Well I hope that the Lib Dems,s enjoyed their short time in government. They have paid a heavy price and perhaps so have we. It might appear that we have safe government but the restraints are off now, the Scots are strong as nationalism builds and I fear for the vulnerable, the NHS and our own security. Batten down.. things are going to get a little rough.

Anyway if I had known that the hearing wasn't so good these days I wouldn't have insisted that the nag took here shoes when we bounded up your drive..All the best.

Sorry Ubique..could not resist!

Can I help with this ..I think the third paper is for those within the city council where there are also elections which don't apply outside that boundary.

Well whoever gets in they better get organized and quickly because there are some big issues queuing up for their kind attention and this is going to be a big one! I went to the public event at the Three Counties Hotel and there was no support for it whatsoever. Let's see how the cards fall tonight and then we get busy.

My dear chap "ruck" ...You should be setting an example to the young uns and what about the newbies they are going to think this is an extremist site! I felt quite bad some months back when me and the old nag were creeping up your driveway in the early hours harvesting the contents of your black bins whilst dropping off old battle parts but now I realise that it could have got nasty..totally unprepared whereas Missy and I always get tooled up trotting past the Commercial wearing more armour than a WW1 Dreadnought. Missy is always concerned about her rear and she should be because I've seen what the Kings thugs can do charging out the window whilst brandishing solid oak legs stolen from Hereford Station in the days before plastic!

Well I know locally it might be a forgone conclusion however Roger I'm keen to see the spread of the votes. I think there will be another election within the year and in the meantime a big shout for electoral reform..proportional representation and all that. Just asking the question this week in different counties there is a hushed vote for UKIP so let's see what happens!

Well I'm in agreement with Dippy for me I would like to see the IOC and Independents sitting together so I hope you guys can get along. Good Luck one and all.

I saw this picture courtesy of WMAS on the Hereford Times website announcing another road traffic incident. I'm pleased that the young driver wasn't to badly injured however what caught my eye was the shocking near invisible solid white lines. These are applied for good reason so the very fact that they are almost missing confirms to me how bad are county roads have become. I remember just over a year ago driving into Ashperton from Trumpet I noticed just by the school that the solid white lines had been refreshed however they painted through a pothole in the middle of the road.Things are going to get worse.

I love that sketch but not because I'm sexist but because I have a cracking sense of humour! You should use this saying which I think came from one of the Marx brothers( I would like to say sisters but that would be a lie)...It went something like this.. "Those are my principles and if you don't like them, well,I have others" -

I only hope Amanda that this does not keep you up at nights because it's becoming a rant. Personally I'm just trying to remember the single biggest industry currently driving the recovery in the West Midlands and as much I love to eat local crisps and drink Herefordshire cider it isn't them! -
Here you go..a great little place that will remain open until 7pm most days extending to midnight at least on Fridays and Saturdays complete with alcohol license. Tried it,liked it, see what you think!

Agreed Cambo and I for one would be the very first to lose the car keys because I'm sick of it but it pays my salary and sorts out the mortgage on a small bungalow on the south east side of town. -
Still only been there once.

That's a bit harsh Bobby..now if you had said Katie Hopkins I'd agree. -

Well then you've just blown your own argument out of the window because like me you've clearly found it necessary to use the car whether you like it or not(and clearly you don't)! I'm a horse and cart man absolutely love 'em but it's just not practical. I,'ll be honest with you Amanda I believe we will get a ring road in the end or at least two bridges east and west and politics will have a big hand. In the west the dualling of the A465 is coming our way and the Welsh Government needs better road links into South Wales from the North and the Midlands and Hereford sits right bang in the way. Yes someone will have to cough for sorting out the road/rail and river point at the lights near the border however once sorted its a straight line all the way to the Marches and Hereford city centre. No northern bound lorry driver in his right mind is going to use the road into Abergavenny and then have to drive south again and trundle through Monmouth,M50 and then head up the congestion racked M5.There will be a deal (one government to another but it will be sanctioned). We might get revenue from a congestion charge but it will happen there needs to be more jobs for the valleys and for that industry needs to return and industry needs working national infrastructure. The eastern route will also happen and to be honest the longer it takes for the process to start the worse the traffic will become until eventually when the big plans go in few will object because they will just want solutions not arguement they will be tired of it all. -
A free drink now available at the Costa on the old market site.

In a previous post I questioned when this Highways Agency data was acquired because I can't see the relevance if acquired during a recession. As you don't seem to drive Amanda I can't see how you can understand the frustrations people have with the roads in this County. More traffic will come that's for sure whether we have a bypass or not however I know it will be worse without some form of alternative route around the city and that's before new house builds. If we had a bypass we could make it a toll road, income generator. Yes the M6 Toll does not have the traffic it could absorb but only because the owners got greedy and whacked the prices up. You will forgive me but you can't compare Herefordshire with the over populated counties of the South East. To the west we have empty space and you can't really claim that South Shropshire is stuffed full of houses or businesses. Traffic is coming and preparation is the key. -
Not been into old town Costa yet Roger and have not set up at OLM yet hopefully today. If there are no takers then Jo Public can use.

Slightly off topic but I followed yesterday a short wheelbase land rover defender with a young calf in the back who could not decide whether to stand up or sit down after all the driver was at times according to my speedo travelling around 50mph. Now some might think that's ok and others might comment that these young ones don't mind but this was on the Hereford to Bromyard road!

Very interesting letter in Hereford Times this week about Mordiford village suffering because of traffic trying to avoid the city centre..schools,children,safety that sort of thing! I'm pretty sure that similar letters will come from Burley Gate,Bodenham and Sutton St Nicholas not to mention Withington in fact all other rural peripheral areas where schools are next to minor roads. An Eastern Bypass has to be the first priority then you can put down as many cycleways, pedestrian precincts or bus lanes as you like. It took me thirty minutes this evening to get from the Ambulance Station to Tupsley a route that demands that I drive around the city to go back on myself. Thirty minutes was the same time it took to make the rest of my journey to Newport. Please let's have some common sense....Forgive me but our local party is called Its Our County and not Its Our City! -
Heh all ok people's.. I'm not a prospective councillor looking for votes just very happy to buy coffee whilst maintaining anonymity to those who have engaged in written conversation over the last nine months. The offer is their on both sites and it is just that an offer.

Yep the M40 for many many years running up from Oxford to Warwick for me it slashed my journey time by almost an hour. Fantastic but busier now..more people more cars more industry and that's life. -

Well we will have to disagree Amanda because I don't accept that it is solely due to local journeys and I would fully support a dual carriageway around the east of the city in fact I would go for an orbital ring road if the money was there. The southern relief road on its own is a waste of money without a bridge. Anyone that has to use a car to travel outside the County knows the problems and again you still have not answered my question regarding road infrastructure outside the city walls. If I want to go to Gloucester/Cheltenham it will take me 50 minutes in a car well have you ever tried it in a coach or train..your having a laugh it's a day trip. Good Luck with your quest however if the IOC grasps the anti roads thread then it's time in local government will be short. I'm not saying concrete the planet and I love the concept of car free zones within cities but just at the moment all roads in Herefordshire lead to the city so personally I want common sense realistic options of how to deal with traffic that travels through and can avoid the city centre!
