Colin, The locality officer with BB said on his weekly report about the trees in Glastonbury Close. I again told him about the problems with the whole length of the Newton Brook between Newton Farm and Belmont together with the black bags and mattress on GWW. He has again advised me he had gone out at my request today.

Flam, I did not take it as a criticism so if I gave that impression sorry! I have often said on here you have to be on the inside to know what other groups are like, half of the time they say nothing but to the people they are trying to impress they tell a different story. Maybe I am a little too out spoken on occasions but that is me! going back to the topic I have to say I have got a lot of work done between May & December last year that I asked BB to do and I have been told there is more being done for me in April, and if it doesn't happen I will be asking why!. BB always say to me that I ask politely for work to be done and they are pleased to do it for me. I always treat everyone the way I like to be treated myself and that is with respect, and so far it has worked for me.

Flam, I just answered Megilleland post, the Independents work very hard for the areas we represent, and we are the main opposition group who questions every move the Tories make, it is unfortunate that I cannot say that for any other group on the council, they make the headlines but as the HT have said many times there is no substance to what they say afterwards. And yes I have gone off topic now sorry Colin!
-
Although going off subject, yes the Independents have monthly meetings and the agenda changes from month to month in accordance to what happening in council, finances, budget, BB, care act, core strategy, SC2, roads, rail to name but a few.

Ubique, It isn't that I don't care about anywhere else, but in my defence I have one of the biggest wards in the city, and as I said previously the other councillors should be looking after their own areas whether in the city or countryside, if they did try and keep on top of issues we would not be in the mess we are in.
-
Megilleland, with respect I have enough to do with the area (Newton Farm, Hunderton & Belmont) I represent, the other councillors are responsible for their areas, that said at the weekend one of my Independent colleagues were in the golden valley area all the roads and verges are in pristine condition maybe something to do with the fact that area is represented by the deputy leader of the council and a cabinet member?. There is a meeting next Tuesday for councillors with BB to discuss their public realm contract for 2015. I have my list of works to be carried out that I will be presenting to them at the meeting. Will post the results of the meeting later in the week.

Relaxation Of Hot Food License In Hereford...
Glenda Powell replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
At the Regulatory meeting last Thursday, as part of the agenda for discussion was the CIZ area and we were asked if we were happy that this area had improved as of late. As part of that conversation I asked if we could relax the condition for hot food to be sold after 1.30am. I was told by the chairman that there was a Chinese takeaway in Commercial Street now allowed to stay open till 2.30am, to which I replied then other hot food establishments should be able to do the same, the reply was ' tell them to apply for a licence' and it will be considered. So come on guys I have opened the door to discussion its up to you now to apply!!- 71 replies

I have heard back from Balfour Beatty on Friday, they are going up to clear both parts of the Newton Brook, I have also reported black bags and a mattress by the steps leading to GWW. I have been notified that trees in Glastonbury close have been cut back.
-
Colin & Chris, I have reported the Newton Brook areas from Newton Farm to Belmont this afternoon to BB.
-
Thanks Colin, So that's why the traffic was at a standstill out side my home for the past two hours, it just cleared ten minutes ago

Greenknight, Health watch is very good and will take up any concerns that patients have. I had problems last year and they took the matter up on my behalf,( this has got nothing to do with the fact I am a councillor) I am now having problems again with the same doctor. I told the doctor his bedside manner left a lot to be desired, he told me no one had complained before, my reply was some elderly people like myself are to afraid to complain but I am not. I got an apology out of him. This time its more serious, but I will stand up for my rights.
-
Ubigue, can you get me full details and I will look into it on their behalf, ask Colin for my phone number, Glenda

Considering all the talk about the Core Strategy I am disappointed that only 8 members of the public attended yesterday and today compared to Monday where it was packed. As they were talking about the city and the link road today I thought there would be more in attendance.

Herefordshire Council has created a new £90,000 a year role
Glenda Powell replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Flamboyant, that was said to me as well, my response is unrepeatable here. I don't think they going to like me being on this panel I ask to many awkward questions they could not answer. Out of the 5 councillors who sit on this panel 3 are Tory, one of which is a cabinet member. -
Herefordshire Council has created a new £90,000 a year role

WirralPC, I attended my first employment panel meeting on 14th January, where the 2 salaries were discussed at the meeting, I said that we could not vote on the salaries, as it needed to go to full council to be ratified as I felt the panel 5 Councillors should not be asked to vote on such a large salary. See my comments on the link above. -

This story been on my website for 3 days,(click onto my name on links here) I am a member of the employment panel, see my comments there, because I did not agree to this! -
I went at 3pm and stayed to 5.30pm, I told the consultants that I could no longer support the scheme without a river crossing at Belmont and an Eastern route from Rotherwas, without these it would just be another road to nowhere between A465 and A49. This won't get rid of the traffic build up on Belmont road. For those of you supporting this there was two councillors while I was there who was singing its praises much to the annoyance of some people living in Belmont, one of which called one of the councillor a P..T. I ask the consultants how many people had attending between 12 noon and 3pm when I arrived because it was empty when I got there they told me around 60 people.

Yes I will be attending around 2-2.30pm and stop for a couple of hours because if it is Thursday as I was told I also have another meeting in the late afternoon in regards to all candidates for the local elections, then I am off to the Courtyard to the Frankie Valli show.

There is some confusion, as the Belmont ward Cllrs were told that this 6 hours meeting is on Thursday 29th NOT Friday 30th, I have left voicemails to both the officer and Bill to check which is the correct day, and to contact each other. I will ring the officer again in the morning for clarification, of which day it actually is.

Colin, this topic was originally about Sherborne Close, then it was taken off topic by other posters, that is why I suggested giving it another title or better still as you had suggested to lock this one as the starting posts has disappeared. As Megilleland is the person who brought this to the attention of HV maybe it would be good to see a photo of before and after improvement about Sherborne close from him?
-
As Herefordshire Housing has cleared the area of Sherborne Close a great deal since it was reported on HV may I suggest instead of showing the photo's of rubbish some going back years, to actually show the improvement that has taken place, with maybe the title Improvement in Sherborne Close, Glenda

I got in touch with Belfour Beatty locality manager on Thursday about the mattress and bedding on GWW asking for it to be moved, pleased to see it has gone, also asking for a complete clear up, will check over the next couple of days to see if it has been cleared.
