Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I was notified this morning that Hereford Time have featured this story on their website which is good and will help highlight this silly curfew imposed by Herefordshire Council.- 291 replies

What twats! I have no words other than to echo what you have said, I mean what idiot came up with that suggestion? I want to meet that person, I really do. I think while they are at it they should make Cargill pay a fee for providing the chicken that some young person has thrown up and Coca Cola for providing the fizzy drink that caused it, total idiots.- 291 replies

Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Sorry but this is hardly a reason to force hot food establishments to close at 1.30am! What's the difference between having security in a club or on the door of a take away? But it's okay to go to the Lunchbox though in Commercial Road at 2am because they serve rolls and sandwiches!! Or to the garage for a Ginsters pasty, hence why people go to other cities and another reason why Hereford is suffering! I have worked on the doors in Commercial Road for over 15 years and I have seen it all, yes maybe when all the clubs used to close at the same time 1am more people would gather but since licensing laws were relaxed several years back this is no longer the case!- 291 replies

I have added another 2 empty shops in Widemarsh Street we are now up to 39 and I have not been everywhere yet... Still, it was not that much different around 30 years ago... Photo courtesy of Old Hereford Pics

Yep, I will add the rest tomorrow if I get time because there are the ones in Maylord Orchards. I have already numbered the empty stores if you have a look but I do like the way you have calculated each street Martin, gives a better idea.

Hmmm, I know Denny very well, great guy, he was at my wedding 23 years ago so we go back a long way but not sure it is considered a shop though, that is/was a restaurant and would possibly come under another topic at some point.

It's easier than you think, have a go, you have 30 mins to edit anything that does not look correct. There is another tutorial HERE
-
No problem, it is very easy to do, just type your sentence then highlight you word or words then while it is highlighted click on the link and either copy and paste of enter the web address then click post!

Like I said I am sure some upgrade had been done to these flats over the past few years and yes it could be the new windows but why? Surely this has bee non the agenda for sometime now?

I see that they have repaired the road just past St Nicholas church on Victoria St but I did notice a huge pothole along the slip road leading towards B & Q and I mean huge! The Greyfriars Bridge has also got potholes on the footpath. The whole bridge is due to be re-painted and railings repaired but this is not planned until at least the 2018/19. The health and Safety brigade also want to close in the railings to stop motorists looking through as they drive across, we will have to put up a fight if that happens.

Old Market Hereford
Colin James replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
Amanda please note I said as it stands.. I am totally behind shared space, no lights and a wonderful integration where everything and everybody is equal, the road does not belong to anyone! The only reason I suggested a tunnel/bridge is no matter how good shared space is, when it rains or snows and is freezing cold you still get soaked and shiver, I have been involved in design and everything from manufacturing to supplying carpets, curtains and soft furnishings to ceramic/porcelain wall and floor tiles and as I said it was suggested merely as an optional extra but as a designer it's also about appeal and standing in the cold vile weather right now does not sound attractive to me but my shopping experience in Bristol yesterday was superb and did not get wet at all. At the end of the day it is probably too late anyway and this will never be implemented, however, I do believe that this was an opportunity to link high town with the new ESG missed. Onward and forward with our light out and shared space campaign.- 185 replies

No lights and shared space is the aim as far as I am concerned, I merely suggested a bridge as an optional extra, I know not all agree but I travel the country with my work and have done for many years, so I know first hand that it works, but the lights out shared space has to be the priority. I agree with Amanda about subways far less appealing for me and usually a very hostile environment. I have campaigned for over 4 years to get the traffic lights turned off or at the very least a trial period with them out and that has always been my goal.- 185 replies
