  1. TO LET: Woodcroft Farm Fromes Hill Nr Bosbury Herefordshire HR8 1QJ Is this part of the farms and small holdings mass disposal? Nice to see the Council getting some income even if it is for only six months - just enough to buy some more tea and biscuits for their next monthly meetings.
  2. Tens of millions wasted on free schools that closed or never opened amid 'unprecedented' funding crisis At least £138.5 million spent on opening 62 free schools, university technical colleges (UTC) and studio schools that have either closed, partially closed, or failed to open at all, NUT analysis shows. Mathematics appears to be the weak spot with these schools as the sums just don't add up.
  3. It's not only our council wasting money it's a national disease. Councils wasting huge sums as households hit by tax rises. We are all shareholders in our councils by virtue of investing our money in them. It's a shame we get a poor return on our money. Another example of being missold a financial product.
  4. They will most probably have the same problem when they build the flats at Bath Street. Flat roofs are a false economy unless you live in the south of Spain and can enjoy the sunshine.
  5. I have seen a speed camera van parked on the verge outside the Three Counties Hotel on Belmont Road the last few weeks. Can't imagine it has caught anyone going over 14.09mph!
  6. Herefordshire Council Council on form here. What with the unforeseen overspend at what will be the council's new customer services hub (51 comments so far) reported in The Hereford Times. Blueschool House in Blueschool Street in Hereford is currently being renovated and will be the home of Herefordshire Council's customer services team and the Job Centre Plus. Cllr Harry Bramer told Herefordshire Council's cabinet meeting last week that there had been an overspend of £935,000. Once the additional costs have been confirmed, a report will be prepared for Cllr Bramer to determine, which will identify how the costs will be funded.
  7. Daily Mail - 12th April 2017 I cycle faster than that and we don't have as many cycle lanes as Cambridge.
  8. Hereford Times - 10th April 2017 If they are so callous and mercenary, I am surprised in order to bump up the value of the land, that they haven't given themselves planning permission to sell the lot for development. If they had followed their agent's advice the Council wouldn't be selling the farms.
  9. The boundary to Jewsons on the left hand side of the video is not very pretty for pedestrians, but could come in useful for graffiti artists. The University building is set well back much more pleasant. Where's the lamp posts. No lorries or parked cars on the footpath. Have a look at Goodrich Grove where Keepmoat also had a visualisation with no cars in the street. The reality is that residents have cars, maybe two or three and they don't like to walk from their car to their house - they like to park right outside. So this will mean double yellow lines and signage every where to brighten up the street scene. I like the motorist in the ahead lane turning right at 48secs and again at 1min 55secs. I assume the bin men will access all properties from the rear or will they have to put their bins on the footpath at the front of their property?
  10. Looking at Herefordshire Live. Nice to see Joe Brand supporting Hereford's bid for UK City of Culture. See video here.
  11. She flew back to the Philippines on Saturday to avoid being physically deported. Did Jesse Norman do anything to help this person in his constituency?
  12. Watch UK Column live daily at 1pm or on demand to get into the reality of Brexit. We are not cutting ourselves off from the EU administration, but behind the scenes, assisting in the creation of an EU military force and adopting their laws and not creating our own. The whole thing is a smoke screen to maintain the status quo. I am tired of the anti brexit rant of the BBC and in the national press. Now it is seeping into our local press and local government and adding weight to the establishment's desire to keep themselves in the manner accustomed ie calling all the shots and shafting the British public.
  13. Taken from written evidence submitted by Herefordshire Council [OSG 101] - This response represents the views of officers of the council. It looks as if officers are at odds with councillors here following the disregard of Fisher German report when coming to a reasoned decision. And it does not look very good that Fisher German is acting as agent handling the sales of the council's farms. Maybe a payoff for going along with council's decision to sell off majority of farms.
  14. Listening to BBC H&W radio this morning and this report highlights the desperate plight of Marinel Bristow who was being deported this morning. However things are not going smoothly and she still remains in the country waiting to be put on a later flight. All very traumatic and distressing. The handling of this by the Home Office and no intervention by our MPs shows the complete disregard for humanity and justice there is among these unscrupulous people. Also the Hereford Times has been quiet on this issue - more concerned that I use an adblocker on their website when I infrequently visit it. Report starts here at 2:18:30
  15. Infamous Islamic hate preacher Abu Izzadeen was falsely named tonight as the Westminster terror attacker, despite him still being in prison. Did the police have prior knowledge of an attack, but were in the wrong place? Why don't the UK government deport them? Then maybe we wouldn't have to spend so much money on this.
  16. I don't agree and won't be signing the petition. There is already an armed response team in Herefordshire. Policeman walking around High Town carrying pistols - can you imagine it. There is going to be an increased armed presence at all major UK railway stations, as there is at present, at all our major airports.
  17. Very good programme two wheels. All rate payers should listen to this half hour piece. Everything mentioned applies to our council, ie setting up local authority trading companies incurring huge losses, lack of transparency and accountability (ie HC farms and small holdings) and in a few years time all services funded from only the council tax and business rates. After 2020 there will be no government grant support paid to councils. UK Column ran an article that tells us where to find unusuable reserves held by councils as in the case of Powys County Council: Maybe this is the time to realise the funds for the public benefit, before the councils are wound up after 2020 and our assets are transferred to the regional Marches Local Enterprise Partnership and the West Midlands Combined Authority. Also check out The Section 151 Officer- Council Tax and Fraudulent Accounting.
  18. I hadn't realised that Painters is part of Balfour Beatty. A short video about Painters.
  19. 21st March 2017 from Herefordshire Council News: On the Hereford Times website today Tony Johnson, leader of Herefordshire Council, said: Sports pitches, parks and open spaces. I thought they were "looked after" by the Council. More off loading by the council along with other public assets. What happened to Herefordshire you can?
  20. Heard this on BBC H&W Radio today. Looks like we are turning into a police state with judges and officials using secret courts to determine the fate of established citizens. Won't be long before we are stopped in High Town and asked for our papers. Jesse Norman (our silent MP) has been contacted about this injustice, but so far no comment.
  21. Both articles in The Guardian this week: and It won't be long before we all pay to go to work! This on top of the Conservative government trying to increase self employed taxes in the Budget.
  22. News from Herefordshire Council - 16th March 2017 Over the years this project has attracted much comment about its technology and future running costs. However now that it is built, maybe the councils will get their contractors out and collect all the rubbish which lies scattered throughout our towns and along our highway verges. Also can the councils now give the rate payers a true and accurate forecast of the future running costs.
  23. Yes I had the planning notices book marked on the new website here, but when I went to have a look today I got this message. Have found they have been moved to here. I wonder where they will be next week?
  24. Just cycled past and been told by an onlooker that someone is ill in their flat and that the services are trying to get the person out. Must be a logistical problem.
  25.
