  1. I contacted BBLP this morning about a dead tree on the GWW which is now to be removed. The local steward came to see me at home this afternoon and he mentioned that someone on here had cleaned the signs, he said it should of been reported to him, I have now got his card and he said to contact him in future with any problems, so he has now left it to me to contact him.
  2. was told 2 weeks ago by an elderly man he asked the councillor for his help with a problem he told him he coudnt help him.
  3. have just been onto the estates manager for NF and advised him of the post on HV,I explained although I not the councillor for the area anymore I have asked him to get the area cleared asap.
  4. Ragwert, so please to hear this news, its been a long time coming.
  5. having made enquiries this morning, the police has said that they cannot advise people or councillors for the area what has happened at this stage, but an official statement will be made later.

  8. Cambo, I have just read HT take on the meeting, after reading it you can see why 16 councillors abstained.yes the majority that voted for it was Tory but new councillors from other party's also voted yes! but I don't think they knew what they were voting for because it was definately not clear. I found it embarrassing to sit there looking into the meeting from the public gallery seeing the Tories spoon feeding the councillors with their take on the Local Core strategy plan, and even more so that they were gulible enough to believe them. One Tory cabinet member asked me did I miss being a councillor and I told her yes, BUT NOT TODAY! Yes it was the people who gave them their vote in May, after all the diasterious decisions they made in the previous four years. They moaned about them on a weekly basis but then voted them all back in so they have only themselves to blame! they are very good at talking the talk but they also have to learn to walk the walk.
  9. Roger, I suggest you look at the first post on this subject someone else got in touch with Cllr Edwards about it because she was worried, and the couple got in touch with me, so are you calling them liars?I also don't appreciate you telling me to get a grip!I am just relaying what people have said to me and others because they are concerned.
  10. Roger and Colin, sorry to disappoint you both but the people walking their dog actually seen the people feeding the rats, and asked why, that was when they said " look at them they are lovely".
  11. Yes I agree with what you say four IOC councillors left the Herefordshire Independent group to start up IOC two of which passed away, one retired in May this year, the other is still with IOC. But they have another who left the Lib Dems to join them, so in total 5 councillors have left different groups to join IOC, now one of their own is leaving next week. When you are elected by the people to represent them by the party the electorate chose as the party they wanted to give their vote to, you should stay until the next election before walking the floor imo.
  12. When the designs for the Oval development was shown to the Steering Group meeting members, as the then Cllr living in Newton Farm I asked why there were no bungalows in their proposals, I was told there were no bungalows being built because they took up to much ground space I told them I did not agree and asked them to reconsider their proposals. It took 6 weeks to come to the next meeting where they offered 8 one bed bungalows, I refused their offer stating more were needed, a further 6 weeks later they came back with the offer of increasing the number to 14, at this point I agreed to the offer not wishing to push my luck although I was looking for 20. The first 8 are now nearly built and people are asking to be considered for them, the other 6 will be built next year. I feel if I had not stood my ground the bungalows would not of been built.
  13. There are two brooks plus the lakes in Newton Farm and Belmont, I know the council has put rat poison down at the lakes last year because I ask them to, which they did carry out but they said while people are feeding the rats they are not eating the rat poison, hense the problem is not solved. As someone else said previously a sign should be put up stating DONT FEED THE RATS!
  14. the latest figures I had which was last year while I was a Cllr was 4,700 on the Homepoint waiting list for rented accomodation, then take into the fact in regards to the new housing development of the Oval in Newton Farm, where more properties were pulled down than being replaced to rent (example 24 two bedroom flats being replaced by 14 two bedroom houses) that is 10 families just out of one block having to be found accomodation elsewhere. I know all of these people on the waiting list needs to be rehoused, but with the developers taking 50% in the case of Newton Farm development of new build to sell people are going into debt to afford a morgage to have somewhere to live. Imo if you pull down rented accomodation they need to be replaced with the same number of housing to rent.
  15. Ragwert, to answer your question: 1. I went to the South Wye police because they patrol the lakes. 2. Cllr Edwards has not dealt with the problem in fact he passed the buck to someone else. The people went to him because he is the chairman of the Belmont Country Park and he spends all of his time up there, also the Belmont Lakes is in his ward of Newton Farm.
  16. What happened at the Libraries and Museum meeting has a decision been made?
  17. Yes it was a farce, another example that Herefordshire Council doesn't know what they are doing. It was embarrassing to sit there in the public gallery and watch them dig themselves into a hole when trying to answer some Councillors questions, even when it was proved to them by two councillors the appendices were not on the council website all they said was yes they are. see document (post 14) 8 lines and they couldn't get that right. It didn't make sense!
  18. Apparently when the people were asked why they are feeding the rats they said look at them they are lovely!
  19. I went to the council meeting this morning, total confusion for the first 90 minutes, appendices was not available on the council website, although the administration said they were, a verbal explaination was given by Andrew Ashcroft also councillors did not have any minutes of the cabinet meeting yesterday to discuss the Core Strategy. After the verbal explaination. At that point I asked one of the councillors to propose an ajournment of the meeting for a week, that was refused, but the chairman said Councillors could have a 10 minute break for coffee. An amendment to the Core Strategy was proposed by Cllr Powers, Cllr Price and Edwards( Cllr for Newton Farm) voted against the amendment together with the Tory administration. A name vote was asked for with the result of 14 for the amendment 28 against 3 abstained. Therefore the amendment was lost. At 12.40pm the debate started which lasted 40 minutes a named vote was then taken 29 voted for the Core strategy, none against and 16 abstained. The core Strategy was PASSED.
  20. YES, see my post above where it says " Police officer says he sees him every day cutting grass in Belmont," that is why his constituents in Newton Farm says they have not seen him since the election, and he has not responded to their phone calls and emails, because they have contacted me with their problems and I have told them to contact him he is their councillor.
  21. The special full Council meeting tomorrow at the Shire Hall will start at 10am to officially adopt the Core Strategy, according to my council source the meeting will last approximately one hour, because as they said it is a for gone conclusion it will be adopted.
  22. Correction, what I meant to say is Cath North will be a stand alone councillor, no affiliation to any group on the council, but still represents her constituents in her ward.
  23. I was told of the rat problem at Belmont Lakes a few weeks ago, and that people were feeding them, rather dangerous because if they turn on people or any prey I have been told they go for the throat. I contacted the police when I was told about the rats, the local PC told me he tell Cllr Edwards as he sees him every day cutting the grass in Belmont. Cllr Edwards was at HHL consultation session on Monday for the development of the Oval, when I arrived the HHL officer told me I just missed him. That is the first time he been seen on Newton Farm so I was told since the election
  24. Denise, no there will not be an election she has not resigned from the council only IOC. She will still be a stand alone councillor, representing herself.
