  1. Yep Dazza mate all correct...bloody maddening isn't it!
  2. There you go..cracking its all sorted I saw a very similar document four years ago and I see this one is a year old but things can't be going to plan after all a lots happened these last twelve months.
  3. Oh don't worry Flam if my CV was being pitched to a Sales & Marketing set up I would use a similar ' speak' but I learnt to adjust the CV to suit the audience to which it was directed.
  4. Hi Adrian..yes I do because Debenhams offers a better product offering for old knights that still wear double cuff shirts etc. M&S is pretty poor these days and although there are a couple of gents shops about I'm a little tight with my shrapnel.
  5. So true Flam...on occasion when I have wondered into a hospital management office I have seen them ..those chosen words carefully formatted coded marketing strategic speak. Words that you mention, stakeholder, care pathways, referral mechanisms, signposting, moving forward and so on written on nobo boards by Project Managers, University Researchers, Consultants,Analysts and so on. The Romans had the right approach to building pathways all I would do is make sure the signs that give direction are in a language that we can all understand ..not just the marketeers!
  6. So I've had a good day therefore I'm sitting down in my old chair in a devil may care mood but here goes my take on health and social care. Most people realise the importance of healthcare perhaps more so than mental health and social care which are the Cinderella services much of which is locally funded yet without doubt they should be all bundled together and dealt with locally but I don't think this will happen now and so why you may ask? After this election billions of pounds needs to be shaved off the deficit and none of the main parties have said how this will be achieved but we know. It's going to be said Cinderella organisations so it would be politically damaging to start shaving off millions within a combined health and social care scenario. No sir.. wanting to close maternity units emergency departments and surgical treatment centres are far more derisive than boarding up a few more nursing homes or closing down another child or mental healthcare unit. So it won't happen and although places like Manchester have embarked on such a scheme I can't see it happening here which is ironic as Hereford was talking about it years ago and why not the geographics/demographics ticked all the boxes. Trouble is we simply did not have the right people with the guts to make it happen...careers,personal gain or loss is far to important you see! So I'm banking on the next government offering the electorate choices, very difficult choices about where the cuts will come when reviewing health and social care, no courage just passing the buck straight back to you the voter. Just for the record I feel that huge sums of money have been wasted in the NHS over the last thirty five years. When I walked into my first paid role as an operating theatre orderly back in 1978 I had just 4 'O' levels in my back pocket. With on the job training I know ..let's call them apprenticeships I qualified as a Theatre Technician then went on to complete my State Registered Nurse training whilst participating in the Territorial Army finally landing up as a surgical scrub specialist before leaving in the early 90's working for medical companies whilst still keeping a voluntary hand on the medical kit . These days you have to have a degree to open a bloody door correctly and in health and social care the more letters after your name does not make you necessarily a better clinician in fact I have known many a doctor whose mind was a fountain of all knowledge yet simply could not ply his/her trade. Despite all the education, training,IT and infrastructure, hospitals could still perform better. Suites of Operating Theatres standing idle at weekends or empty outpatient clinics because it's half term and we've all gone off to the seaside. Now of course we are creating another beaurocratic monster going by the name of the Care Quality Commission where nursing staff are leaving their posts to join a group who then return to check up on those colleagues they left behind and pretty soon their numbers would have got so big that another organisation will be created to ensure that they too are up to scratch..absolute madness and of course these are all hangers on..not in your face frontline staff except of course for that odd shift on Agency perhaps Taurus Healthcare just to keep your registration number that allows you to continue to practice. I care very much about the NHS but I don't like where it's going and sadly some of the blame lies firmly in the lap of today's healthcare professionals.
  7. Apologies I seem to have missed this thread but anyway welcome Dazza333 I think perhaps you were pointed out to me by Jim Kenyon some weeks back whilst IOC were pitched up in town. I little short of time this morning but will respond to some of the comments made.At local level we have many challenges when driving change in the NHS and one of those has been the lack of positive action by our two current MP,s The nice but dim twins should have been banging on the Health Ministers door every bloody day these last five years highlighting in clear bullitt points about what is needed to improve healthcare provision in this fine county but no they towed the " keep your heads down" party line ...I don't think the Whip was needed. Let's not forget the finger in the air billions promised but only if even more billions are saved first. None of the major parties know how to deal with the old girl now because it means spending more money and that don't cut it with deficit reduction.
  8. Agreed Roger and its a shame because we are not a big County you can't lose wrong doings within a mass population like our big city neighbours. Everyone knows everyone else but just a few bad apples have had a huge impact which is why I simply can't understand how this whole sorry episode unravelled. Experienced officers should be mindful of their actions or perhaps reactions to responses and attitudes to the uniform. There perhaps lies the problem after all the boys in blue are now the men in black which stimulates a different reaction from certain members of society. I'm not surprised at all about the outcome and those who offended should be brought to book however recently a surgeon in Coventry recently won a case of unfair dismissal for whistleblowing ...brilliant news, he stuck with his cause and I admired him immensely. He now submits a claim for millions...Well if he cared for the NHS he would merely claim for loss of earnings and be gone. He stood up, made a stand, won his case and walked away with his credibility intact but in an instant blows my respect. I don,t know Julian but I hope he might choose a similar path to me where to make a stand, see justice served on those who have abused their position of trust and then quietly walk away comfortable in mind, body and spirit. ..
  9. I ponder yes ponder at it all..last night, today and most certainly tomorrow! You see I thought continent migration would start because of climate change crop failures and the like. Wars would be fought based on the need for water but nope we humanity decided to accelerate the process ourselves initially placing little seeds that grow and destroy countries for government/corporate benefit. Now it has started more than a trickle as natural barriers claim some lives but hey what's in a number...they will still come because it's life or death. Whether your in a boat or an island your not gonna escape what's coming. Some say don't worry it's a remote threat over there not hear but that's now maybe not tomorrow but next year? In years past we this once great nation explored the world and did many good things, many bad things and shared our love of rats that came along for the ride. We get Japanese Knotweed which is very destructive but nothing compared to Islamic State whose eyes are firmly set on Europe so we should be prepared for what is to come for it is coming be assured. IS feeds on young disaffected people and like a virus it's going to be impossible to control. So Bobby47 we are screwed and its out of our hands other than putting our cross for Purple Ronnie even though he will form an alliance with his brother con. I saw Arthur Scargill today the old warrior but his eyes are tired his frame weak he still carries the scars of the blue whip across his back. Me ...well it's escapism just now as I cast my gaze across a few Thomas Hardy titles but even then each title could be a reference to this crazy world ...Far from the Madding Crowd, Jude the Obscure, good old Tess and of course ...a Pair of Blues Eyes! That would be your favourite Bobby I feel sure of that after all Mr Slick has a lot to answer for mate.
  10. GK,s top tip...keep your hands where they can be seen at all times!
  11. Actually that should be "tick me and collect" corruption at the highest level...
  12. Great words indeed Bobby and to be honest as an old soldier said in relation to World War 2 when another pantomime dame was marching and dancing through Europe....." they don't like it up um Mr Mannering" ( This phrase has been liberated from a fantastic comedy series where dressing up was mandatory. These thoughts are my own and not those of said Hereford Voice. If I have offended anyone I humbly apologise and should not have mentioned the war.)
  13. Sadly Paul he hasn't thought this through. Thirty years ago a certain ex regiment lad called Mr Wiseman offered stimulating conversation and participation down in there woods for corporate types who want to be splattered with paint! Even those vehicles were American. I have a great picture of it parked up outside the Green Dragon hotel..not far from where these shots were taken.
  14. Well I shall polish up the suit...Perhaps the dress uniform if we are all off to court! This chap likes dressing up I'm sure he won't mind.
  15. Yes Ubique and I got the impression that it ran on a similar prospectus but I could be wrong!
  16. Hi Jim ...just to add to this most larger HGV,s have a problem with the height restriction on the A465 at Pontrillas.( railway bridge) . Also this route is only valid if your looking for deliveries off the heads of the valley road or going for a substantial trip to Neath & Port Talbot.( nice road though). As for using the A49 south for Monmouth and the West well a lot of said lorries turn right on the A4137 just before the Pengethly Manor Hotel. That cuts the corner and brings them out at the Symonds Yat turnoff.
  17. Thanks Denise. Something for the future perhaps but wouldn't it be great if the market could work something out that could help 're-engage' both children and townies which don't come from a farming background! Not sure who owns the surrounding land but there is space.
  18. Might be wrong Cambo but I think Denise was replying to Aylestone Voice. I understand in the old days Market Day was a rare day out for the farmers wife so I wonder if this has changed since the relocation?
  19. For these poor souls possibly though I would still go East Route first with as Colin states another bridge to the West of the city. I'm not that far from Aylestone yet would still prefer the route on this side if we can only have a bypass rather than a ring road which is probably pie in the sky as opposed to blue sky thinking!
  20. Well that's me in the book as well however if we had a ring road we would in fact be making their journey a less stressful one or at least making a small contribution depending on how far they are travelling.
  21. Oh Rebecca you have Roger wrong. As a Liverpool supporter he has probably tried heels it's just he is a fitness chap and likes the walking
  22. To be fare Colin this was local traffic!! (Tongue in Cheek) I've seen those sheep outside the Commercial ..apparently a frequent user of this fine establishment was holding auditions for new recruits for his new lamb dancing gig.
  23. Now they have finally finished the pavement on Roman Road this pelican crossing is being used a lot. The trouble is that the traffic is backing onto the roundabout when the lights are red and because of this south facing traffic coming down the A49 cannot exit. Traffic blocks the roundabout and its quite possible that traffic coming from Roman Road Holmer Park side could easily attempt to go around the roundabout for the A49 and drive into this traffic. I can see this island roundabout losing all the current landscaping to improve safety. The traffic on the A49 can now get back as far as Kenchester water gardens during school and college term time.
  24. Well I'm a fat knight and don't mind a bike but sadly after many years on spin bikes a certain prostate gland screams at me even if I look at a set of handle bars! This thread is worth reviewing from the start as there is a lot of opposition to this road on this site.
