New European Shop For South Wye Hereford.
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
In regard to the parking, a lot of residents have complained to me about it, I passed them onto the local councillor and cabinet member for highways. Not heard back from residents since so I take the problem has been sorted or in the process of being sorted. -
As this a South Wye initiative are all the councillor for South Wye helping out?
-
It should still be there it was outside the old Hardings store that burnt down many years ago.
-
Some are still tenants in the existing flats waiting to be demolished the other have been housed all over Herefordshire.
-
Getting back to original post I have to agree with Bill and H Wilson, when the redevelopment of the Oval was first consulted on I said the old flat could be replaced by new build ones, but HHL had got the money from Government and said the families around the Oval deserved to have houses with gardens, what they didn't tell us was out of over 200 flats being demolished, 259 2,3,4,bedroom houses were being built but the developer only agreed to build them if they were given 159 of the properties to sell on the open market. So HHL could not house all the people coming out of the flats. The houses are also small inside especially the 2 beds, the 4 beds are all for sale.Again the block of flats in Beattie Ave being 4 storey was supposed to have a lift but HHL had the lift shaft removed in the development stage because they said it was to expensive to install and maintain.

Thet are a mixture of one and two bedroom appartment on each floor like the ones in Beattie Ave. Also there is a rumour going round that the other 6 bungalows are going to be 2 bedroom with bathrooms instead of showers I had it confirmed this week by HHL the rumour is untrue, all bungalows are the same as the others one bedroom.

I read in the Daily Telegraph that the CQC regulator for GP services who want to bring in the 7-day GP service is being investigated by MPs because they are falling down on their work to the public, and people are going to social media sites to complain.

I hope the new owners will do something of lack of lighting in their car park, I fell there last November sustain three cracked ribs and three people witnessed this, But when I reported my fall they did not respond to see if I was OK or recovered from my cracked ribs although I told them about my injuries.

Dippy hippy - ALL councillors voted for the 3.9% increase in council tax today. Ragwert - according to the HT story the council is in consultation with SHYPP to cut their funding by 66%. that is why they were in High Town last week for people to sign their petition.
-
I have been contacted by several people today having read my story in the press, to sign the petition, I told them its on this website, they said we do not have a computer so would I start a paper petition that they can sign, like I did before. I will read your comment now Greenknight. very good comment lets hope they listen. No one have left any comments on the story yet.

I attended a meeting last week to discuss adult social care with the new lead officer for adult wellbeing Martin Samuels. During his presentation he told us that in five years the council will no longer be commissioning services, and the increase of 3.9% will be increased by this amount every year for the next four years, to pay for services. The council is looking for everyone to pay their social care themselves.
-
The HT poll states 86% of the people want to keep the walk-in centre open

Hererford Times website is back up, but some of todays stories have disappeared.

DILLIGAF, Having got the following info from a reliable source , there is no facility where you can ask for an FOI about a councillor and what he has done for his/her ward. The info I was given is for a group of residents (between 30-40) to write to the councillor themselves and ask for the written info from him. will send you a PM.
-
DILLIGAF. the parents taking their children to school/nursery DO USE The GWW/LINES they live in the streets around where I live and people coming from Redhill to Oval also has to walk amid the site. In regard to the building of the Belmont estate many years ago it was never like the oval site and there were 10 different developers up there, I know I went there every day because the cleaning business I owned had the contract to clean the houses before the people moved in also the show houses!

ASDA's Planning application for a petrol station
Glenda Powell replied to Chris Chappell's topic in Asda
Asda got their planning application passed because in a 106 planning agreement they were supposed to give some of the land over to building a block of flats like the ones across the road as you go into St Martin Street, they were never built, that is also why the slip road onto the bridge was built as access to the flats. This is where they now want to put their garage. -
DILLGAF, the next elections are in May 2019, so you have Phil Edwards for 4 years.

i would like to thank both Ipussycat and greenknight on your kind and very much appreciated comments. It has been brought to my notice by many people in Newton Farm that they were told not to vote for me as i was seriously ill and was going to die within six months so their vote would be wasted, by your now councillor, just to clarify I am not seriously ill and as it is nearly 9 months since the election in May, I am very much alive!!! but thank you for those that did not take any notice and voted for me!.

i was contacted and interviewed this morning by an HT reporter asking for my comments on the closure of the walk-in centre.

DILLIGAF. My complaint was made to HHL because they have their own team for the oval regeneration,They said they are pleased that I keep in contact with them ( just for information the steering group for the development has been disbanded) that is why I contacted them. As I said in my other post on this subject, I still have contact with the site manager and his assistant site manager but they are not always at the site office when I call. Just for clarification Mark Butler is the decant office for those tenants still waiting to move to the new properties. The forklift driver I spoke to HHL team about they told me last Friday that they had received numerous complaints about him. In regards to the local councillor you yourself have said only today in another post he doesn't answer peoples letters, he also doesn't answer their emails or phone messages, therefore people have told me it is useless in trying to contact him, hence why they are still coming to me! Again the parents who contacted me their children were at arms length in buggies. No one knows better than myself what it is like around the site I live right in the middle of this development! I am aware that you are "friends" with the site managers but that doesn't excuse the fact they are /have ignored the health and safety on this development, and I am not the only resident that has said that!.

I went to the consultation meeting on Monday at the Kindle centre, having been asked by the parents to attend, one councillor and two officers from the council was there along with parents of the children. I did get the opportunity to speak asking why are the council only allowing 15 out of the 25 children now attending after April, where are these other 5 going for their respite care, also asking why the council are still advertising for carers for these children offering them up to £700 per week and any adaptations to their homes would be paid for, when in my opinion they could put the money into improving the facilities in 1 Ledbury road and paying trained staff to work there. Also what wil happen in 12 months time the parents would be back to where they are today with the threat of closure again, needless to say they didnot give me an answer other than that the council have not got any money for the services, and they are looking to the parents to go onto direct payments and pay for their child respite themselves. I then replied then why do you not pay the parents the £700 that you are willing to pay foster carers your advertising for. I did not get an answer to that question!

Taken from Hereford Times today (29.1.16) TAURUS EXTENDS IT STAY IN HEREFORDSHIRE. A SERVICE providing urgent care services has extended its stay in Herefordshire. Taurus healthcare Ltd, part of the Prime ministers Access Fund Pilot, has been based in Hereford, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye. It was set up as part of an national pilot to extend GP services into weekends and evenings. Bosses have told the Hereford Times this afternoon that it has secured funding from NHS England to "remain operational" for a short period past March 31. When the Prime Minister Access Fund pilot is due to come to an end. "Taurus Healthcare Ltd, the GP federation and the CCG are working actively with colleagues in NHS England, to secure ongoing funding for this very popular and successful service", said Taurus in a statement. To continue to deliver services whilst these discussions continue, additional funding has been secured for a further period which will enable the service to remain operational whilst these discussions are completed. "the CCG has an ongoing programme of patient and public engagement on the urgent Care Pathway . The continuation of this process will seek further the view of local people and the wider community". As reported by the hereford Times yesterday, CCG bosses say they are considering closing the GP walk-in centre in Hereford and minor injury units in Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury and Kington. In their place the CCG bosses says this current working with GPs and NHS England to take forward the "development and implementation of seven-day GP services". END
