. Pauline to be fair, you only joined a few weeks ago and this is your one and only post thus far, you have received a positive vote too because you have 1 reputation point, so I am a little confused as to why this feature is bothering you if I am honest? You are a valued member here and you have the same options as every other member. The reputation feature has several benefits to me as the admin because I can set parameters. The reputation system lets users rate other users based on their actions and posts. All ratings are tallied to give every user a total reputation, which can be displayed in their profiles. A user receives or loses points when other users vote up or down the content they have submitted to our community. Forum posts, gallery images, blog posts, etc will all have +/- buttons our your members can use to vote on the associated content. The forum includes filters to view or hide posts based on the number of points that post has received. So I can choose to hide all posts that fall below -25, or any other value that I set. This system works much like the ignore user feature, the post will be hidden with an option to view it anyway. It is also possible to set an upper threshold that will highlight posts that have more than X amount of points. The system has several configuration options as well. I can choose to allow members to only give positive votes, or only negative votes, or both positive and negative votes (which is how it is currently set). I can choose at what level content becomes 'highlighted', and can exclude specific groups from the reputation system, choose if the reputation is displayed on profiles. I can also limit the number of positive and negative votes that a user group is allowed to give in a 24 hour period. Personally, I believe it gives a true reflection of how others honestly feel about your content and I rarely edit topics and posts unless I really need too. Original topic here I could just turn this feature completely off or just allow a like button where members who have liked a post are listed but I am not sure that this will give a totally true reflection, allowing people to vote anonymously takes that barrier away.
  13. I see the HT have picked up on this a week or so later with THIS ARTICLE. Don't be surprised if pets at home leave Hereford within 2 years...
  14. HV has teamed up with Paul Daykin from T4C, I have offered to help and support his projects where possible. Paul is keen to meet up and discuss how we could possibly work on some joint ventures particularly south of the river in Hereford to add to the existing Hereford projects that are already completed or ongoing. Please check out the excellent T4C Website for all the details of this and other projects.
  15. I have teamed up with Paul Daykin from T4C and exchanged mutual links and offered any support the HV can offer, you will see their link (logo) on the right hand side of our main page. A very worthy cause.
  16. Taken from the Hereford Housing Website:
  17. Personally I don't think having an unmanned garage at Asda will make any difference, but I was surprised to read that they will get 35 flats on this site, I can only assume it will be 2-4 storey's in height...
  18. Here are a few other impressions
  19. This is how they will look when completed
  20. Herefordshire Housing looking to purchase The Ship Inn, Hereford. The Ship Inn has been closed for a number of years and has suffered from vandalism. They are looking to create around 35 new 1 & 2 bedroom apartments.
  21. From this article in this weeks HT APRIL 17 is D-Day for the much anticipated Old Market in Hereford, with eight companies circling the date in their diaries for their big openings. Along with Waitrose, Debenhams, TK Maxx, Next, L’Occitane, Fatface, Clarks and Costa are all on track to open their doors on that Thursday. Stanhope’s Gary Bourne said: “We’re excited to confirm the first stores will open their doors on April 17. “More shops and restaurants – along with the new six-screen Odeon cinema – ¬ will open in the weeks thereafter.” With fitting times varying from unit to unit, the development will operate a graduated opening, with H&M currently the final store set to open in Autumn. Mr Bourne added: “We are pleased to report that Old Market is now over 90 percent prelet or under offer. "And we look forward to announcing the next tranche of exciting retailers before the scheme opens in April.”
  22. Home Bargains has opened, there are some real bargains on branded products to be had but there is also some tat in there too, but certainly worth a visit. I purchased a few items, in particular a small bottle of Diet Pepsi for 29p!
  23. The body of a man has been found in the park beside Castle Pool pond, Hereford, this morning. Police have sealed off the area with a crime scene team at work on Cantilupe Street. The death is currently being investigated as "unexplained". A passer-by found the body just before 7am this morning. From HT The Gardens, off Cantilupe Street next to the Castle Pool duck pond, were sealed off this morning while a crime scene team searched for clues. As yet, police have not formally identified the deceased - a middle-aged man - or confirmed a cause of death. Work is underway on tracing the movements of individuals matching the description of the deceased through the city yesterday. A post mortem is planned for either tomorrow or Monday.
  24. Well done Chris and a very worthy cause too, I echo what bobby47 has said and if you need to use HV as a vehicle please feel.
