  1. HOT OFF THE PRESS: There is to be a by-election called in Ross-on-Wye early in December another Conservative is going do not know who it is at the moment when I hear I will post here! Possible councillors are: Andrew Atkinson, Phil Cutter,Jenny Hyde,Harry Bramer,John Jarvis or the new councillor elected last year.
  2. Jim, No I am not at Brockington tomorrow.
  3. megilleland, if you look in the HT this week selling off assets looking through the list you will see green spaces have been sold including a vegetable patch for £1,000. and one in Kinnersley close. therefore there will not be any grass to cut if this keeps happening it will belong to someone else, and then what will the buyers do with it!
  4. Jim, to put the record straight the Independents did not put a candidate up for Tupsley election, giving you and the others a chance, therefore we have not split the votes, maybe IOC will do the same in Pontrilas and not split the votes? we have got a very good and hard working candidate for Pontrilas and she came in second to Hamilton last time.
  5. Bobby,I speak my mind if a few more people done that we all be better off, you do not know me otherwise you would not of made that comment. I am aware of IOC have spoken with the Independents, and for the record we have a very good candidate for Pontrilas, and she is going forward as a candidate, and I will be giving her all the support she wants, she is a very nice person and works hard, just the type of councillor we need.
  6. welcome El Lukio, I was sent J Kay leaflet last week for me to see, I thought he had changed sides to the greens as it is their colours he using. I am interested to see IOC and Lib Dems leaflet if anyone has them. In regard to the Pontrilas election their are 4 candidates one of each Conservative, Independent, Lib Dem and IOC, unfortunately I was told the IOC candidate is asking all the others to stand down and let him take the seat, as they came last in 2011 I do not think he has a chance this time either.
  7. I recollect only to well that in 2002 all housing and the land they stood on was transferred to Herefordshire Housing, in stock transfer I was vice chair of the group at the time. The Belmont Country park when handed over from Persimmon will belong to the council. What would you call it then when in your words land have been given over to house building when it is green open space. The St Francis church and land was not given away it cost Herefordshire Housing many £000's to buy it. I do not understand what you are getting at in regard to the councillors who Mr Hamilton was referring to I know who he liked and didn't like so maybe you would like to explain what you are saying. In regard to bullying there are many who think if you do not agree with their way of thinking they can try to bully you into submission, unfortunately that tatic has been tried on me and it failed miserably. You know the financial state this council is in, common sense which seems to be lacking in some quarters would tell you that when a piece of land has a monitory value you don't give it away. Since you have joined this website you have tried several times to put me down it hasn't worked, and it never will so you are wasting your time trying!
  8. You have been given an extensive list above of land that has been given away by Herefordshire Council, in the last two and half years Mr Hamilton was responsible for GIVING LAND AWAY for housing the last being the green open space known as the Vortex site in Newton Farm, there was a monitory value on that piece of land of between £25,000 to £30,000.
  9. Although this part of the GWW is out of my ward I will pass the state of the drains on to Balfour Beatty, I have the same outside my home, I have had the drains and gullies cleared at least six times but every time it rains the flooding happens again!
  10. Russell Hamilton GAVE AWAY valuable land with his portfolio as housing, environment and planning cabinet member. The green open space he gave away for housing in Newton Farm was valued at beteen £25,000 to £30,000. The diocese on the other had wasn't so stupid as to give the St Francis Church site away.
  11. How his resignation letter to the HT is written I think mostly at the Conservatives he had a very big row with two of them last week, he then attended the meeting I was at and his attacked was against an IOC member which caused me to say "his coments were out of order" that said at the same meeting Cllr Graham Powell had a go at two Independents I was one of them this was because all three of us spoke about the lack of bungalows being built for our elder population. I do know he particularly did not like IOC members, but any member that did not agree with what he was saying was fair game to be attacked. I also believe Cllr Graham Powell had a go at the Independents because he did not like the letter that was in the HT a couple of weeks ago from us! and they probably won't like what I have sent to the HT for this week.
  12. Russell Hamilton really lost the plot last week at a meeting, really having a go at another councillor I told the chairman (Cllr Graham Powell) that Russell Hamilton was out of order by his conduct he did nothing about it!
  13. Aylestone Voice. it is the administrator of this site who decides who to exclude or not certainly not you! I have only two comments to send to you and they are: If the cap fits wear it! as the old saying goes ' two heads are better than one'
  14. Update to my post above, Police confirmed its in connection with the missing man, after clothes belonging to missing man was found
  15. According to the HT webpage today , divers and boats were diving at the steps of the boat house by the old bridge looking for a missing man.
  16. So what if it does, we have all had enough of the administration, unless of course you support them?
  17. I totally support my Independent colleagues on this, the cabinet and this administration has got to go. I also fully support the tax paying public in their views, as someone who is having to listen to the excuses for their actions they are saying on a daily basis, with no thought for the people they were elected to serve, their excuses are wearing decidely thin!!!
  18. Taken from HT. As the ward councillor who is a member of the Oval Housing Management sub group for this development, I will be looking at the decant of tenants of the flats, and the re-housing of the tenants. some tenants have already moved from Beattie House flats, with just three remaining tenants to be moved, to enable this block of flats to be demolished. As soon as there is any further news I can tell you I will. be assured I will continue to assist tenants with their move so to make the process as less stressful as possible for them. I have fully supported the regeneration of the Oval area from its concept, and will continue to do so to enable my residents to live in new, warm accommodation, and for the first time for many have a garden for their children to play safely in.
  19. The incinerator proposed as the future for the county's waste, with people claiming the PFI funded plan (look what happened to the hospital that was PFI funded) with costs well into nine figures - is now thought to be wasteful itself and can no longer be sustained by Herefordshire council. At the Overview and scrutiny committee on September 3rd the committee heard some compelling evidence that the proposed incinerator at Hartlebury was now out of date, expensive and inefficent. At a meeting this month we heard from Dr David Slater ( a former director of the environment agency and head of polution control) who presented the opportunity for Herefordshire to make use of a state of the art and proven pyrolysis based treatment plant to be based at Rotherwas. This plant would not only deal with all our biomass streams, but would produce 13mw electricity and provide a district heating system for the complete Rotherwas Industrial Estate. This would be at no capital cost for the county, and would only cost the equivalent of landfil for the actual processing of the biomass. This plant could be up and running within two years. Herefordshire Independent councillors were given a full presentation of the system and process, we were all impressed! Let us hope the Conservative administration will take careful notice, millions of pounds could be saved, and we would be masters of our own fate - for a change!
  20. I was also in agreement to take a 10% cut in our allowances, some might say that it is easy to say this when I wasn't at the meeting that is why I wrote a piece in the HT supporting them. That said I would expect all the top managers, cabinet members and officers to take a cut in their salaries at the same time and what money was saved should go into frontline services such as children and adult social care.
  21. Where have I got things incorrect Chris, I said you left the Labour party after 20+ years and joined the Independents, and we are all hoping to get re-elected in 2015 whichever party/group we belong to! Nobody works harder than I do for the elderly, disabled and disadvantaged.
  22. Welcome both, nice to have another couple of councillor to help answer the questions, Glenda
  23. No I just think he hoping to secure being re-elected in 2015. Quite a few councillors do that not only in Hereford but elsewhere
  24. Councillor Edwards have taken credit for their instalation, so any new information is left to him to put in there.
  25. He was the only Labour councillor on the council
