Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
It is in the INDEPENDENTS manifesto that was in the HT last week under the heading of local transport - integrated use of existing and new routes in and around the county to formulate a solution fit for the end of 21st century. using a mixture of an Eastern crossing, rail, which would include the GWW, park and ride, river transport improved bus services and cycling facilities.- 246 replies

Use Trams On Great Western Way
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Colin, you are right Albert Heinz offered to install and pay for a tram on the GWW back in 2007/8 but HCC refused his offer and he spent the money on the Castle Pool hotel instead. I was in favour of the tram system to cut down the traffic on the A465. Children could use it for going to school which I believe would be a novelty to them, and people could use it to go to town either for work or shopping, or in my own case going to council meetings, alas it never came to pass and in my opinion a great mistake.- 246 replies

Colin, like everyone else I think it is a good call. As was stated the complaint he referred to about me was not proven, he has now complained again about me talking to the county solicitor of the council which I have not spoken to the solicitor.

Why don't you ask Cllr Bridges about the lifts he works for network rail.

As I said last night the host favoured the IOC, that said our candidate did well also getting it across that the Independents are100% for the people in the area they represent, and of course we pay our own election expenses so our campaign is not paid for by the taxpayers of Herefordshire!!!

Again, they have missed off the piece in the HT that the Herefordshire Independents will be in attendance one, of our group is on the panel. I will be attending see you all there around 8.30pm. Glenda

Taxi's Refusing Short Trips on the Rank
Glenda Powell replied to Paul Neades's topic in Hereford City
I have reported these drivers again in the past week to the officers of regulatory committee, it seems rather coincidental that Mr Jones now states the " problem has been brought to his attention". I do know that two taxi drivers will be in front of the regulatory committee with in the next two weeks with a recommendation for their licences to be revoked! whether it is these drivers who are refusing "short distance fairs" I am not sure. -

Hereford Locality Weekly Briefing W/E March 13th
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
Colin, When I reported this to Shane he assured me the bushes would be cut right back to allow visibility coming round the corner. He never disappoint me in my requests. Glenda -
You have missed the Herefordshire INDEPENDENTS off your invitation list , the SECOND largest group on Herefordshire Council, unless you are just inviting Political groups. The only PARTIES who are putting up a candidate for MP in Hereford are the Conservative, Labour, Ukip, Lib Dems and Greens. I was sat on a "Question Time" panel last Thursday at the Kindle Centre very interesting, a good evening until someone decided to tell one of the candidates for MP they were talking rubbish! it could of got nasty but the chairman stopped it before it got to that.

Like we did in 2013 where they compared the Mayor to widow twanky, we all thought it amusing but he didn't.

Countdown to General Election 7th May 2015
Glenda Powell replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Megilleland, I was speaking to HH today they are replacing the children play area in Kilvert road for a more up to date play area. There is something else may be happening I will tell you when it is confirmed. -
Colin, I like the second one!

It was one tree that had fallen down by the elderly residents properties in Glastonbury Close, it was removed. And yes it has been done!
-
I have these reports from my locality steward every week the same as Chris. I have written to him today asking for him to go and look at a tree in Kingfisher Close. Last week I drew his attention to black bags and a mattress on GWW, it was removed in 2 days.
-
Thank Chris for the mention on your post, it was a good lunch and afternoon entertainment for our elderly and disabled residents in South Wye. I am very busy from Monday next week with council meetings, ward work and my position in London representing the Independents, all before council meeting next Friday. I cannot afford to lose any weight but probably will before the election over. As Chris said if anyone living in the Newton Farm area would like to help me deliver my leaflets, your help would be appreciated.

In regard to the Lib Dems petition that surprises me, simply because that was a motion put forward by the Herefordshire Independents a few months ago at full council and had substantial support for the abolition of the cabinet system and to go back to committee system. But because of the election cannot be put into place until after May 7th.

It would be interesting to know which candidate!
-
Dippy, I don't think my constituents would appreciate me moving to White Cross. I went to the local coffee morning today, my constituents were there I had 4 cups of tea that went cold sorting out their problems, I then went to the South Wye luncheon club for all our elderly residents, again constituents came up to me or spoke to me about problems while I was eating my lunch, no peace for the wicked!!

You will find the Lib Dems in High Town tomorrow and IOC on 7th. The Independents are meeting all of our candidates tomorrow and treating them to lunch.

Relaxation Of Hot Food License In Hereford...
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Alex, I am not trying to take the credit I have been speaking to and supporting Colin on this for some time. I brought the subject up before at the Regulatory meetings but while there was disturbance in and around the CIZ area the police was not in agreement to the condition being removed. Now it has been agreed that things have got better I again as I said in my previous post (31) brought the subject up again.- 71 replies
