Colin, Belmont is a ward in its own right. It is not part of Hunderton and St Martins ward. ( not Hinton & Hunderton).
-
Which is the alternative route? Kilvert road has a road closed sign, now this one, and the road leading to Goodrich Grove along the Belmont road in front of the flats mentioned in the other post although only supposed to be closed for 12 weeks is still closed two years later. As a pedestrian you take your life in your hands every time you step out of your front door, if you live around the Oval development site.

Speaking to the people building them in the past few weeks, there has been trouble with them internally, they are expected to be tenanted by end of July. It is a pity Mr Edwards do not engage with his constituents he has now on Newton Farm, again on Monday I will be meeting tenants to attempt to solve their problems they are experiencing. At their request. To be honest I haven't stopped helping the people although officially I am not their councillor anymore!

leaflets were put through peoples doors in Newton Farm in the past two weeks for this event. I attended it last Saturday in another capacity, for the Vote Leave campaign, whilst we were there between 2pm to 4pm there was not the expected crowds of people in attendance. Very poor turnout up to 4pm no more than a few hundred people. Unless they all turned up in the last hour after we left.

It is pointless keep going on about a tram system, it won't happen. Many years ago Albert Heinz wanted a tram on the GWW, Herefordshire Council refused to consider it although there would not of been any cost to them, because Mr Heinz was going to not only pay for its construction but also maintain it. Again in the past two years there has been two Petitions requesting a tram system and the lights to be turned off at Asda, While Cllr Philip Price is with the Cabinet he will not consider it, and has said so many times.

To any member who may be interested Nigel Farage Battlebus is in Ledbury High street next Thursday 16th June between 12.30 and 1.00pm.

The leave campaign went to the Country park picnic yesterday afternoon, a lot of people came up to me asking for a Leave teeshirt everyone I spoke to are voting LEAVE. The Herefordshire Battle Bus then went round the streets of Newton Farm, Belmont, Tesco, Asda and parts of Redhill, people was very responsive, tooting horns and giving us the thumbs up sign. Very encouraging and successful day.

megilleland, excellent where did you get it from?

Cambo, As I have said previously Cameron a coward, he wouldn't share the platform with Farage, or Boris but his MP's have written to the 1922 committee to challenge his leadership and position of PM, they wnt him gone. But in one of the daily national papersthis morning his father-in-law has stated that even if the people vote for Brexit it won't happen because the MPs will stop it, so much for democracy, note as Megilleland said Divide and rule strategy again.

I thought Nigel held his own, Cameron couldn;t really answer the question about immigration, and rather disappointed he didn;t get the kicking I hoped he would get.

Planning Committee Approves Southern Link Road

The Independent leader is not happy. -
Megilleland., I got a very good response from the people in the 4 hours I was canvassing, some wanted to know if they could get one of the Leave teeshirts and I gave away 3 leave posters the people came to my home to collect them. Everyone I have spoken to whilst delivering the leaflets over past two weeks on Newton Farm have all been supporting the Out campaign. I will be watching the Cameron /Farage tonight, going to be a very good debate pity Cameron didn't have the guts to share the platform with Farage though.

Planning Committee Approves Southern Link Road
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Planning
I have just received a phone call from one of the people against the road, a request for a named vote was requested and agreed. 12 councillor voted for (including both South Wye Cllrs chappell and Edwards) 4 members of IOC voted against one abstained. I left the meeting at 5.20pm after sitting in the meeting since 2pm, it is my understanding the meeting went on until 7pm. When I get the named list of CLlrs and the way they voted I will post it here! -
The planning site visit for this road is happening tomorrow morning, below are the stopping points: The site visit will be conducted from the coach and from a number of pre-arranged locations. It will convene at 10.30am at Veddoes Farm, Grafton Lane, and then at approx 11.30am at the agriculture access 300 metres north of Haywood Lodge cottages, Haywood Lane. At these points interested members of the public will have the opportunity to listen to, but not partake, in any discussion with the members of the planning committee.

I have asked if the road leading from the left of the Oval to Goodrich Grove can be re-opened as from Monday, the bus company has also asked for this to happen. this road was supposed to be closed for six weeks that was in 2014, it has been closed ever since. More chaos as if we haven't got enough around the Oval already
-
I will be at this planning meeting on Monday afternoon, cant wait to hear what Cllr Edwards will say, as he is all for this road being built, we know what Cllr Chappell wants to get on with building it. This road will not work without a river crossing, it will just be a 'road to nowhere' as I named it a few years ago. The destruction of woodland, nature habitat not to mention people gardens doesn't matter to the Cllr's on the planning committee as long as they get their own way!!!. I have always been against this road coming from the south.

Where is the Newtonfarmers environment group, they are advertised on the notice boards at the Oval for their cleaning up of Newton Farm. Contact Phil Edwards he's the chairman of this group and also the councillor for Newton Farm.
