Cambo- yes the roofers told me themselves they are each getting £500 per day, that £4,000 a week multiply it by 6 weeks a lot of money. I asked were they the original roofers and they said no, Keepmoat had contacted their firm. I do not think the build was done on the cheap it was government money which amounted to millions of pounds. The problem is they were put up to fast and as you say corners have been cut. keepmoat has a terrible reputation in the north of the country and they were not the original builders that Herefordshire Housing approached, but the others backed out of the contract. The houses and apartments look ok but now they are built there is something wrong with all of them!.

One young couple came to see me last Friday for advise with their grandparents who used to be two of my constituents ( they had paid the deposit for their grandchildrens house for them) they have only moved in 3 weeks ago and their is serious faults with the property I advised for them to go to Keepmoat as they have to put it right, they told me Keepmoat don't want to know, so they are having to find the money for a solicitor to fight their case on their behalf.

Best Site For Tourist Information Centre
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford City
I think the building in Broad street is an ideal place for it to be,Hereford Cathedral could also promote their tours of the city there like before. At the moment the only place you can get information is the foyer of the Town Hall from the custodians, but as that is now closing, together with the coroners office, birth death marriage office and the Mayor Palour are being close (so I was advised)by the custodians in favour of signposting service in the near future. -
yes I was told people had moved in, and when there was a heavy rain storm complained water was coming into their homes through the roof.

Having spoken to the workmen two weeks ago they told me a new firm has been appointed to replace the roof. The roofers ( 8 of them) are getting paid £500 per day each for the six week period it will take to completely renew the roof. I am sorry to say the whole redevelopment houses and flats are causing concern, speaking to people moving into these properties there are faults in them from, floors unlevel, leaks in bathrooms, and kitchens, and in one area the houses have been built and they did not put the services in, so had to dig a 6ft trench to put them in. People have moved in across the road from me and workmen are having to go back to put things right, these are properties that have been bought!

In my opinion Obama should not of said anything, and I was not impressed by what he did say, I haven't changed my mind I vote OUT,OUT OUT. After the elctions on Thursday, the outside of my home will leave no one in any doubt of which way I'm voting.

that is terrible, don't know where she lives, tell her to get in touch with the HHL estates manager for the area, then tell him / her that you taken advice and they are responsible, otherwise they will go to the press. I had water pouring through my bathroom ceiling from the upstairs flat ( they overfilled the bath) which ruin my carpet, throughout the flat I told HHL they had to replace it, because I wasn't going to claim off my insurance, HHL paid for my new carpet.

If you give me more information I will try and help, in what way is the roof leaking?

The union flag is flying right across the front of my home. And will stay there until the referendum.

Unless they have changed the planning application , these properties are like the one's at the Oval development, one and two bedroom in the same block, some are also for sale in this block. Parking for these properties are immediately before the properties in Priors walk on the land that used to be a church. I went to the community lunch at Kindle last Friday and people approached me asking for my help in regard to having parking permits for residents in Priors walk and Southgate Court because people are parking in their spaces now. I pointed them in the direction of Cllr Rone, being the Cabinet Cllr for Highways, give him his due he did speak to them when I asked him to ( he was there because he the cook for the community lunch) Phil Edwards and Chris Chappell was there going round the tables asking the people had they enjoyed their lunch. Just a thought if you want to speak to your Cllrs maybe you should join the community lunch club at the Kindle centre, £2 for a two course lunch with entertainment afterwards. Sorry gone off subject slightly.

The Queen is a wonderful lady, who I had the privilege of meeting and speaking to at the Buckingham palace garden party in 2005. Many congratulations on your 90th Birthday your Majesty.

K Butt, Liz Harvey is the deputy leader of IOC, that said, when she is around their leader says nothing!. She is a very self opinionated woman, she is always right and everyone else is wrong in her eyes. stating that our national flag would be mistaken for the national front is discusting, and in my opinion a slight on our Queen. If that is how she feels she should go back to live where she came from or better still leave Britain altogether !!!.

Traffic Solutions for Hereford - Dream On!
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
If you look at the link on Colin initial post on the subject, the link is the Core Strategy, the LTP and the South Wye Transport Package are different parts of the Core Strategy when we went to Belmont Abbey because the Core Strategy was the subject of a Inspectors inquiry hense why it did not go ahead. The South Wye Transport Package was brought to the public attention around 3/4 years ago at a consultation over three consecutive days at the Three Counties Hotel, I attended at different times over the three days to speak to the people as a Belmont councillor, all other councillors turned up on the afternoon of the last day. The South Wye Package is the linking of the A465 Belmont road and A49 Ross road also linking up to the Rotherwas Access Road.It wasn't until we attended the consultation where we found out the river crossing in the original plan was dropped.that is why I called it the "road to no where" It is supposed to ease the congestion on both roads but it won't because all its doing is moving the traffic from the A465 to the A49 with no alternative route once you get to Rotherwas.- 14 replies

Traffic Solutions for Hereford - Dream On!
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
Having just spoken to a councillor of many years service I asked about this road, he has advised me that the trees, cycle and bus lane along Belmont road has been quashed months ago, and if this road is passed when it goes to cabinet there will be a lot of problems. Therefore the pictures in the Core Strategy is misleading!- 14 replies

Yes he was responsible for the traffic being reversed, only for it to be turn back at a great cost to the tax payers of Hereford. Also in the press he is saying he is the local parish councillor he is for the Belmont ward not for the Newton Farm ward. Why the HT says he was an ex-mayor he hasnt been mayor for around 25 years. If he wants to be in the spotlight why did he not stand for council again. I remember him giving an interview to the HT at the 2003 elections where he said he would not be standing again, as he was going before he was pushed. yet he still seeks the spotlight.

Traffic Solutions for Hereford - Dream On!
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
The trees is the dream of Phil Edwards, he also said he wanted a cycle lane /bus lane down the left hand side of Belmont road, can you imagine the cars wanting to turning into walnut Tree Ave they will have to come out of the left hand lane such as it will be to turn right. he was only speaking about this last Saturday at the Independents meeting I attended, throwing his hands in the air with a grin on his face saying that everyone wants this road, He was told to dream on no one wants it !!!- 14 replies

I have never seen any security guards there. The problem is these properties are built very close to the new bridge so climbing on the bridge wall would make access very easy with the scaffolding there.

I see the difference between the north / south divide has reared its head again! it has been proved by the police many times the vandalism has not been done by the teenagers in Newton Farm. You ask why do we give them things its because the people of South Wye care about the people here! can the north say that?. I was born and bred in South Wye and lived here all my life, and wouldn't live anywhere else!

You have all got the wrong plot of ground it is the old Hunderton school land that has been passed after one developer walked away and it has taken five years for another developer to come along and got their application passed. It is for housing and bungalows.
