  1. Bobby, I have sent you a PM message.... Glenda
  2. HRH the Earl of Wessex will be visiting South Wye tomorrow morning Friday 12th July 2013. He will be visiting the Hereford Academy, Oval Information Centre, where he will be meeting ward councillors for Belmont, Hinton Centre and Kindle where he will be having lunch with South Wye pensioners before going on to Rotherwas before returning to London. he will arrive at the Oval at midday.
  3. Back in 2004 just after I became a councillor there was a planning application for an incinorator to be based at Madley at half the cost. Unfortunately there was an action group set up by people living in Belmont and stopped it happening.
  4. Did anyone else witness traffic chaos Sunday morning, traffic was backing up on new bridge because confusion about new route road for Asda, after all the money spent they did not put up any signs as to which lane to go in for Asda or Belmont Road, everyone stuck in the middle, three lines of traffic all going one way. It block Belmont road and Ross road as well!
  5. Victor, Herefordshire Housing land begins at the Skate Park fields at top of the GWW.
  6. Colin, it starts oposite the academy and the skate park all the way through to Sainsbury Bridge.
  7. GWW work I requested as per inspector instructions from our site visit: Having spoken with the officer in regard to the s106 money I have been advised that the developer has not released the money (£17,000) but this will not cover the money for camera's running cost, I was advised this money will be for CCTV on the GWW.I have told her to go to the police commissioner and asked him for the rest of the funding needed . I have been invited back to see the work that has been carried out to my satisfaction on either Monday or Tuesday the following week.
  8. The site inspection went as planned,Officers and I walked the whole length of the GWW from Newton Farm to Sainsbury's exact details of work to be carried out per my request will be finalised this week, I will post again at weekend with further details, the work will commence on 15th July as there are electric cabling work being carried out at the moment.
  9. Wendy, I agree the cabinet system doesn't work that is why you see me writing to the press about all the money that is being wasted! I do not think my council colleagues would appreciate you having me cloned, a few would prefer it if I wasn't a councillor!
  10. I have today received the date of the GWW inspection that I requested for trees, undergrowth to be cut right back and new lighting, I am meeting with two officers on Tuesday 2nd July on the GWW.
  11. Wendy, I would not dream of trying to sell you on the public transport arguement, as I do not drive my only way of getting around is buses (when they arrive) or expensive taxis £20 return fare from Belmont to city more if we get stuck in traffic. What car parking facilities we have in my opinion are to expensive no wonder people are parking in residential streets!
  12. Wendy, Merton Meadow car park was always in the bigger plan for the redevelopment, the housing is part of the 'urban village' plan what I am surprised at is the car park is known to always flood in bad weather. Who want to live in an area with the threat of their home flooding! can I add my warm welcome to you on this site, your posts so far have been very factual.
  13. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone here for your support, and kind comments made it is very much appreciated.
  14. I received an answer from Amey to my request for the trees and bushes to be cut right back. A grounds supervisor will meet on site with a sub contractor and myself by the end of the month to discuss works needed to be carried out. The grounds supervisor is confident on what works need doing, budget allowing.
  15. Does he fit wood flooring?
  16. Looking at the picture where the uncut grass is near the tree,it looks as if HHL are distinguishing their land from the council land which is cut by Amey. I have spoken to Rachel Davies this morning requesting all bushes, grass be cut, together with canopy of trees to open the area up right along GWW, also asking for more lighting. I am waiting for her to get back to me. I did say that people are afraid to walk there since the boy got attacked, again reminding her that this area is used by children going to Riverside School.
  17. I have within the last half hour received an email from Paula Kennedy. She confirms that she did quote a sum of £340,000 for ALL garages belonging to HHL to have worked done to them, and that the garages backing onto the GWW were a priority. She also advised me that this garage area has been demolished of ALL garages and the area cleared.I will check this out today.
  18. Due to the recent incidents along here, I have contacted Herefordshire Housing Paula Kennedy (not Paul), Herefordshire Council and Amey, they will all received my correspondence tomorrow, I will wait towards the end of week (due to my being on Holiday) If not heard by then will phone them on Friday.
  19. At 8.25am this morning I again reported the state of the brook to Amey officer reminding them that I first reported this on 5th May asking why it has not been done, she said she raise a work ticket for it to be done. I advised her that I would be going on a site visit Thursday morning about trees in Waterfield Rd and would be checking if the work had been done
  20. I came passed the brook in Yarlington Mill on Friday lunchtime there were workmen doing electorial cabling works, when I arrived by the brook there were cones and a piece of their fence thrown in the brook, I went to fetch them to move it, all they said was " I didnot know it was there" they were working less than 6 ft away from where it was!
  21. At my request Amey officers went to Haywood Lane again this moring to look for missing duck sign. It was found that the post was not damaged, but the sign was not found, it is thought someone probably removed the sign as a souvenir because of its novelty factor. I have now asked for a replacement and have been given a works number 168813, I will check in the next few days of the progress of a replacement sign.
  22. Chris, thank you for bringing this to my attention, Amey is responsible for this work I contacted them at 1pm today asking for the clearence of the whole length of the brook. I have just heard back from Amey to tell me that the tree cutting has not finished yet, but an operative will go to the brook this afternoon.
  23. Yes I spoke with Ruth Kinsella this morning, she said she would speak to the people concerned now, and my reply to colin is what they said.
  24. The land belongs to HHL nothing to do with the council, but yes the electricity company will have to become involved.
