For some reason some of my text above did not print so here it is : There will be 4 open spaces ( not sure where they will be located) and one play area, the new tenants have been told they have to pay a surcharge for the up keep of the open spaces and the play area, the tenants are not happy about this.

Hinton Community Centre Gym & Church Extension
Glenda Powell replied to Frank Smith's topic in Planning
The only church I know was there years ago is a spiritualist church. -
Colin, see my post 44, that was the answers to my questions, the other people a young couple were asking about the 2 bed houses the address they put down where they live is incorrect, they said they live in Charlton Ave, but they don't, they would be my immediate neighbours but they are not. Also the other two people were asking about the bungalows because I heard them say they thought they were 2 bedroomed. I did tell the officers from HHL that the info in the newsletter is wrong which is misleading the people, they agreed everything has changed, and the designs for the shops and flats above is only what they may look like. Apparently there each of the new tenants to pay for their upkeep. The one officer told me HHL are thinking of putting in one of the open spaces an outdoor gym for all age groups.

Dark Underpasses In Hereford - Update
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Thanks I will check this out, I am wondering if both Herefordshire Council and City Council have got or should have joint responsibility for these underpasses.- 45 replies

Apparently according to the HT today 7 people have come forward since the program last night, police are following up their leads. -
£10,000 Reward To Find Christian's Killer
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
Frank and Roger, my comments were actually said at the meeting in September, I was also asked by the police had I heard anything being said, a name had been mentioned which I told them, and the police said they had heard that themselves. Very sad on Crimewatch tonight the interviews of Christian mother and mother of his child, it brought tears to my eyes. Christian was a nice young man. -
£10,000 Reward To Find Christian's Killer
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
To little, to late has been done so far to catch the killer, hopefully something will come out of this tonight, see what is said in the update at 10.35 after the program is aired. -
Adrian, your correct less housing for rent, HHL has replaced a block of 35 flats for 14 two bed houses across the road from me. In the new Oval development there are 130 houses to replace 200 flats pulled down, A lot of the people of Newton Farm have been housed elsewhere there are two blocks of flats which have 1 & 2 bedroom properties in each block. Where the new properties are they are giving the streets new names, I think they would rename Newton Farm if they could, and I agree no pub the nearest one is the Vaga in Hunderton, so no social life on the estate with no pub and no community facilities, there are a lot of older people , children and teenagers living in Newton Farm with no community facilities for them. the buzz word is progress! but imo at what cost to the people who have lived in Newton Farm all their lives.

i have just come back from the drop in session was disappointed on 6 people including myself had come to ask question in 3 hours. The first eight 1 bed bungalows with shower facilities will be ready to be allocated by the New Year, the other six will have bathrooms, all bungalows will have driveways and space for a car with small garden. I was also told there are approx 30 families left in the blocks to be housed. The design of the refurbished shops and flats at the Oval look good. The Info Centre will be extended to accomodate couple of meeting rooms, but no community centre / hub for the estate which to be honest I am disappointed with we needed something to replace the community facilities which were at the St. Francis Church. HHL have not decided what will be put on the toilet block site, but I was told it could be small block of flats.

There were two more rpund the back, the baby shop next to the cold meat shop and where the Info centre is was Sid Wrights greengrocers I work there after school and weekends. Over the years the chippy has not got any better. In the days before Tesco you didn't have to go into town you could buy everything at the Oval. Also the pet shop replaced the chemists, they did a roaring trade. Ah those were the days!!!. I have lived in my home at Newton Farm for 40 years and what a difference some not for the better.

yes I received the Oct 2015 newsletter about the Oval Redevelopment, the toilet block was up for sale for £102,000, " the newsletter said HHL had now purchased the toilet block and are currently reviewing how the land can best be incorporated into the refurbishment". I will be attending as there are a few questions I want to put to HHL and Keepmoat.

Dark Underpasses In Hereford - Update
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I wouldn't use it in daylight let alone when its dark to many unseen corners for my liking, you could not see anyone lerking there until its to late. We won't get cctv look how long it took on GWW and the council didn't pay for that one, as I have said many time before unless its a 'pet subject' of the council's they are not interested. People's safety is right out of the window.- 45 replies

Denise I thought your coments were very harsh and uncalled for, a personal bereavement is very upsetting I have been through that myself. Regardless of what he has done in the past, no amount of money will help in these circumstances.

As I said back in June this year Herefordshire Housing did nothing then or since, and the estates manager for Hunderton is hopeless I have had many an arguement with her. Over a period of a year I have given names/addresses to them of five households dealing and useing drugs and they did nothing neither did the police and they are in the position to do something. But it is always the decent people that suffer, not the perbitrators. Maybe the tenants should tell Herefordshire Housing they will go to the press, because they don't like to see their name in the press. When I went to the press about a house in Newton farm they did something straight away.

Pete, Mr Norman has not left Herefordshire Council yet so no golden handshake as yet, but I have been told it should be between 75 and 120 thousand. But there are other reasons why he is leaving both to do with the council and personal family bereavement.

Germany has not helped the situation, but Theresa May 2 years ago was asked how many migrants she had allowed into the UK ,she said she didn't know. As Home secretary it is her job to know, she should lose her Home Office position and give it to someone who will have more control.

I have heard the Sarecens Head is going to sell local beers / ciders and its on the banks of the Wye. Ask Cllr Paul Rone its his establishment although he has managers to run it.

Its not only supermarkets that are charging, I went into Bonmarshe at the weekend and the assistant told me they will be charging for their bags as of today.

The houses was always going to be part of the application since around 2004/5 and it was controversial then, remember when the Rotherwas Access road was built and they covered over the ' Rotherwas Ribbon'. Back then it was 800 houses and there was also a river crossing, road widening in Ruckall Lane to the river and the bridge would of come out in Breinton Springs. but all that fell through because the council left it to late to go back to Advantage West Midland for the second stage money and objections about the housing. Now the application states the possibility of 15,000 houses and no river crossing, so another 'road to nowhere' is proposed.

Golden Galleon Open Until 3am
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Dead right! the council doesn't need any help to find an excuse, as I said in a previous post they are a law unto themselves. Having sat on the Regulatory committee for 8 years I was amazed what they let some people get away with, they took no notice of the police objections to their decisions, while other lost their licence, unfortunately most of the committee were Tories so they had the last word even if other members didn't agree with their decision.- 22 replies
