Old Market Hereford Shops Close Early
Bill Thomas replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
I agree with you Mick 100% not the best of starts for the new £90M shopping centre. Does anyone know if there will be extended late night shopping over the festive period or is 8pm as good as it gets? 10pm late nights would be good, especially for those people working shifts and getting home later because of the darker nights and worse weather but I suspect that there will be no late night shopping, lets see.. -
Old Market Hereford Shops Close Early
Bill Thomas replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
Not the best comparison, B & Q have always had seasonal opening hours, so this is nothing new. The stay open until 9pm during the summer months. -
I love the headline Colin ha ha very good. Yes excellent news and a wonderful site with all the lights reflecting across the river, nice photo.

Prosecution time, they obviously never took the first warning seriously! Why do people think that they can just dump their waste wherever they like?

Advice: Parking and penalty notices on private land
Bill Thomas replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
I don't think using a double drive scenario is quite the same in fairness, the landlords clearly earn their revenue from the permits during office hours, so a small sensible fee for the evening and weekends I would be in favour of and get rid of the parking management company altogether, either that or put a gate up, the original hinges are still there so it would not take a lot to implement if they are that worried about people parking there out of office hours.Where has all the local generosity gone these days? Why not offer free parking and encourage people to use the local estate agents and shops that have permits here, the permits are not limited to just the surrounding offices. I notice that some supermarkets are now using these idiots too, Morrison's in Hereford is a joke! We called in there yesterday and did some shopping, we got to the check out and was asked if we had parked in the car park, which we had done, she then asked for my ticket to nullify, I told her that we had no ticket and was not aware that we had to get one and where do we get them? She told me to go out and put a pound coin in the machine then come back and she would give me the pound back? What the heck is all that about? Put me off shopping in Morrison's to be honest, what a rigmarole. -
Good luck with their application, it will be so much better once this place is back open.

Thank you Colin for sharing all of this information, this whole industry clearly needs cleaning up. Are the DVLA exempt from giving out our data protection then? -

They should of dug it up altogether and also applied a strong weed killer, like Colin has mentioned, this is just coming back, half a job Balfour Do the job right in the first place and you should not have to come back.

You guys really could do with popping in and expressing your thoughts and idea's today at some point, no good all moaning after, this is YOUR opportunity to speak up! The exhibition has been there all week and I appreciate that most of us work but it is open until 8pm tonight, so I would urge those of you that have not been to please visit.

I walked over in the afternoon for 20 minutes, place was empty no councillors at all when I was there. I think CVP had only just left in fairness to her but you would of thought there would of been other local councillors available. Nobody approached me, there were a few people talking among themselves, so I was left to just wonder around. I DO NOT like the tree idea either!! What's that all about? Are the people who come up with these idea's local? I suspect not

Thank you for the info, I will do my best to pop in and see what is being discussed.

So are you saying that there is no point in emailing you Cllr? I do however agree with Frank's comments to smartieno1, no need to be personally attacking other people who are equally trying to help others, particularly those people who have been elected. A simple phone call or private message would of done the same job. We all complain about the council and some of the stupid decisions made but a lot of your more recent posts come across as quite personal, I notice that you direct a lot directly at Cllr Powell, it has just turned a genuinely kind topic into one full of unpleasantness.

Bill Thomas replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Welcome to HV George. This is encouraging news, 'open to consider' sounds promising but are you sure that is the case? If a major national company was granted later opening hours then that would open the door to all, hopefully.- 291 replies
