Beefy Boys Opening Soon...
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
I hope you are right Colin, but knowing the council I would not bank on that. -
Beefy Boys Opening Soon...
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
Good Luck boys! I am concerned for them as the business rates are high on the old market, and now the first 12 months free from rates have passed everyone has got to pay the rates. -
Golden Galleon Open Until 3am

the council would have a hard job to refuse other applications now, as they have set a president with the Golden Galleon.- 22 replies

Champagne Signature Restaurant (Union Street)
Glenda Powell replied to Roger's topic in Police & Crime
I told her she was wrong you have to have a passport, I asked her how she got here without one, at that point she said she had to go without answering my question. -

We were talking about where we had been in the EU on holiday, I mentioned southern Italy as my favourite place and that I would have to move quickly if i wanted to go back as my passport was about to run out, she told me I didn't need one as she had come here without a passport. -
Thank you for you crediting what I have achieved. If I mentioned all of my achievements in the 12 years as councillor it would take me quite some time. I have been a member on here since it started at Colin request. I read all posts and over the years I had as a Cllr attempted to get the requests answered, some were successful some wasn't. Over the years I was given a nickname of 'terrior' because I would not stop until I got things done however long it took, and I am still fighting for the people now because they are still coming to me for my help and at the moment I do not envisage it changing with the people not getting any response to their requests elsewhere.

Mr Norman not only got a 'golden handshake' from Wirral Council also from Devon council and now Herefordshire Council. This man has built a career of making a mess of things and then getting money for it, because he knew to much of what was going on behind closed doors that these councils didn't want to become common knowledge.

To H Wilson - I acknowledge Colin asking for more lighting a camera and suggestion about a tram on the GWW that was in 2010. And Colin involvement in the recent clear-up of GWW a few weeks ago. Victor- the subject was about the garages on the GWW. I was not looking for praise as to what I did for the people, that is not my way, I was answering the question about the Belmont Pools and mentioned what I had achieved as the then Cllr for belmont ward. It is common knowledge that I asked for CCTV on GWW and getting the money from the police commissioner because HC would not pay for it, you would of heard all this if you had been at the Kindle centre meeting. ( maybe you were?) The police also acknowledged what I had achieved because I was working closely with them all the time.

although a different story, when I was visiting a friend in hospital recently we were talking to a nurse from the EU, and she told us she came here without a passport in our conversation with her. -
UPDATE: As from 19th October no: 1 will only be open 4 nights a week Thursday to Sunday. 3 families so far will miss out on the night time respite care. So much for the councillors voting to retain Ledbury road and already a week later it was temporary closed and now this. This is disgraceful, WHERE IS THE COUNCIL DUTY OF CARE TO THESE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES!!

Bill you are correct, in regard to the Belmont Pools clean-up, as the then Cllr for the Belmont ward I asked for the clean-up, the story was in the HT, because a pet had died drinking the contaminated water. Ipussycat and other Belmont residents were on the photo in the HT. Also my 5 year campaign for the CCTV camera which was acknowledged by the HT this week also the radio stations, I stated this at the meeting at the Kindle Centre, where HC tried to take the credit.

I never agreed to the restricted opening hours of food outlets. Its the people intoxicated where the blame should be laid, also the police should have more control of the situation.- 22 replies

yes Colin you are correct, when I was a member of Regulatory Committee there were many, shops selling illegal items it was also found some of their staff should not of been in this country. -
The answer to that is because he knew to much of what was and still is going on behind closed doors. Still trying to find out how much his golden hand shake was to keep him quiet.

Pete. I agree with your coments above. It was on the cards to transfer all HDC services from Franklin House to the library then sell Franklin House. HDC thinks they are a law unto themselves and have been for some time. I attended the Full Council meeting last week and now I am nolonger a part of it, looking in from a member of the public point of view I am very pleased I am not a part of it any more. All they do is argue among themselves, they do not like any member of the opposition especially IOC and regardless of what the opposition say, the council does what it wants. Still those that make up the council the people elected them in May so they cannot now complain. I did not vote for anyone. Sorry Colin gone off subject.

Adrian- the local south wye PC does ours, don't know whether it makes a difference because we have our own police station and north would come under the Bath street station which I presume is busier being the central station for all Herefordshire, why don't you ask your local PC?

I have been paying for M&S bags for ages, they are bigger, and stronger, the one you get from Tesco are rubbish very thin and if you fill it to the top it then splits when you walk away from the till, you need two one in side the other to make it strong. I recycle my Tesco bags by putting the rubbish in them before they go into the black bags.

Not the Velodrome, but the skate park in Newton Farm is being renewed Herefordshire Housing has got funding to renew it because it sits on their land, it will be completed by next April. It is to be a smaller version to the one in Holmer road. Its been on the cards for the past year when I asked them as the then councillor could they put more children / teenage play equipment up there. Herefordshire Housing told me this last week.

As a supporter of the group, I received this email from one of the parents, I said I would put it on HV for them. I have not heard if Paul request for the meeting this morning actually took place. the email was sent to: Jo Davidson (Children services) Chris Baird, Jonathon Lester ( cabinet member children services) Richard Beeken (WV NHS Trust) Richard Watson ( care commisioning group). QUOTE: Morning, I won't start my salutiations with ''good' as it feels somewhat inappropriate! I hope that, as you read this email this morning, that you hang your collective heads in shame. You are all, to some extent, responsible for the shameful situation that we find ourselves in this morning some shoulder more of the burden than others. You must all be aware by now that, as of 5.20pm yesterday, parents who had children at Ledbury Road for respite last night were contacted, asking them to collect their children as the unit had to close for staffing reasons. I understand from Vanessa Lewis that all attempts and avenues had been explored in order to fill the void,to no avail. Staff sickness is regrettable and unavoidable, but you were all warned that, without a guarenteed extention of 12-18 months, this situation would occure sooner rather than later. It is no good putting out a statement on the 29th September claiming that the 'cliffedge of the 31st March' had been removed if, on 30th September, the worst fears of parents and the public are realised! You collectively watered down our proposed statement, and staff have continued to leave, as we predicted. You have not listened, and you certainly have not acted! The unit is also to be closed tonight,Thursday, with, at best, the 'hope' that it will be open for the weekend. However, Vanessa said it was possible that the unit will remain closed until Wednesday next week! This is an intolerable and unacceptable situation! you must ALL act today to prevent this possibility becoming a reality. The parents and families are being placed under unacceptable levels of stress and strain. The children are confused and upset! Remember, you all have a collective responsibility to ensure the continued @ retention of fesidential respite in Herefordshire and beyond', voted for by the County council just last Friday. I expect to hear from you this morning with your proposals to reopen the unit immediately. I would, at the very least, expect a meeting to be convened this morning, at which I expect to hear concrete proposals for the continued safe running of the unit, so that respite is provided for those children and families who have a statutory right to have it provided. It is not good enough any longer to say, 'We are working on this'. I look forward to your prompt response. Regards Paul END These parents have been very patient about this and conducted themselves with dignity, and got nowhere! I believe it is time for us all in Herefordshire to get behind them and make our feelings felt, will you join us?

i have got in touch with environmental health land polution team in regard to the house in Pixley Walk, I was told they will look into this with the officer dealing with it and call me back tomorrow, I wait with bated breath!

I rang Jessie Norman office he out of the country until next Friday, left message with his secretary to contact me in regard to 1 Ledbury road. She also told me he been in touch with the council and Jo Davidson (Children services) he waiting for them to get back in touch with him.

I was under the impression that the country park is public open space for everyone to enjoy, and dog owners go there to exercise their dogs.Isn't that what the park is for?

UPDATE: I got in touch with the man I know, he advised me he has not gone back to the council but is still with BBLP. He said I should go to the enforcement team of HC again as he knew I had been trying to bring this problem to a conclusion, he also said the new councillor should have taken up the complaint where I left off. Personally I think were wasting our time as we know the environmental health has not done anything, neither has HHL helped the lady living next door to this house, the only thing to get some movement imo is to go to the press!!!

I went to a meeting about the BID when it was being proposed and we were told only the retailers who sign up to the BID pays the extra money, unless it has changed, before everyone starts critisizing them lets wait a while and see what they have improved. You can't win with some people.
