Well you must of been typing the same time as me Biomech lol They have already opened but what I was surprised to see is that they have opened a pet section (Pet Hut) right next door to 'pets at home' and I am wondering why the landlords of the Brook Retail Park have allowed this and not protected their current tenants, if I were 'pets at home' I would not be very happy to be honest, I know competition is healthy but this is a bit much don't you think? I took this photo over the weekend.

I took some photographs of the floods while I was out and about today, here are a few from the Bishops Meadows

Hmm, I was out walking along the riverside today and noticed barbed wire all the way along the side fencing of a public footpath, so how come they can get away with it here then?

Storm damaged brought these fences down at the back of the Three Counties Hotel last night, notice the fence missing further along too. I contacted the hotel at 7am this morning to notify them and also to draw their attention to the barbed wire and heavy piece of wood dangling which is swinging around dangerously in the wind, it is now 11am and nobody has even looked at it yet.

I notice that work has started on the demolition of the flats in Beattie Avenue and St Francis Saviour Church. I also notice that the demolition contractors are DES who are based in Henley in Arden Warwickshire, was there not a suitable local Hereford company able to carry out these works?

Further to our emails Gareth, Welcome to HV. I like this idea and if I can help in anyway please just ask, I have lived in Belmont for over 23 years now but I am a Herefordian and I was brought up in Stanberrow Road, Redhill, just along the road from Chris Adcocks so not far from you! There are plenty of good members on here that I am sure will offer to help where they can.

I am never entitled to any benefit, EVER, even when I was a single parent, apparently it has something to do with the fact that I work and earn too much money? If I had loads of kids or was overweight, disabled, on drugs or an alcoholic or had been on the dole for over 10 years or looking after someone with any of the above I may have qualified

Crime Police Hunt For Man After Cash Stolen In Hereford
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
Strangely enough I had similar thoughts... -
Okay folks please calm it down as it's getting a little personal now which is totally unnecessary. We clearly do not all share the same views and our opinions will differ, but we should equally respect each others whether we agree or not. Personally, I think the council have a duty to keep the city clean and I must admit the doorway at the Chadds old shop and the passageway alongside McDonalds is pretty bad. Maybe one of our Councillors can point us in the right direction on whom we should report this too?

Crime Police Hunt For Man After Cash Stolen In Hereford
Colin James posted a topic in Police & Crime
Police at Hereford investigating a robbery of cash from a woman on Wednesday 15 January have issued an image of a man they want to talk to. The woman was robbed in an alleyway by the Wye Inn pub in Holme Lacey Road. Hereford at approximately 12.45pm. A man approached the 20 year old woman and asked for a cigarette. As the victim got a cigarette for him he grabbed a freezer bag from her pocket which contained cash. When the woman tried to grab the cash back the man struck her. He then ran off along the footpath into FC Morgan Close. The man police want to talk to in connection with the robbery is described as a white man, aged between 40 and 45 with a dark moustache. Detective Sergeant Tim Powell of Hereford CID said. “Fortunately this woman had no serious injuries. We need to trace this man as soon as possible. There are a number of industrial units on the nearby retail park and this man could have come from there. If you have any information on the identity of this man or if you think you saw him please contact officers at Hereford by dialling 101. All calls will be treated in confidenceâ€. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can also ring independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Full Details Here -
Excellent! The more publicity you can get the better, well done.
