Advice: Parking and penalty notices on private land
Alex replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
First of all you cannot clamp a vehicle anymore. If the land owner had any sense, why not just charge a small nominal fee for evenings and weekends. If you could park for 30mins for 50p or 2 hours for £2 I don't think people would mind paying that. In most cases the landlord is not loosing out because during office hours the people who have paid for their permits are using the spaces. My gf has a permit here and she has never had a problem parking here during office hours and neither have any of her colleagues. This is more about these scammers exploiting people and attempting to charge extortionate prices for parking in the evenings or like in Colin's case a Sunday night, when his was the only vehicle other than a van parked in the car park along the side of the Black Lion pub. If the landlord is really bothered then just put up a gate. -
It is such a nice looking building and it looks great all lit up at Christmas, I for one am looking forward to seeing this venue busy once again, I hope they are going to offer Sunday carvery

How humiliating for Hereford United, they can't even secure a game with Bartestree. Read all about it

I noticed this morning that you can now at last pay for the expensive parking using a credit/debt card. -

The traffic coming into Hereford especially from the south is an utter nightmare, I am in favour of a light out trial, the traffic moves at a much better pace when they are out of order. We need another river crossing there will always be someone unhappy but all this stalling nothing will ever be achieved otherwise.

Safety concerns? Why now all of a sudden a little convenient that don't you think?

Well done to Cllr. Kenyon and all of his hard work. Touching on this Radar Key business, not entirely sure I agree with Roger's post, however, what does annoy me is WHY is it FREE for Disabled people? Do they need to use the toilet more than me then?

Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am
Alex replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Sorry I do not agree at all. You have selected the larger cities here as your examples, Cardiff, Birmingham, Swansea and Worcester, nevertheless, you will always have a certain amount of trouble, this is usually fuelled by booze NOT FOOD! So if it's okay in these cities then why not in Hereford? There are a lot less people here. In general the police are called out more often at the weekends but this can also be to residential area's too, people are not working, so they do argue more etc etc. Tesco's in open 24 hours, a friend of mine works in Tesco in the city centre and there is hardly any trouble during the early hours including the weekend. I can go and buy a hot Ginsters from the 24 hour garage, that's okay too, but apparently I cannot sit down in an Indian restaurant at 2am? I cannot grab a Chinese take away on my way home from the nightclub either.. it's ridiculous, we live in a democracy, I should be able to choose if I want to eat at 2am not be told that I cannot! I am not at all surprised that a lot of people avoid Hereford at the weekends, the council should be encouraging local people to stay local and spend their money locally and promote local eating houses who rely on this weekend trade.- 291 replies

Which flats in particular do you know? I had a look when I was out an hour ago but could not see which was damaged.

When our wheelie bin was full and we had excess waste, we just put it out in a separate bag and spoke with them on the day and they took it all.

I agree with you Roger. If Debenhams were offering a discount for the first month fair enough but when your paying full price you expect full service to go with it. I was reading thru the various posts about the OLM and the fact that there are no cash machines, I had the same issue, where are the cash machines, are there any on this new site? Very strange that.

I notice that they have closed Next too of the Spur Retail Park, I thought they were keeping that store open. Don't understand this really because the new store is a lot smaller in comparison. Next must have money to throw away! They only completely refurbished and kitted out this store last year, unbelievable.

Old Market Car Park Prices Announced
Alex replied to Alex's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
I think you need to do a bit more homework, the council do receive a proportion of revenue from some of the parking at the Old Market. I was informed of this today, unofficially. -
Bobby, I was referring to the so called parking tickets I know a lot about speculative invoices even moneysupermarket give sound advice so please read their article HERE which has also been linked too above. You may also want to have a little read about Private Eye Here or Here or there is another company called Parking Eye Here same bollocks though! My advice would be NOT to pay anything at least until you have read all the links I have provided then make up your own minds. 3 times over the past 5 years I have had invoices slapped on to my car and each time I have totally ignored them. But I would pay for the beers lol On a separate note, I never did understand how DVLA offer your private information out to anyone who sets up this type of company, data protection is non existent here then. Ditto

I saw some make shift chip board signs on the roundabout over the past few days promoting some open day? Anyone go or know much about this event?

Yes, I spoke with a friend of mine who said he could not pay to park in the new centre with his card and was advised by security to go across he road to the nearest cashpoint. So are there no ATM's in the new shopping centre then?
