  1. Ubique, don't worry about Hinton Hitman comments, only 24 hours after the election results people in Newton Farm are already finding out that they voted the wrong person(their revelation not mine) in by what he said at the door and in his leaflet, that I am ill I just want to reassure people that I am fighting fit and healthy. he played a very dirty campaign all because He sent me to the standards board last year and lost the case against me his allegations were found to be both unfounded and lies. Before anyone thinks this is 'sour grapes' on my part let me assure you it is NOT, he has broken the electoral rules and a complaint has gone into the council. I just feel sorry for the people of Newton Farm . I will just sit back and watch and see everything fall apart. He has already told one constituent with a problem of flooding in their garden TO MAKE IT A WATER FEATURE!! because the constituent sent me the email as proof.
  2. I would like to say thank you to the people who have supported me over the past 12 years as councillor for Newton Farm until 7th May. Obviously I am disappointed that I am now unable to carry on the work that I started last year of continuing the road and pavement resurfacing that has been done in Waterfield road, Masefield Ave, Charlton Ave. and Kingfisher road I hope Belfour Beatty will now resurface the roads and pavements as requested by me in Ethelstan Crescent upper Waterfield road Treago Grove and Goodrich Grove as arranged for end May to August.
  3. Roger, what I am saying the voting papers were very confusing the amount of people when I knocked the doors were asking me what they should do and which papers was which, I spent a lot of time explaining the procedure to them, but of course I wasn't knocking doors in Saxon Gate so was unaware of the problem until yesterday and that in Saxon Gate they had filled them in wrong.
  4. Surprise! surprise! guess who came knocking on my door tonight, you guessed it Phil Edwards, I slammed the door in his face!
  5. if it helps posters to understand I will tell you how the papers should of read, General election just one vote for candidate local Herefordshire council one vote only Hereford city parish which is for South wye wards Redill, Newton Farm Hinton /Hunderton and Saxon Gate you could vote for two candidates, I understand in Saxon Gate the people put two votes for the Herefordshire council instead of the city parish which made them null &void.
  6. Jeanharris, you obviously do not know Phil Edwards as well as you think, he is the councillor that supports the road that is going through your garden
  7. For the local elections you will not get the results until 3pm Friday 8th.
  8. The city council parish elections are taking place on Friday 8th May at the Leisure Centre, after the local Herefordshire council elections on the same day. You still go to the Belmont Centre, by the medical centre to vote for all three elections, General, local and parish elections tomorrow between 7am-10pm.
  9. With the cuts in the social care budget, and I too last year supporting the 10% reduction in councillor allowance, I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING THE BACK PAYMENT.
  10. When I went to the Belmont Library this afternoon the sign had been removed!
  11. Roger, having read your post (158) Roger Goodwin is a excellent candidate for our Independent group, he is young, intelligent, works very hard for the young people in regard to sport, he has met with the local group and is eager to help the community of the college, and everyone knows him as he lives on the ward, what else could you want as a prospective candidate for where you live? Glenda
  12. I have asked for the Waterfield road sign to be moved further down but there is the public foot path leading to Carwardine Green running alongside of the new houses in Vortex Way, therefore this may not happen. Glenda
  13. I was interviewed when this problem came to light which resulted in the story in the HT on April 16th, I contacted HHL and Keepmoat about the confusion the lack of signage was causing, and within two weeks the signage was up, some people may find it confusing but personally I don't, and the signs were put on the houses for that reason and to stop them being vandalised, that said, the residents living in these houses don't like the signs on the walls of their homes. Going slightly off subject, but connected to the area concerned I asked for the potholes to be filled in on Goodrich Grove they were done within three days of my asking and the road will be resurfaced at end of May beginning of June.
  14. Just for clarification As one of the three Belmont councillors I do not agree to this road. Glenda
  15. Yes Mike I thought that as well. I notice they have their posters everywhere in Redhill, just wondering if they ask permission of the householders!
  16. You are not allowed to put signs up near polling stations, nor as one councillor did in 2007 turn up at the polling station on a bike with their name strapped to both wheels, the councillor was told to go away and take the bike with them. so they canvassed in Tesco car park instead from their car. another went to the polling station with photo of themselves in the rear window again they were told to remove the photo. In 2011 a candidate was asking people who they were voting for telling people he was a teller, but I recognised him he was the candidate for the opposition and he was told to leave the polling station in Hunderton. There are strict rules but people flaunt them.
  17. Adrian, what don't you understand about the Independents, we don't get into bed with anyone. The Tories last year asked the Independents to go into coalition with them to get them out of the mess they got us in. The answer was a definite NO! and by the way you have gone off subject of this post.
  18. Just to clarify councillor expenses we get just over £7,000 a year it is not given to a councillor to spend it as they wish it is for your councillor work, letters, postage, phone calls, computer equipment, and travel expenses to get to meetings. When you claim expenses you have to give receipts otherwise you cannot claim it.
  19. Dippy, If you like to tell me which area you live, and we have an Independent candidate for that ward I will make sure they knock your door. Glenda
  20. Gridknocker,, yes Herefordshire council had a discussion last year about the boundary changes, I suggested for one of the new wards in South Wye (Hunderton & Hinton) that the geographical area was to big, and it make more sense if Newton Farm & Hunderton ( part of the now Belmont ward) was put together as one ward the only thing separating them is the A465 road, the powers that be took no notice of what I said. Another thing I have found out is that areas in London fought back and refused to be changed and they got their way. Yet it was imposed on us here.
  21. Having had the honour of meeting Bobby last year, I found him to be a nice guy, and If you met him, you would remember him.
  22. Seb, welcome to HV, that said we all have our own opinions about matters regarding Herefordshire and how it is governed. There is an old saying if you cannot stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen. Just so that you know Jesse and I have worked together in 2007 to stop the post offices from closing in Herefordshire, taking a 10,000 signature petition to Downing Street. Since then we have respected our different political views and accepted them.
  23. I asked the election office why I was classed as unattached, as I went through all the nomination paperwork with them, they are looking into it!
  24. If re-elected I will still engage with HV, as I have done from the beginning.
