I haven't been to Coffee 1 yet simply because I had no need to go into town, hoping to go there sometime this week.
-
Adrian- I have not taken offence, I am not a politician anymore but even when I was I wasn't liked by many of the councillors simply because I spoke my mind, and they didn't like a few home truths.

Dilligaf - I have friends working at the hospital their shifts starts at 7.30am also friends in the care industry working for Kemble again they start work at 7.30am and they have grown up children, they do a seven hour day sometimes longer so please tell me any nursery that starts at 7am and closes at 5.30pm that could possibly be a 10 hour day if they are short staff. This would not enable this young woman to get a job there, also they earn just the basic wage. As someone wrote in the HT replying to the story why does most of the people who has commented assume that because she is a single mum she claiming benefits? DILLIGAF I am not having a go at you! As I said previously on this post I have worked on the young woman behalf and knows what problems she has had to put up with, and they are ongoing I have learnt myself when I was a Councillor I had to go to the papers in regard to a few problems so that to get the problem resolved I am sorry to say that HHL are quick to respond when they are mentioned in the HT, they don't like that.

Yes the tenants got a grant from the government not as an insentive to move but because technically they were being made homeless by their flats being demolished, not everyone got the same amount, and Frank if you have lived on Newton Farm all your life you know as well as I do the problems on the estate. The young lady in question used to live in the flats that been demolished so they had first offer for the new houses, not all the tenants stayed some of them moved away, considering their were 194 flats and only 130 of the new properties were for the tenants, some had no choice but to move away, and those did not have new houses, some live elsewhere on Newton Farm in the cornish 2 story flats. As for the Vortex I used to help out there with the teenagers so like you I am entitled to comment as well! Slim with respect you do not know the circumstances she has been living under, you tell me where anyone can get a full time job these days, and even if she could she probably would not earn enough for nursery fees.

Why do Ineed to wash my mouth out DENISE, i thought we still have freedom of speech in this country!
-
Yes especially as the planning application had only just been passed by planning officers under delegated powers. It obviously pays to be a cabinet member of the Tory administration!.
-
Frank, with respect these problems went far beyond snagging problems and nearly 12 months after moving in she is still having problems!. Your comment about the Vortex site is irrelevent now, is wrong if they had listened and took note of the concerns raised at the planning stage about this site there will not be experiencing the problems now, also the police station was built on the car park for the youth club, and again that was pulled down because of the problems there.Having lived in Newton Farm for 40 years. I am well aware of the problem on the estate.

Dilligaf, to be fair to Ms Jackson she has had a lot to put up with and up till May I was working on her behalf with HHL and Keepmoat as one problem was resolved another came along. When she complained initially neither HHL or Keepmoat wanted to take responsibility and told her to go and speak to the other. The ground on the Vortex site should never had been built on , when it was the open space we had many problems with the ground over many years waterlog and on occasions sewage was running down the road because of the many houses that had been built in a small area around the Vortex site the sewage pipes could not cope. In regard to your comment she should of gone to HHL not the HT, she did and she was getting nowhere fast..
-
In the HT this morning a tenant has complained about the problems she has had since she moved in to her home in Vortex Way last December, I was helping her with her problems up til May, she says the houses are going up to quickly, and I have to agree with her. I have received many complaints about these houses. Other residents living in ajoining streets away from the development are being affected by the build, you expect some disruption living around a development but it is total chaos.

MET OFFICE WARNING. Herefordshire is set to feel the force of storm barney from lunchtime today. Gusts of wind set to reach 50mph this evening following heavy rain at lunchtime. The met office has issued a YELLOW warning across Herefordshire and surrounding areas for winds which is active between 4pm today until 2pm tomorrow. The weather experts are asking the public to be aware of the risk of disruption to travel, adding gusts could bring down trees and damage to weakened structures.

The council doesn't remove rubbish in these areas as the housing belongs to Herefordshire Housing, you can now add Pixley Walk to these area. I asked HH when the redevelopment started round the Oval if the green waste bins from the flats could be put into these areas, they didn't take any notice in fact the developers are crushing them as they pull each block of flats down, I have seen them doing it on a daily basis as I live close to the development.

I know this family they do not live far from me, and I would be worried for his children. The houses being built are literally next door and the back garden backs onto the GWW . I will be asking them tomorrow has anything been done. Also their local councillor Phil Edwards is also the chairman of the steering group of this development for HHL so I will be asking the tenant has he contacted him.
-
Parking area will be to the left of the properties behing the old grave yard off Priors walk entering from Ross Road, unless HHL has changed its layout for the development.

Most of the teenagers that use it are not from Newton Farm, we found this out when there was trouble up there with teenagers drinking, three of which came from Hinton area. When the police interviewed the girls they found the drink was vodka in a cider bottle which she brought the drink from her home. Residents called me to the site as I was then the councillor. The original teenagers back in 1997 who are now grown up looked after the site because they went after the funding for it.

Having just spoken to the officer in chargeof the skate park at Herefordshire Housing he told me the funding came from Value For Money (VFM) it will be similar to Holmer road park but on much smaller scale (size same as it is now). There will be no extra lighting at the moment, I also asked for play equipment for 3-11 year olds, but he explained they need to go after funding again. I have told him if there is anyway I can help please contact me. He said he will keep me informed now. The skate park will be officially opened this December.

Its bad enough now around where I live with the properties being built across the road from me, and others being pulled down to the left of me. The traffic most morning are at a stand still with people in cars and buses fighting to go up and down the road, fighting for space with the builders coming along every few minutes. This is going on from 7.30am until 4pm six days a week! and we have another 2 years of this. you take your life in your hands just trying to cross the road.

My mother and aunty worked at the munitions factory, sadly my aunty lost her life there, and her husband was away fighting the war when it happened. All three are now buried in Saint Martins church yard.
-
Colin, unless the council changed their mind it was not a sheltered development.

I know where you live, but the name has changed, but the signs should be up by now. I will have a word with the powers that be.
