Glenysp Two parish councillors have come onto this site one has now gone away the other has not made any comments so far. I do know that Cllr Edwards have been on the site because of the comments he has made, also when I ask him at the begining of the year to join his answer was 'I might consider it when the site is becomes more established'. With the counter now standing at 68,961 at 19:47pm today I am wondering how many more people visiting this site does it take to be 'established' before he will join!

We were told on Friday night about the clearing of the pools at the meeting and the date given was 16th Oct not the 9th so someone has got it wrong or they have changed the date since Friday. The clear up is in conjunction with the council. The reason why the meeting was not advertised here was simply because there were a lot of posters put on notice boards (including mine) also the fishermen club members delivered flyers door to door.
-
It makes a nice change that you are complaining. It a pity you did not come to the pools meeting last Friday you would of heard the up to date news but I will be posting the minutes on BV when I receive them. Just one thing it is not this weekend that the tyres etc are being removed.

I have been ask for an update of the Oval redevelopment, there is a meeting of the steering group next Tuesday 6th Oct where we will be discussing the next steps moving this project forward, and a newsletter will be delivered. After the meeting I will give you all the update.
-
Just to advise you, ALL Belmont Parish councillors detail and phone numbers are under 'your councillors' on the old Belmont Rural website, or on the parish noticeboards so you can contact them yourselves. The best way is to go to the Parish Council meetings 7:15pm on a Thursday evening at the Northolme Centre, Belmont. The next meeting is on 21st October.

When I was advised (see my other post concerning A465) this afternoon that I would be kept up to date as the work progress I reminded Amey I had ask them for a yellow box at the junction od Abbotsmead Road leading onto the roundabout to be added to the program of works.
-
The update i received in June is now four months out of date, there has been a further meeting that I could not attend as I was undergoing eye surgery to restore my sight which was a success. The next steering group meeting is on 6th Oct where I will request a full uodate of the Oval development to date, I will then send it to Admin or post it here myself.
-
Yes he did, I have been advised the discussion is still ongoing, but he has said that he will send me an update within 10 days. He knows that if I do not hear within that timescale I have told him I will be making an official complaint to Amey.
-
I have spoken to Andrew Lee-Jones this afternoon in regard to the road works that should of commenced in June also my request for a yellow box, he has promised me he will make some enquiries and get back to me tomorrow. I advised him that I have been waiting for six months for an answer if one is still not received by Monday I will be making a complain to the management of Amey. Watch this space!
-
:Angry_32: Colin, I have spoken with Amey about the work that should of comenced in June also mentioning my request for the yellow box, Andrew Lee Jones, the officer dealing with this work is on holiday until 13th Sept I have left a message that I want an update on this work and when it will be carried out.

:Smile Face_32: I have received today further information about Belmont Pools from James Bisset, Pricipal Officer Parks and Countryside:- Dear Cllr Powell, Amey will be starting work on clearing out the 'cut'and replacing the spillway from this coming Monday ( suject to torrential rain over the weekend). Access will be across Persimmon's field from Haywood Lane. We have already cut a track through the grass across the field for them and Persimmon's site manager is fully aware of what is happening. Our team will be keeping a careful watching brief on their progress. Although no evidence of White-clawed Crayfish has been found in the lower pool or subsequent stream we have briefed Amey and they will be keeping a careful lookout as the debis in the 'cut' is removed. Likewise for birds nests in the trees and shrubs they may need to cut in order to gain access. If wildlife is found appropriate steps are in place to handle the situation. Whilst this work is taking place security fencing etc will be in place so access to and across the existing spillway area will be restricted. If you have any concerns about the work do not hesitate to contact me, or if you see vandalism of any equipment etc please call the police in the usual way. James Bisset Principal Countryside Officer.
-
Yes! it will not be brushed under the carpet, it is my understanding this is a legal matter now hence it is in Persimmon hands.
-
Merryhill cottage has it own soak way, the tank has been emptied, the liquid from pipe is being tested every week, I have been advised Persimmon is persuing the matter with the owners of the other properties so it is in their hands now

I received this email back today;
-
Frank - if you look at the post about public meeting 15th July, it should answer all your questions
-
Frank and Victor - I have made contact with Amanda Evans (01432 383230) from the South Wye Regeneration Board about your questions, she apologised that you were not aware of the open air meeting at the pools last Friday, she has said if you both would like to ring her on the above number she will discuss these matters with you. The number is her office which is open 9am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday. Glenda

There is no favourtism to the fishermen they are working with Herefordshire council There were around 30 people who attended the meeting, local residents, Belmont ward councillors, parish councillors, South Wye Regeneration Board, police officers and parks and countryside staff from Herefordshire Council, also I represented the Hereford city council as a city councillor. The pools are in the city boundary and will eventually become part of the Haywood Country Park. The main partnership who purchased and put the bulk of the monies into the pools are Herefordshire council, Hereford City parish council and the South Wye regenerationpartnership, Belmont Parish council put in funding of £7.500 and will have a say in what happens.

A open air community meeting took place in Westholme Road last week A group of local fishermen are setting up a community angling club in order to work in partnership with Herefordshire council on the future management of fishing at the big pool. A number of issues were raised and one of the outcomes was that a number of places on the angling club committee will be for local residents, and also a number of day tickets for fishing will be available.

:Thumbs-Up: After contacting the air and water polution office and the environment agency yesterday I have heard from the environment agency officer today he has advised me he is visiting the pools on Thursday to ivestigate my complaint. i have also spoken today with the team leader of the community protection team in regard to the fly tipping at the pools, he is also visiting the site with the view of getting this removed as soon as possible.

Alan Beasley leader of the fishermen group has ask Cllr Mark Schoffer to be the liasion representative between the fishermen and residents he has accepted. :Thumbs-Up: I received an email from Rob Hemblade this afternoon I quote:- I had a chat with the fishermen on Friday and they are really keen to improve matters on the pools, and equally keen to engage local residents. This is a very good example of their commitment. We Had an email back from Persimmon this morning and they are going to empty the septic tank which should deal with the outfall. and they are dealing with the longer term issue though they did not go into any further details I presume for legal reasons. End of quote. I have also suggested to a officer from the environment dept of the possibility of putting spreaders or a soakeway into the field to enable the sewage to drain away there and not into the pools.
-
This area as I advised you belongs to Herefordshire Housing, they could not give me an answer when I asked when they will do something about it. I believe that is also when they joined BV at my invitation so they could see the pictures and coments for themselves.
-
Having advised Mark Schoffer that both his and my coments are thought to be racist He said, and I quote the following from him:- Rubbish! his remark is not racist as he is from a eastern european country, and the government in power refer to EU counties as 'our eastern european friends' also in their country they have a licence to fish and eat their catch. If you wish to verify this you will find his address and phone number on the BR website under 'your councillors'.

The notice board at the oval can not be repaired it has to be replaced, there is a notice for BV in the window of the Information Centre I read it last night.
-
I was still a PC when the notice board was discussed for Dorchester Way,that was for the wooden notice board not the metal one, I also attended the site visit because residents complained they could see the notice board from their garden, my proposal was unanimously agreed with, and as I suggested the board was moved forward and closer to the folliage so that it could not be seen from the residents garden. The cost was for the inital erection of the notice board, also for the relocating. It may seem expensive but the wooden board is the same as all other boards in Belmont Parish, and felt more in keepong with the area.
-
You are correct in regard to cost of the notice board in Belmont, I do not know what the end result was as I am no longer a parish councillor, and no longer receive the parish council paperwork. In regard to the notice board at the Oval it belongs to the Information Centre, it has been like that since they took over from my group in the year 2000.I and others have pointed out the condition of it to them, they said it is broken that is why no new information is inside. It was originally erected in 1999 when the South Wye Regeneration Board (SRB) monies was allocated to the five estates in South Wye. The other four notice boards are still in good condition and being used they are the resonsibility of the Putson, Hinton,Redhill and Hunderton residents associations. As the Newton Farm Community Association exists in name only and appears on the top of the Information centre sign it is their responsibility to keep it in good condition. As your new parish councillor is a paid worker at the Information Centre she would be the ideal person to approach.
