People living north of the city has always run South Wye down for many years, they also say south of the city has everything done for them which really annoyes me. 20 years ago the people of South Wye started the South Wye Regeneration Board with government money, but to get the money all 5 estates had to work together which we did, every area has their own community association and community centre (with the exception of Newton Farm)we used the St Francis church and we achieved a great deal through sheer hard work. So you can understand why I am passionate about the area I have lived in all my life.Sorry I have strayed off subject.

First of all where is the garage located? HA garages are meant for cars only, but I have found in the past some people store things in them. Do not stop paying the rent on the garage. if you send me a email (see my website) or ring me (01432 360456) I will try to help you. Glenda

Roger, the people that are living in the flats and new housing round the Oval are using them, as well as the people living all over Newton Farm, and the workmen are always in the chippy or subway.
-
Roger, yes there is enough money in the area, the chippy, Subway and McDonald are very busy.
-
ragwert, I totally agree with your comments.

I will be attending this meeting at the Kindle centre, to see what is said and comment given the opportunity. It is another 'road to nowhere' because there is no river crossing now. it will not relieve the congestion on Belmont road but in fact add to it. If this goes through with its bus and cycle lane on the left and trees down the middle it will cut the left hand side of the road in half. Also where will the cars position themselves if they want to turn right into Walnutree Ave with the area that is now allocated to the right turn is a tree line boulavard?

When this development was first suggested that is 5 years ago now it was decided by the Steering group which I was a member that the trees would stay.(they have been there for around 100 years as when you came under the bridge you were in fact in the country and the trees were part of the farm land, belonging to the Newton Farm run by the Powell family) having seen the inside of these houses they are well proportioned in room size, no boilers in site, no radiators behind doors or sinks hanging over the bath. The part of the houses facing the road is their parking areas and the kitchen is in the front, the lounge with patio doors and garden is to the rear.

Denise, I would be waiting a long time, as I said just after the election I feel sorry for the people of Newton Farm, and 3 weeks after the election they are already finding that out!
-
What you can't see is the road turning left from the front of the Oval ( the bus route) that is inbetween the houses, and pathway before the trees. I have heard today the tenants that have moved into the properties are not happy, there is problems with the houses and gardens to the rear, and they have to pay a service charge for the bushes and parking spaces in front of their properties, also the one's by the play area has to pay for the new play area when it is put in and the upkeep of it. None of this was told to the tenants or members of the management group for HHL. Also the 4 storey flats have no lift, the lift shaft was being put in but then it was stopped by HHL because it was "to expensive" tenants have asked me to set up a meeting for them to come and speak to me, they have advised me they WILL NOT contact their new councillor. other residents have told me the same over the past week saying he is a waste of space, some have contacted him 3 weeks ago and he hasn't done anything for them to help with their problems!

Dazza, No where in my post did I give him advice, and he doesn't take advice he does what he wants and always has done,( not really a team member) I have found that unless you agree with what he saying, you are wrong, and he is right. From where I was sitting at the council meeting last Friday morning, he seemed to be having an argument with one of his Independent colleagues instead of consentrating on what was being discussed at the council meeting. -
HC have not got a five year house building plan, that came to light last year with another housing development, and they were fined. Also at the Core Strategy inquiry earlier this year it was found they still did not have one infact the Inspector said the evidence put before her by the council was "out of date" and ordered an immediate update of the papers. I was there when she gave the council 3 days in which to bring the information up to date and present it to her!

Like Roger I vote OUT, The EU are taking Britain for a ride, imposing fines on us, because we have found our voice instead of being lead by the nose which the EU have, and still trying to do.

Dazza, I am neither small minded, ignorant or a snob,if you knew me, which you obviously don't you would know that. There are professionals within the council who Chris Chappell could go to, having been a councillor for many years he should know that. yet I have been told only two weeks into the new council he is already being disruptive,I have known Chris for many years and I know what he is like. I am well aware of who you are having read in the press last year your attack on the hospital. You do not know anything about my election defeat, but you soon will as there are official complaints that has been made by constituents, and they have been accepted! -

Chris, I am surprised (or may be not) you have run down the Independent leader, not every body knows about 2together in fact I would say no one outside of Health & Social Care Scrutiny does unless they are a carer, you were a carer so obviously you do, and so do I having sat on Heath & Social Care Scrutiny for 12 years when I was a councillor. It is obvious from your post 25, you know nothing about the scrutiny committee you are on otherwise you would not be asking for advice from an unelected person, so how you think you can critisize someone else is wrong. No one knows everything on the council and you know we all consentrated on the committee's we were on, and rightly so. It is obvious you are not happy being an Independent councillor, so why don't you leave you were leaning towards IOC so why don't you ask them if you can join them? -
I have been looking into the history of South Wye because years ago there was a south wye free paper called South Wye News which for a time I was chairman of until 2003. I have got some information about the Powell's Farm in Newton Farm that also tell the history about the brook and sourounding fields, I am writing a book on this. It is on my website. Glenda

There has always been a problem with Abbeyfields in Belmont because it is the landfill site and the membrain was never thick enough, it is now come to the surface in places so special cutters will have to be used so as not to break the membrain, otherwise there would be bigger problems to contend with. Get in touch with the parish council clerk Liz Kelso and report the problem to her. You could also go to the next parish council meeting next month and bring it to their attention.

Greenknight, Nothing has changed with the council. appointments made were given to yes people. I am very concerned about health & social care because I think this budget will be cut again.Residents are still coming to me for my help although I have told them I am not a councillor now, only this evening there was a knock on my door, again I had to say I cant help you with your problem because Im not a councillor and they said in their eyes I am.What did you mean if I need help just say?

The Tories do not like IOC and from the appointments handed down it shows. IOC had got an alternative appointments list with their members taking prominant positions that was not allowed, and it got very heated for a while. The appointments were very much Tory favoured, but independents and Lib Dems were recognised with Deputy Chairman, vice chair planning and Lib dem chair of health & social care. It was very evident the Tories are in control once again.
-
