Anyone else experiencing noise from Tescos Belmont store?
Glenda Powell replied to cv5's topic in Tesco
Hi, The noise is coming from the Dot Com system and the running of engines were from the delivery bay. Apparently the noise is heard in Romsey drive the mostly. The enforcement team manager has spoken to the Tesco manager and ask for it to be dealt with. Let me know if it continues -
The timescale given (3 years) had ran out but it has been renewed again they have three years to build the takeaway.
-
I have just spoken to Amey asking for it to be removed TODAY! The sign was erected and paid for by the City Council at my request, therefore I feel responsible for this sign as I ask for it!

As your local councillor I will contact Tesco direct also the planning office. I have had to deal with a lot of complaints over the past few years with Tesco, and they were resolved! -
At the consultation day 22nd Oct at Three Counties Hotel it was announced that HHL is still negotiating with the head of the church ( St Martins) to buy the St Francis church, it will be pulled down to build 11 houses on the site, the hub is now being built at the Oval.

Further to my post above, I have found it necessary to advise Herefordshire Housing and the site manager not only about this site, but also their workforce. I have received a further complaint on Thursday whilst on an inspection walkabout of workmen going onto private property. It is my understanding although not confirm as yet by Herefordshire Housing that the cabins will be on Vortex site until February 2013. Where by HH will have put in a planning application to build housing on the site as they hope the council will transfer the land to them.

The cabinet member Cllr Graham Powell (no relation) has said that in answer to my question at Council on 28th Sept ' he has contacted the highways agency to turn off the lights as I ask, but todate has had no reply. Also Colin he is going to write to you direct in answer to your piece in this weeks HT.

get in touch with the local councillors for that ward, although I believe Colin did approach one of them a few months ago.

I have asked for a meeting with Alison Hext who everyone has to send their objections to, many people are objecting to the Vortex site being used for Housing as part of the re-development of the Oval. A meeting was called by residents two weeks ago and letters of objection and a petition has been signed by many people on Newton Farm and sent to Alison Hext, there should be a story in this weeks Journal and Hereford Times. Anyone wishing to support these residents should send an objection letter to : Alison Hext valuation and Estates manager, Herefordshire Council PO box 4 Hereford HR4 0XH. or take it direct to her in Plough Lane council offices by 7th NOVEMBER 2012.!
-
I am disappointed that more people have not sign the petition, as you have seen before on another post I also put the question to council on 28th Sept for a 3 month trial, and ask for the highway agency to turn them off. Come on the people who use this road on a daily basis! if you don't sign the petition nothing will happen!!!

NO, this is what Central Government in London has agreed to pay to Herefordshire Council, for their road improvements schemes. What Roger has quoted is six consultations with the public, if you click onto the link he has supplied it will take you to the consultation I have mentioned. it seems coinsidential that after I put the question to full council on 28th Sept to turn the lights off at Asda in support of the many people who had ask me to put the question at council that this funding has now been announced, although the junction will be changed it will still be controlled by light signals. But this will not happen until next year,so there is still time for the Highways Agency to turn the lights off for three months as a trial as I asked, also Colin has ask the same. I have also ask people on my website to sign the petition.

QUOTE: Central Government announcement at their conference in Birmingham on 8th Oct 2012. Central Government has announce funding for Herefordshire Council road improvements schemes at Belmont Road and Edgar Street which are: A49 / A465 Belmont road junction to reduce delays on the A49 northbound approaches to the Belmont road junction, the junction will be realigned to create a separate approach to accomodate A49 southbound movements into Asda's store, and u-turn movements from St. Marins street toward A49 northbound from the right turn movement into A465 Belmont road. It will be traffic signal controlled and co-ordinates with the Belmont road right turn. Scheme start 2013 completed 2013. A49 / A438 Edgar street. The A49 southbound approach into Edgar street roundabout is a major cause for delay on the A49 route. To increase capacity this approach will be widened to create a third lane. In order to create the space for the new lane the pedestrian crossing will be slightly relocated. Scheme start 2014 to be completed 2014. END

If you look at my reply to 'dead posts society' post you will see that posts on GWW has been removed.Along with other work that has been done. I have this afternoon also been given case work numbers for all my requests pertaining to work to be carried out in Hunderton. The first lot of work is to commence on 5th Oct (next Friday) if not, I will want to know why. I have a meeting with Amey at their offices early in Oct to go over what work has been carried out, and what is outstanding. I have also requested a ward walkabout with an Amey inspector again early in Oct, this has been arranged.

I invited Amey inspector Neill Davies to come with me on my ward walkabout which he did last week, I have given him an extensive list of things to be done, and some have been done including some of the posts have been taken away as a start, I am going up onto the GWW in the next hour to check up there.

The site belongs to Herefordshire Council, and I have informed them what is happening, I am keeping a watchful eye on the site. I have ask for better management of the site and the things I have requested no cars / vans to be parked on the road, they are now parking in the churches car park area. Some of the porta cabins are disappearing this coming week,Herefordshire council is waiting for my conformation that the cabins have gone they will then come and inspect the site and any damage to the grass etc Herefordshire Housing has got to make the area good as they are hiring the land off the council. As the local councillor living in Newton Farm I am in constant contact with the site manager and asking him to improve the area.

I have asked for these lights to be turned off perminantly following Colin's suggestion! I also put it in my press story to the Journal as part of my story about Rockfield closing to make way for the 'road to no where' relief road. For a while at this weekend I thought Herefordshire Council had listened, then I found out there was something wrong with the lights.

I have heard back from Amey this morning in their opinion the posts are not hazardous! and have been put in a program of work to be carried out JANUARY 2013, I have told them I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS TIMESCALE!!!! I also pointed out ALL works I have asked for to the Inspector from Amey that came out on a site visit / walk around of all of Newton Farm / GWW this morning.
-
All these post have been reported by me again last Thursday. I have sent six seperate emails about everything that has not been done over past 6 months. I am afraid I lost my temper today with one of Amey managers, I know have a site meeting on Newton Farm with him at 9.45am tomorrow.
-
One of the emails are for the dead posts removal, as they said before they were not sure where they are located, I have given them lamp standard numbers near to where some of these post are, or street names. I have ask for an inspector to come out with me and I will show them where they are, I have also got names of Amey staff who has supposed to carried out the work. I think it is time for me to kick somes a.. maybe they will wake up when they feel the pain!!
-
As I have stated in another post, I have this week sent six emails for trees, bushes, rubbish, glass to be done across Newton Farm and GWW, also another for road works, I have told Amey and the council highways manager some of this work is outstanding from 2010/11. I do not want excuses just the work to be done!!!
